Best place in Ottawa, does anyone know any alternatives in Ottawa (seeing as the place is now closed) or how to reach the owners, perhaps they do private orders for Kim Chi.

They were my savior today! I couldn't find bulldog katsu sauce anywhere around China, but they had it!

Most of the merchandises in store do not have a price label. I do not like shopping without knowing the the price.

Its a small family owned spot. Their kimchi was the best tasting kimchi I have had in a while. I would recommend supporting their business by visiting the shop

I really like going shopping here. It's one of the very few places where you can buy ingredients to cook proper Korean food. Loblaws gets a 1 star in this aspect no doubt.

Love this place. I live in East Ottawa but I'm always willing to drive downtown just to get their amazing kimchi. I even have to get a few extras for my family whenever I visit Montreal. Can't find any other place that makes kimchi as good as them in Ottawa. Also, I stock up on their side dishes all the time!

The new store is smaller but still has a great selection. Excellent quality Gochugaru. My new go-to spot for top notch Kimchee making ingredients.

Bright lit store with lots of options to choose from.
Frozen, refrigerated and dry foods. Lots of spices and some kitchen utensils and appliances as well.
Definitely recommend checking it out. They're moving locations so hopefully the new location will be bigger!

Good Korean grocery store with a good selection of foods (there's even some Japanese foods) and ceramic dolsot bowls. Always found the owner helpful when I had a question.

Was looking for cheese ramen and they were out of stock in the front and i asked the lady if they still had some and she said she just got a new shipment and carried a whole big box of it to the cash she was so sweet! 10/10 love this place

While Arum carries everything required for Korean cooking (along with some Japanese ingredients which are difficult to find, like katsuobushi), the best reason to shop here is the wall of prepared pickled vegetables and side dishes. The napa kimchi is excellent, as is everything else I've tried. The bulgogi and galbi in the small freezer by the counter are also delicious and well worth the price. My only complaint is they seem to no longer make the eggplant side dish (gaji namul, I believe) which was my absolute favourite.

The market is generally quiet, which is a bonus, however signage is limited, there are no one-way paths, and employees are not wearing masks most of the time. There is a plexiglass divider at checkout, and contactless payments are accepted.

Great food and they call for delivery service to make sure the schedule works for me, appreaciate that. However the delivering person didn't understand my instruction to leave the delivery at the entrance stairs (my building updated its policy for covid 19 so the general public isn't allowed inside the lobby) and it was a little unpleasant.

Ordered their grocery delivery service, it came super fast even considering I'm at the edge of their delivery service. Once ordered online, someone called to make sure that I would be home to take delivery.
The prepared food that I ordered reminds me of my mom's cooking from back home (I ordered the bulgogi, kimchi, and japchae. They were out of perilla leaves unfortunately).

Everyone that I dealt with was courteous and polite.
I will be ordering from there again.

I'm so impressed by this grocery store. They have an excellent selection of Asian food and their delivery service is fast and reliable. They will call you after you order to confirm a time slot and it's usually just a couple of hours after you place your order. Prices are very reasonable too.

Great selection, great price, and super sweet staff. They’re always well stocked with all the essentials and cool snacks. Coming from a 100% Korean!

Went for their adjoining restaurant and oh my. Superb food! More than enough for lunch. Their kimchi is simply great! I found the price a little above average but completely satisfied!

They claim it to be the "cheapest" but some products don't even have price tags, making it hard to compare. Some products were double the price of what I'd pay in Toronto or Montreal.

Small and doesnt have a ton of selection but it has great stuff for the size and the young lady who works there is very kind.

Great little place to get Korean food and snacks! Actually the only place in Ottawa to get these sort of things. They have a large selection of kimchi and other korean banchan for sale. Just wish they had rice cakes and gimbap for sale. Ottawa needs more Korean markets! At least one other one.

We've found long hair in the take-home side dishes twice now (not noticed until getting home and getting through about 1/4 of the plastic container). The first time we saw a thick piece of long hair when we opened it up at home. Used to like going here, but finding hair is unacceptable. Service is spotty as sometimes you go in and there is absolutely no employees once you check out. Will be going to the other Seoul Mart from now on as it is equal distance for us, cleaner and there are always people ready to check you out.
