Atami Sushi

Loved finding this little gem. The service here was really good.although we did get food we didn't ask for and missed some food we did have on the list. However, it did get really busy fast and the wait staff was incredible for keeping up.

Really really happy with the freshness of the food.

I came with higher expectations and it did not meet them. I waited for my drink for way too long and asked for it 3 times, wrong food kept coming and in a wrong quantities. Taste is okay, nothing to highlight there.

Pretty good, service is good, food is average. They have octopus sashimi for dinner (as well as many other kinds, but octopus gets a special mention for not being available at many places) but as usual, all sashimi is for dinner only, and same with most sushi, surprisingly. The beef plates are low quality, but they compensate on having THE BEST shrimp skewers - remove tail and eat, plain and simple. Best desserts too, they have deep fried milk, which i havent seen anywhere else, as well as maccaroons and your usual ice creams, jellies and small cake pieces.

The owner can be seen as rude, but shes actually very nice, shes just quiet.

Always come back, if anything, for those shrimps and service.

My husband and I come here almost every week. The food is exceptional, always so tasty and hot! We’ve concluded that it’s the best AYCE sushi restaurant by a long shot!

The food options is good. The food service really lacks. Servers are usually standing on their phones until you call them over and then they are responsive. Our waters and drinks never got refilled. This place costs the same amount as the competition in hamilton and isnt on par.they use to be better. Mediocre

Front desk waitress doesn't seem to care much about service. Food sizes are very small portioned. Even in inflation times, they are remarkably worse than others.

Fantastic AYCE place and worth the price the quality of sushi, sashimi, and rolls that you can get here. They don't load up on rice, instead have it very well crafted between the amount of rice and fish/protein that you choose. They don't have an extensive dim sum option but what they do have is great.

Amazing for a date night or out with friends, will definitely come back for this all you can eat.

Good Food, average service. Menu is very limited for lunch as opposed to dinner. Better than the alternatives with a similar style of dining.

Of all the bad sushi places ive tried, this has to be the worst. Edamame that was close to rotting, sushi thats worse than grocery store sushi, and the service was sub par. But by far the worst thing ive ever experienced, the spicy tuna sushi was CANNED TUNA, ive never seen this EVER at any sushi restaurant ever. Avoid this place, it being empty at lunch should have been a dead giveaway.

This is our go to Sushi place, food is fresh and made perfectly, served quickly no matter how busy it is, staff always friendly when serving and answering questions.

Decor is simple but elegant inside. The service is by far the best aspect of this business, which is saying something considering the great quality of food.

Worth stopping by, and coming back like we have.

-The establishment looked as if it was going piece by piece with renovations
-the sushi rolls were oddly sized being too small for an 8 piece roll
-food was undercooked and watery and other dishes like the salmon belly were overcooked
-meat was very grisly and the steak tasted like it was going bad
-the server placed all our plates on the edge of the table and walked off as quickly as they possibly could
-after leaving I had problems with my stomach aswell sending me and my family to the washroom not even an hour we left

Straight bussin. The food and waiter were both exceptional. Great food for a great price. 10/10 will be coming back here.

Better than August 8 without the price increase. This sushi place is definitely equivalent or better than August 8, however it cost less. The service is fast, and it is never too busy during lunch service. I am very happy to have found this restaurant, and it will now be my first choice to go to. 10 / 10 recommend! Bring a friend! Update on June 30 2022, and It's still good.

The food was excellent but they did forget to bring some of the items we ordered. I will go back again. It was mother's day and maybe they were busier then normal

Nice small unassuming restaurant. Inside decor is very traditional and warming. Food is fantastic everything was surprisingly tasty compared to other sushi restaurants.
Prices are also a little cheaper.

The cons are the pencil and paper that you have to order with. It's not a huge burden but I feel like they could update their system by now.
And some menu items are dinner only meaning even tho it's lunch time, you'll have to switch to the dinner menu price if you want the other options.

Other than that service is great, staff is friendly. Food is amazing.

Best ever. Great lady who owns the place she and her family deserve all the business we can give them. Highly recommend. The east mountain rolls are heaven sent.

After discovering this gem, I have ordered from Atami Sushi about four times in two weeks. Atami is a step above the popular chain sushi restaurants of the area. The selection of rolls is incredible, and even if you don't like sushi there are so many delicious options. All my orders have been ready on time, and the freshness and quality is the best of the area. I personally recommend the Tokyo Roll and anything with their amazing BBQ Eel. Also try the beef ribs! Highly recommended!

The sushi here is always so fresh and absolutely delicious. This place is definitely a hidden gem. I have ordered take out and dined in several times and will continue to do so! Highly recommend to all of the sushi lovers out there:)

My first time eating sushi and it went better then I thought. The restaurant is small and dark. Server is friendly and all of our food was good.

Canceled my Uber Eats order an hour after I ordered during lunch. No explanation given. Will not be ordering from here again.

Delicious. I ate way too much good flavours and good service. Good size rolls, not too big so you can actually order a good variety of different items before you can't eat anymore. Will go again!

It isn't exactly a trendy place like some of the other sushi places downtown but the sushi is good. The menu shows many combinations and the service is fairly quick for restricted capacity.

