I've been going to this store for more than 10 years.cashiers are always rude and unpleasant, maybe because they are over worked and unpaid

My favorite west indian store in brampton. They also have a bakery with freshly baked west indian goodies

Great store to get Caribbean groceries. The meat and vegetables are always fresh and they also have a bakery on site for fresh bread and treats.

Good selection of West Indian products.

Spacious and clean store.

Friendly staff.

Every in house made are yummy. The other products are a lot more expensive than other stores.

Perfect spot to find a taste of home. Best plantains in town and they have real goat meat and much more. A must stop when I'm in Brampton

I haven’t found another West Indian shop in the GTA that is as clean and well-organized as ASA. The fresh baked goods are also worth trying.

I was planning on visiting this place but after seeing all the bad reviews and disrespectful people that run this establishment, I'll drive a bit further and spend my money at Oceans.

I visited this store this morning around 10: 45 am to buy some produce to make pepper sauce. I proceeded to the cash to purchase my items but when I noticed the scotch bonnet peppers looked stale - I decided to return a bag of scotch bonnet peppers. Before I asked for the refund the bill came up to 30 dollars (tax included) The refund item (scotch bonnet peppers) were 6.99. After she refunded the item the final total was 26 dollars. At the moment I payed for my groceries and walk towards the exit of the store but something was telling me the cashier made a mistake so I went back into the store. I approached this older gentleman (wearing a red T-shirt) who would usually be in front of the door as people walked him. I tried to explain my issue but he wouldn’t let me speak and kept cutting me off. He was EXTREMELY disrespectful what made it worse was the fact that he was YELLING AT ME. Other people were looking over and I felt so embarrassed. I asked him quietly to lower his voice and he yelled saying “THIS IS MY VOICE”. He did not give me a chance or opportunity to explain my grievance and concern against the bill. As he became more confrontational and more uncooperative I decided to leave the store! This man was a totally out of control! A BULLY and so dam DISRESPECTFUL. I just spent my hard earned money in his establishment! When I returned to my car “horrified” I called the store to speak to a manager. That same cashier who checked out my groceries (I could tell it was the same voice) answered the phone and when I asked to speak to a manager - she put the same HOSTILE elderly man in the phone and he hung the phone up on me. I know these individuals at ASA ripped me off! I’ve heard other customers (West Indian like myself) say the same but I always give everyone the benefit of the doubt. I am so disgusted and I will never return to that store again. Also, the items that I purchased were not even listed on the bill nor the item the cashier claimed she voided. These owners actually need my measly 6.99 for their store to remain open!? Public PLEASE beware!

Very poor customer service. I was in the store this morning and asked a question, the heavy set woman just brushed passed me and proceeded to reach for the phone without any acknowledgment. It was around 10;50am and maybe 2 or 3 customers, it’s hard to believe that she was so busy that she couldn’t say something me
I waited for a few minutes but she continued to ignore me so I left.
I Don’t think I will visit this place again. Very poor customer service. Customers are not asking for charity, so put a smile on your faces and be thankful for the customers still coming into your store to shop for over priced items. From now on Will I be Shopping these items at Ocean, fresh co, and Sheikh Halal, etc, as most items can be purchased elsewhere and I don’t have to deal with rude and obnoxious people

There chicken Patties are amazing. Fresh & no pepper. The crust is flaky and soft. I used a toaster oven to reheat. Overall great fresh groceries.

Dang this place has taken a nose dive. Whats with west indian groceries and not taking pride in what the serve. This is similar with all cultures yes noone is exempt from quality fading over time. But what i got served for fish and bread was DISGUSTINGLY HORRIFYING the fish taste like it wasnt even cleaned. Had a rank nastyyy taste so shamfel like they used the fish from last weekand and put it in new bread.
Last time i will be comming here.

Lovely selection of west Indian items. Even items not available or hard to find in Trinidad. Wide variety of bakery items also available.fresh vegetablrs and different types of meats as well.glad to have such a store close to me, so I can get my essentials from back home.

