Barber cussed me out!
Ive been stopped by one of the barbers before in the mall and told “im the best” “everyone wants me to cut there hair”. I’ve listened, taken the card and went on with my day. I already have a hairdresser who im very happy with btw. Today I was stopped again and politely said “im okay youve done this before” as I was walking away the man starts telling me that I should go f myself. I turn around and say something along the lines of c’mon man you dont needa cus me out because I dont want my hair cut by you. I was then told to atleast follow the instagram. “I dont even have the app downloaded” I said. I was then told “Im old enough to be your dad have some respect” and “your a punk” followed with a slu of other not so nice things. Apparently there will be no repercussions for his acts because his uncle owns the barber shop. Extremely unprofessional behaviour. 10/10 would not recommend this place or even going near it. You may be harassed!

Every time I go to Ashby Grove I book with Ralph. Ralph's professionalism and attention to detail immediately set him apart. He took the time to listen attentively to my preferences and offered valuable insights based on his extensive expertise. What impressed me the most was his ability to translate my vague ideas into a haircut that not only complemented my features but also exceeded my expectations.

2months later - Just booked another appointment with Ralph, man is coming in on his day off to cut my hair. Just shows the dedication this man has for his customers!

Got recommended to go to Ralph by a few buddies, and immediately booked a time to get my hair cut by him. Ralph was backed up for the week so I waited and I’m very glad I did. Ralph is a very easy going guy who makes for a very comfortable experience. Very personable, easy to talk to, and always does a great job with my (and others’) hair.

I usually cut my hair with Ralph, and it's always perfect. Super sharp skills and always fun to chat with! You just can't go wrong with him.

The pros are the lady who cut my hair was a nice lady and they took my as a walk in but the cons are she smelt like cigarettes cut my hair shorter then I wanted and didn’t give me the cut I wanted and it was almost 40$ I didn’t even get a wash just a cut.

I wish we had option for zero star, wrost service I ever had in life, had hair cut, guy seemed to be in rush, he was like, why was I even there for hair cut, he left my hairs undressed and after i dressed them my right side didn't even had half length of hairs on my left.
He was really hard with his trimer on my beards, he was kinda banging and scratching his trimer over my face.
I really fell sorry for business owner!

The lady who did haircut is in so rush to complete. I don’t like the way she gave me the haircut. I don’t prefer this place to anyone.

The barber is in over his head, someone needs to tell him the mirror are there to use not to turn the customer the otherside so he cannot see what you are doing. The worst haircut of my life. But other barber is good.

Took my son to the mall to try and fix a previous haircut disaster. As they were busy they made sure to squeeze us in with no hesitation. Ralph did an amazing job on my son's hair and we will definitely be back.

Poor service. Unprofessional. He was in a rush, and reckless. He was not in proper mood, and I don’t know why he was there today if he didn’t want to be. I usually don’t write a review when I receive bad service, but this time it was worse and I had to write one to help others make the right choice.

Visited this place the second time yesterday. My son has specific requirements when it comes to haircut and the length and this is the only place he found who listens to the customer patiently and gives his requirements a consideration instead of eventually doing their own style. This place is a keeper for their attitude and professionalism.

It was worse experince ever.waited one hour.hair cut was not even good enough.very poor service.my appointmnt was 5.45 12/17/2022.blue cap guy.he dont know how use trimmer scissor.all over zero service.

Also great with kids!

Hair dresser was more concerned with keeping the hair off himself and watching the tv on the wall vs paying attention to the client, hair line on neck was completely missed as it was pointed out to me when I got home! Would not recommend.

Ali Did a good job on my hair, but when he did my beard he missed a bunch of hair I just noticed, he cut my Adam apple 3 times and was pretty rough not sure what that’s about.

A few years back, a friend referred me to Jason. I've been a customer of his ever since then. He is an amazing barber, knows his way around a beard, and overall a cool guy to talk to. Would definitely recommend him.

I came to Ashby grove for 2+ years and usually they were great. But I came today and I can confidently say I have got the worst hair cut I have had in my life. He messed up my hair then rushed to finish the cut before his next appointment. He made no attempt to do anything to fix the mistake. From the start he was lazy, cutting with one hand behind his back, making large motions with the razor. I don’t leave bad reviews, but the quality of the cut was so bad I had to make sure people know what they risk when coming here without knowing their barber beforehand.

