Art-Is-In Bakery

I have eaten here once or twice and its okay - likely not worth the price. What I primarily came for was the baguettes. The last two times I ordered them though they had changed. They are like sawdust and bland. I thought the first time it was a one off. I ordered them again at Christmas and that it - no more art-is-in. Its a shame because I would think there would be a market for good bread that is so hard to find in Ottawa.

Nice place for breakfast or brunch. The atmosphere is nice and the service is friendly. The scones are delicious and the latte was good. Prices are reasonable. For sure a place that I would recommend.

Twice in a week, I came down and they don’t have any of the food showcase in their menu. They don’t update their website.

Before I order my breakfast I asked for a fresh orange juice they told me is squeezed it was not is a carton orange juice it’s taste industrial but the rest is good food are great but at the end they gave me a refund

We purchased two frozen items for the holiday season; the Tortiere with beef brisket, cheese curds and mashed potatoes and the Turkey Pot Pie. Each pie was $40. The tortiere was absolutely delicious. The turkey pot pie was a huge disappointment-uniform cubes of “spongy” turkey, gravy that was watery, and flavourless. I guess “one out of two ain’t bad”. We are huge fans of Art-as-in-Bakery, but either take the Turkey Pot Pie off the menu, or redo it to your usual high standard.

Great spot to try for pastries, pizza, and breakfast

Service always seems slow when I have been here. There is a line for dine-in and takeaway. The pastries are rich in butter. The cronut is my favourite pastry from here. The others are a bit too hard/crunchy for my liking.

Staff can be a hit or miss. Overall, I think their hospitality can improve. Some of the hosts don't greet customers warmly, and they do the bare minimum. For the price of food, I think there is also room for improvement on the wait staff.

There is a creative selection of brunch items. Pizza is pretty great. Toppings slide off the thin crust, which is how I think pizza should be. I love the sourdough sesame crust.

The quality and taste of the food is great! The white sourdough tastes great but is a bit expensive. I found the food and pastries a bit overpriced. Awesome atmosphere and free parking for up to 90 minutes.

The food and service are always the top notch. I’ve loved every item I’ve tried so far. Their bacon is my favourite! Great place for brunch outside in the summertime.

Food is good, really good - however a bit pricey for what you get. Service is a bit odd, some staff is super friendly and some are not at all and will completely ignore you when you walk in. Clearly I don't go there often and do not know the weird self-serve, pick up and seat yourself nonsense. Again the ladies at the counter were nice and friendly, the food was good but I got turned off when we walked in and were completely ignored by the 2 (I think they were waitresses) tht kept on walking past us and another couple that walked in a few minutes afterwards. Anyways, I would go back for the food (and drinks) but not that much for the service.

I have stopped frequenting their stand farmers market in due to them asking for tips. Handing me bread is not tip worthy and specifically asking for tips has tubbed me the wrong way.

Very nice bakery with delicious pastries and coffee! Can’t wait to try it the summer with the terrace and nice weather. I did find the egg benedict a bit average (too salty). I will definitely go back for the pastries!

1. Bakery items are very well done and taste good…. Especially drooling over that cinnamon bun
2. Quite busy…takes a while to order
3. Pretty expensive

Visited the coffee shop this morning and tried their croissants and hot chocolate. While the croissants didn't seem very fresh, the almond one stood out with its tasty flavor. However, the hot chocolate fell short of expectations and wasn't as flavorful as anticipated. Overall, a mixed experience.

Always fresh and delicious, the coffee and doughnuts so good! When is a busy hour it is a very crowded place.

I came here for Sunday brunch with my friends. An unsuspecting place as it seems to be in an old shipping warehouse! It was very busy but tables moved quickly and you could also do takeout. The menu had some great options and the pastries looked amazing. Food was fabulous but expensive! Probably the most expensive brunch I’ve ever done but I would go back!

A must visit when in Ottawa!

From my fall trip to Ottawa/Gatineau back in October, it was a coincidence that this spot was right in the neighborhood of where my friend was staying at!

I am glad I made the pit stop for this bakery as I wish I had visited back in my university days at Carleton U!

Known for their pastries and brunch menu, Art-Is-In Bakery always focuses on quality and rustic charm in all their menu items from their croissants to Eggs Benedict!

I can't wait to go back again!

Great selection for breakfast and lunch. Had the Fish Chowder and it was delicious. It came with a slice of their signature bread. So many breads and buns and donuts and sweet pastries as well as croissants. Great place for casual eating. Bathroom was very clean!

Food here tasty and made before your eyes. A bit of a factory ambience however, noisy and reverberating. Unfortunately the coffee sucks.