Atami is my Go To for Sushi! I love to come here with family and friends as well as to introduce people to sushi!

Was pleasantly suprised by the quality of the sushi for the price. We didn't have any issue with service, food, cleanliness or anything like other reviews have said. The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is the inconsistent pricing between website/in-person menus - if that was fixed I'd have no problems here at all.

We’ve been going to Atami sushi for years. The sushi is amazing. The food is hot, fresh and delicious. The Atami special is a personal favourite. The service is okay, sometimes quick and sometimes very slow. The servers are often unfriendly.

This all you can eat sushi restaurant is amazing. I have been going here for 10 years and every time the food is excellent. There is a big giant boat I requested for my birthday and my table was super excited to eat from it. Plenty of hot dish items, sushi rolls, hand rolls, and appetizers too. The staff are super friendly and efficient. If you go on your birthday your meal is free too!

Good food, staff could have been a little friendlier…. We kept missing a bunch of food and had to Reorder it…. Service was slow…. And there wasn’t very many people there either….

Good sushi. The shrimps were great. Did the all you can eat. Careful as price online is different than actual price. Many items missed. Slow service. Was rushed at the end. Might go again: P

Happy that my yam tempura roll was fresh. So many places pre-make the yam tempura, so very pleased with the quality of rolls here.

I don't like to post bad reviews but unfortunately I had too. I place a order few days ago I spend around 90$ because we where craving sushi, and unfortunately the rolls where ok.and sadly we found something on our food, we call to advise but the answer was.oh we can't find your order sorry like we never order there.probably was bad luck but I will never go back

Exceptional and tasty food, I liked the mood this place has, and the workers were super nice. Will surely eat here again.

I am here now, just ordered Green dragon roll and Salmon avocado roll.

They charge dinner price for lunch now. They didn't have certain items. Slightly disappointed in my opinion. The service is good and the waitress was nice.

A friend and I went in for lunchtime they told us it’s dinner price which we were okay with since all the other places were busy and booked because of the 10 ppl limit. Food was just alright since we were hungry and wanted sushi. But man oh man the service is super bad the lady that was working there no smile no nothing very slow service and we still were okay with it. We order a couple of items from the menu and it never arrived so we finally mentioned it to her, she said oh we don’t have it today no sorry no nothing at all lol. So I go to her don’t you have to let us know before we placed the order in with you. Anyways this place is bad really bad food is alright it can be improved but with their service and the way they run it I would stay away from it especially if that lady they have working serves you. Never again!

Service was good, food was ok and was a little expensive.sapporo, downtown Hamilton is a much better choice I rate this a 3.5

I understand COVID hurt everybody but no excuse for charging dinner rates for lunch with no justification other than “well everywhere else is full” The menu and website say dinner rate starts at 3: 30. Charging an $11 difference at 1pm is ridiculous. We agreed as we understand it’s hard times. However everything we went to order was “sorry we dont have that right now”. $40 lunch for basic mediocre rolls. Watched several customers maybe 5 or 6 walk in, get upset and walk out all within the hour my friends and I were there. Mediocre food, awful service and won’t be back.

Really like their sushi and menu. Fresh and delicious. Prices are higher.and with Covid we usually order to go. Tried other places but this is the best for freshness and menu.

Partner has eaten here a few times, generally enjoys the food for the price. August 8 is much preferred but they went up in price and down in quantity recently so we decided to frequent a new place a few times and see how it is.

HE SLIPPED ON THE ICE OUTSIDE, fell very hard and smashed his elbows on the ground.

Now, my partner is not one to complain- he's very polite and usually stays quiet.

He told the lady inside that he slipped on the ice outside their door and they should put some salt down. She INSISTED it was not them, could not possibly be their fault and that they didn't have to salt. She then just said she couldn't understand him (language barrier) and got him his food and ushered him out.

Very disappointed by the lack of accountability. The very least she could have done is acknowledge what happened or ask if he was alright.

Had a very good experience in here with my daughter. The food arrives quick and the service is just excellent. Prices are fair.

It's not as sophisticated and advanced ordering by iPad unlike other all you can eat sushi but the food is made fresh and sashimi and sushi are very fresh

The best sushi I've had. Delicious food with fast and friendly service. Atami Sushi is our new favorite restaurant for date night.

I love Atami Sushi. Prior to covid, this was my go-to sushi place for dine-in. The all you can eat buffet was the best. The quality of the fish and the presentation has always been fresh, tasty and fantastic. Most of the other sushi places in Hamilton store pre-made sushi in the fridge and then present them to order. You can tell the difference with the quality. Now, during covid times, I either pickup or have delivered and it's consistent and delicious. I would highly recommend Atami Sushi over any other sushi place.

We love to go out. Last night we visited this fine place which friends told us about. We enjoyed a delightful evening there with first-rate dishes and a professional crew and a talented chef. We put this restaurant in our phone list and we shall no doubt go again very soon. Highly recommended.

The service was really good, a lot of servers coming to check on us and clear our dishes very quickly after we were done with something. Although the food isn't the greatest for the price. I'd recommend a different sushi place for better quality food.