I’ve been going here for years, and consistently get a nice haircut every time. I recommend Ali and Kat, but I’ve noticed great results from other stylists there too.

Had an 11: 30 am appointment today, was told to wait 5 mins, 20 mins passed by and although another barber was free we were still kept waiting! Pathetic service.

Ralph cut my hair on Tuesday and he did an amazing job! He offered a hair cutting EXPERIENCE instead of a hair cutting SERVICE! Ralph cuts while paying attention to detail and ensures the client is happy throughout the entire process! He cuts AND entertains!

My latest haircut here has been a roller coaster.

First the bad. I had a 10: 30 appointment Friday morning and showed up on time, but twenty minutes later I was still waiting to be seen. There were two barbers present; Rob was with someone else, but Kat was simply hanging around at the front gossiping with the receptionist — from the time I got there at 10: 25 to the time I left at 10: 50.

I rescheduled for Saturday morning at 9: 00. I got there at 8: 55, and the same cashier from the previous day was the only one there. It wasn't until 9: 10 that the phone rang, and the barber I was supposed to see (Jason) wasn't coming in. So I was rescheduled again, this time for 10: 15. I arrived on time, and still wasn't in the chair until 10: 25.

As for the positives, the apprentice/receptionist Sarah was fantastic and did everything in her power to make things right for me, but at the end of the day she can only do so much when so many of the barbers themselves just don't care. From what I can tell in the last two days the place couldn't function without her, and management honestly doesn't deserve her. And when I finally did get my hair cut, Rob did an excellent job.

I just got my hair cut by a gentleman named Ralph, an absolute pro. This is the best cut I’ve ever had. He was not satisfied until the cut was perfect, a true master of his craft. I’ll definitely be coming back. Great job Ralph!

After moving to Guelph I was extremely nervous to let anybody cut my hair, I however was extremely lucky to come across Jason. Very professional, does an excellent job with his fades and I couldn’t recommend him enough. Couldn’t see myself going anywhere else in Guelph

Just left Ashby Grove and had an amazing experience. My barber was Ralph and let me first off say that Ashby Grove is lucky to have him. In all my years of getting my haircut I have never experienced such professionalism and talent.

Many of us search our lives to find our talent and some of us never figure it out. Let me say Ralph has found his talent and if you live in the Guelph area, definitely check him out for your next cut.

This man has not only style but also talent. Highly Recommended

Ever since I moved to guelph I haven't gotten my hair cut anywhere else, it's a good price, great for students, and the barbers are very careful and friendly

If you want to have to ice your ear after your haircut, ask for Ali. Saying “ah, please go easy” did not help the roughest, quickest cut I’ve ever had. I blame myself for not getting up and walking out though. Still hurts now, some people just do not care to do a good job

Great experiences here. Ali is awesome and my go-to barber here. Very precise with his haircuts and beard trims. He is friendly and easy to chat with, as well as provides good product recommendations.

Firstly, Jason is a very skilled barber. However the two others I’ve experienced since have been either a terrible barber or the rudest man I’ve ever met and shouldn’t have a job that involves people. Will not be back.

Asked to have my sides shaved down and came home to this. Chunks cut out of my hair that I've been growing for over a year. My hair line is no longer lined up. I'm beyond disappointed and angered with this service. Slow down and pay attention

Regular here, get my cut from Jason. Never had a bad cut from him, and he always takes his time to make sure the job is done well. The shop is well run too and looks nice and tidy.

Jason is Elite. Best Barber out there hands down. Very professional, does an amazing job every single time and a very cool person to have conversations with. He’s been my barber for almost two years now and not once has he given me a less than amazing haircut. Place is clean, staff is friendly and i 100% recommend.

Theses guys give the worst haircuts one of the barbers cut my hair to short and cut it’s up words and cut in un evenly and now have to wait till it grows back so I can get it evened again. DONT COME HERE!

If you want a good Fade or clean up Jason's the guy to go to super talented and a good guy to chat it up with never leaves me with a bad hair cut.looking forward for my next hair cut

Zoltan is the best! He gave my boyfriend a haircut and he involved me in the process by asking what we both thought and preferred for the haircut. He was extremely professional and cut his hair perfectly. My boyfriend will definitely be coming back regularly!