I had a terrible experience at this business from the rude Indian man that works at the meat counter yesterday. I went there to ask for a service to cut meat as I have been referred from a friend to go there. Once i asked the man at the counter he got so rude with me, that I was shocked that he was speaking to me that way. He could have just said no, we don't offer that service. He insulted me and told me to leave the store. This person is very bad for any business. He should not be working with the public. I will never visit again. He should be fired for scaring off customers.

Very rude and aggressive once you have any concerns or questions.
After many years of making large purchases will never enter this store again.

Well stocked store with a wide variety of West Indian foods and groceries. Best Bara and Methai in town. Yummy

Very polite and helpful staff. Wasn't crowded as it's a small store! (as it's a concern right now) ; prices have gone way uo though but at least quality was decent

No washroom available and management is horrible. Please pay attention to you bill was charged twice for two items those girls are PROGRAMMED TO RIP OFF!

Love their salt fish bake and they have all the good food from the islands specially the seasonings

Bought a duck curry about 2 months ago. Was fantastic - almost like home-cooked. However, we bought one yesterday, and it was awful. They did a fast job (pressure-cooking the duck and adding masala without taking time to bunjhe it well). What a disappointment.

I called to speak with the owner and the person who answered the phone was rude and short. Disappointing!

Not impressed. Over priced items especially fish and meat. Plus the people have no clue about customer service. Third world attitude especially the one at the meat and fish area.

A. S. A West Indian Grocery is the number One West Indian store in the GTA. I've been shopping every single week for the past years and their products are always fresh (number 1 quality) and I can find everything I need. It's a one stop shop. All the staff/manager are very knowledgable, helpful and most of all very polite. All in all they deliver exceptional customer service.

Since we moved to Brampton about 10 years ago, we’ve been supporting ASA and introduced many family and friends to their store. Today, my mother simply asked an employee if they carried a certain brand and with a tone, this person said they sell what they get and left her. We found out that this was the owner of the store. He has no customer service and based on previous reviews, he seems to be an issue. Shoppers love the produce, bakery, meat and seafood but the attitude of the employees and owner suck. Definitely contemplating on going back to FH Multi Food in Mississauga every week for our West Indian groceries. It’s a distance but it is worth it to not be treated this way. To start, we will be making ASA a last resort.

Very delicious homemade tasty food cooked on the premises, lov the bake and salt fish also good selection of fresh fish and meat.

Staff was very helpful. They had a variety of goods and their prices were reasonable. Meat section was very efficient. In their servic. The only problem was the cow heel was not properly burnt and cleaned.you could still see the hairs on it. Everything else was ok. Would shop there again but stay away from the cow heel it might kick you.

Friendly staff, clean environment, fresh meat, nice bakery. Over all, very satisfied with this place.

Went here for the first time and will definitely return for some tennis rolls and salara. I was able to get the salara right out of the oven and it was great.

My hubby and I love West Indian food. We shop at this grocery store whenever we visit this town to get our greens, veggies and other goodies that aren't available in regular grocery stores. Good stuff! Wonderful and helpful staff!

Discovered this grocery by chance and it didn’t disappoint. Had some khurma and coconut drops and they were delicious. Shopped there several times after that and it’s always nostalgic buying foods from brands that I know. Will be sure to visit every time I go to Brampton.

Everything for Caribbean dishes and snacks plus they have in their bakery, fried fish n bread. Try it!

With it's in house butcher shop and West Indian grocery store the friendly staff are just a bonus to a pleasant shopping experience

Best roti in Brampton! Good place to buy meals, baked goods and very good meats and spices. Whenever I'm in town this is my go to West Indian place!

It was good but on the pricey side, then again I think customers are paying far too much for halal meat and food.

I fly in from New York to Brampton every Saturday to see the Bakery Clerk named Farrah. Very nice girl and very helpful. Thank you Farrah.