This restaurant is the best sushi place in Hamilton. Many All-You-Can-Eat's food feels cheap, but Atami's food just tastes great. Everyone should try out their atami special, seriously, that roll is amazing. Their service is overall average. They did make a few mistakes here and there, but they were apologetic, and I feel like they understand me as a customer. I've been there multiple times, and speed that the food comes out really depends on the time you come in. I found that the fastest time usually is around 3 pm. Even at the peak of the night though, the wait time is still above average. Although their price is a little higher, I feel that it is totally worth.

If you love sushi, come check out Atami sushi! Fairly priced & their portions are the perfect size:)

Went during lunch in a snow storm so it wasn't very busy. The service was excellent and the food was very good. Some of the better items were not available at lunch time but would definately go back.

Food is always fresh. Staff are always polite and very helpful. And the atmosphere is very welcoming

Very nice. Well accommodating for birthday party of 16 plus people. Well guys well done. Too bad the streamer for dim sum was broken that day. And they charge $7 for a 11 months old baby. For eating too much ice cream.

Best sushi place in Hamilton. Great options for people who don't like sushi. My favourite is their chicken cutlets. I go there with my boyfriend about once a month, and we love it.

My boyfriend and I always go to Atami because the quality of the food is so good. Lately, however, the service has not been so good. I opted to take a friend there tonight and was very disappointed; safe to say she will never go back. The food came fast and it was well done but one of the female servers was extremely rude. We were waiting on another plate of sushi but had also ordered a desert item (as stated on the ordering card still on our table). She had come and asked if she could clear our uneaten deserts and we let her know we were still eating. Another server came by and asked if we wanted the bill to which we replied again that we were still eating and actually waiting on more food that was ordered. The female server kept coming back to the table to clear small items and asking repeatedly if we were done with certain things. She was watching to see if we were done eating an item and then would immediately come over to clear it and hover around the table until my friend was finished what she was eating. It got so ridiculous that she was asking if she could clear our soya sauce and spicy mayo while i still had sushi on my plate in front of me. It was bizarre but I did not need it anyway so I agreed. She asked if we wanted the bill and I said no (AGAIN). We were feeling extremely rushed and this is only about 35 minutes after arriving there (we got there at about 7pm). The server kept returning as we were eating our desert to clear various items ONE at a time.even down to the pencil on the table. We were extremely irritated and she finally dropped the bill down (we usually go to the front to pay, and I also wanted to split the bill with my friend). I finally spoke up when she came back AGAIN to ask for our menu. She told me that giving the bill was "protocol" after someone orders desert and that I had apparently asked for the bill. It looked like her and the other staff members were talking about this for the rest of the time we were seated and it was really uncomfortable. Me and my boyfriend probably won't ever go back because the attitude there is unreal and not worth our money. Such a shame because the food is good!

Excellent party platter for take out, very fresh and delicious. Just ate dinner all you can eat and it was BEYOND fresh! The sashimi just melted in my mouth, such a nice experience! Waitresses were very attentive making sure our food was good and our tea cups were filled. Also the atmosphere - a very nice looking restaurant!

Food is amazing and they're pretty accommodating to people with dietary restrictions. I'm vegan and they were able to make me a few things you just need to tell them your restrictions when you walk in!

Absolutely amazing! Amazing food and amazing staff! I have been coming here for the last 7 yrs and will always choose this place over any other sushi place.

Open later than other all you can eat sushi places and great food. Staff was nice enough considering I went with a friend at 10: 05 with last call at 10: 30. If I was staff, I know I wouldnt be happy about such a late customer. Will go again.

I'm giving this a one star because last night was an experience that was kinda horrible.

What can I say, this is usually our go to spot. The food is good. The employees are nice. But last night around 8: 30 pm, restaurant wasn't busy at all. But we weren't getting half the things we ordered.

We kept being told that our food was coming but watched the exact same items be offered to people who showed up after us.

I'm not saying that this only happened to a one or two food items.

There was about 10 different items that we didn't get. And after 15-20 minutes of waiting we had to ask them about our items. And they had multiple people come back to our table asking if we could rewrite our order.

We were there for about 40 minutes. And after got the second card. And only 1 item out of 8 was brought and were even told that our food was on its way. And watched 3 other tables get there food before us. Being the same stuff we ordered.

We decided that maybe it was best to leave.

Like i said we loved this place. Came back as often as we could.

But last night really made me reconsider finding a new location.

Disappointed in our takeout order. Rolls were pretty small compared to other places, and didn’t taste as fresh. Tempura was extremely soggy and mushy, also our order was taken wrong so we didn’t receive what we wanted. Overall just super meh.

Was very hesitant based on reviews, we decided to give it a shot as it was close to home and had many different menu options.i am so happy we gave atami a go and did not base our visit on bad reviews as they all counteracted our overall experience.food was all amazing, came out quick, recieved everything we ordered.had 3 female servers, two of them were very friendly however the young server seemed slightly inexperienced and could work on her customer service skills being in a based industry.overall great expence, highly reccomend.my favourite sushi go to spot from now on!
