So the food was good everything was very fresh torch sushi is amazing must try, sushi tacos was yummy. I would say if you are a sushi lover August 8 is a good place to go!

We had a phenomenal experience. There were tons of options for everyone there, even the pickiest of eaters, was finding something delicious. Unlike other restaurants, none of our orders were ever misplaced or missing. Each associate we encountered was friendly and helpful, even to the point that they promptly accommodated our daughter with modified chopsticks, to ease her dining experience. This is definitely in our top fav restaurants.

Bring your appetite and loose fitting clothes!

Just recently dined in there AND EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. I was there with my boyfriend and ordered an assorted torch roll. Inside the roll i proceeded to find a strand of blonde hair on the sushi piece that had tuna on it. I have blonde hair but the piece of hair was inside the middle of the roll. I had pointed it out my boyfriend, in which we were in the position of letting the server know.

After we had let her know she assured us that she would get her manager we waited roughly 25 mins hoping for a prompt response from the manager.after ten mins our server had removed the contaminated roll from our table. A male gentlemen then proceeded to talk to my boyfriend explaining that no one in the back of house has blonde hair and said he would try to figure out how this happened. The chefs and the staff proceeded to make it seem AS IF I HAD PUT MY OWN HAIR inside the sushi looking for some sort of discount. As their manager was talking to me THEY WERE ALL WATCHING MY FACE WAITING TO SEE IF I WAS LYING OR IF I WAS GUILTY. I explained to the manager that i personally would never go out of my way to do something like that because they were implying it as if i did.so please check your cameras.i’ve been going to this place with my family and friends for years and this will unfortunately be the last and final time.provide better food service and don’t go blaming your customers for your lack of customer service and professional integrity.

Been here twice, would visit more often if I lived in GTA. Tried most of the lunch and dinner menu items: D. If not a fan of fried foods stay away from everything tempura. Servers very helpful and polite.

The food was really delicious. The service was so nice, especially the girl who served us was ready to explain each and every question we had. Will be going again.

They were extremely rude. We didn’t get forks straws after asking a lot. The food is cold and gross no flavour. No one checked to see if we needed anything

The sushi is tasteless and dry. They load everything up with sauces that are salty. Oil is definitely old that they use to fry. Probably the worst sushi I have ever had.

Always a pleasure eating here! Food is fantastic, they have a gluten free menu and lots of options for all diets. We try and eat here every chance we get when we visit Bramalea City Centre. They also have new menu items added monthly which is always a welcome surprise as we love trying new things! Only critique is sometimes service can be sporadic. When you first get there it's all hands on deck but after it's hard to call someone over and if you ask for extra napkins or drinks some waiters forget or don't come by again so you have to track down another.

My friend and I celebrated our birthdays here last Saturday night. The place was very nice and clean. Covid protocols was followed. Staff were friendly. Food were amazing! Fresh and tasty! We had AYCE and we ate A LOT! Our server, Ryan, was the best! Always smiling and looked really happy to be there. He is such a sweet guy, when he heard that my friend and I greeted each other happy birthdays (and this was when we were already paying our bill) he left and came back with a birthday treat with 2 candles for us! We were so surprised! We appreciated how he was really attentive and took care of his customers. Even our spouses said that he took care of them when they were waiting for us to arrive. Ryan is definitely an asset to the restaurant! We would definitely be back, stellar food and service!

I went here last week, the food was amazing, the service was the best service I’ve ever experienced at a sushi restaurant, this is definitely going to be my go to sushi spot from now on

Always enjoyed our sushi experience at August 8. But not sure what was happening. They would send out orders extremely late which we don't mind as long as we got our order. Major issue was they sent some of our orders out twice. We don't want to waste food.

Great menu and atmosphere! I enjoyed the service and how attentive the staff was. They have some very special chefs working hard here. One of the best sushi's in town.

Visited here for the first time in a couple of years and they've gone from a 3 star AYCE to a 4 (or 4.5) star spot thanks to new menu items and really fresh cuts of fish. Great staff, very quick service

Sushi buffet service was perfect based on past experience. The robot server from hirobot.ca was the highlight of the night and a great icebreaker for dates to come. We were not told ahead of time that it would be cheaper to pay in cash.

We have been coming here for years since they opened. After sitting down for 10 minutes my friend started feeling nauseous and asked the server if she can leave as she was not feeling well. We offered to pay the items she ordered instead of being charged the full dinner AYCE. The "manager" Angela said sorry once you sat you down we cant determine what she ate so we have to charge you full price. I mean how much food can you eat within 10 minutes from sitting down?

Imagine feeling nauseous and sick and you are told you are told to pay full price for just ordering miso and couple of sashimi. We even told the server if she eats anymore she will throw up.

We understand that this is their standard rule but a restaurant like this should be more accommodating. Thanks for the negative experience.

I love August 8! They always come correct with their orders. Fresh, still warm when delivered, and thoughtful. They gave me lots of soya sauces and gave me a straw with my drink, even without asking! I had the yam sushi rolls with vegetable tempura.and after eating 4 pcs of the vegetable tempura and 3 pcs of the sushi, I was full. Big portions and tastes amazing! I always go to them for sushi, vegetable tempura and their cheese wontons because I know it’s always going to be fresh and tasty!

So much variety here sometimes you forget its a sushi spot lol- nonetheless the food is just mouth watering make sure you don't fill up on apps. Before the sushi comes out lol - enjoy

Great atmosphere and food is always delicious. Very good wait staff very quick and efficient and now even have a robot to bring the meals to the table from the kitchen which was pretty cool to watch it help the wait staff.

This is probably the best August 8 location. I've been to Oakville, Burlington and downtown but I find this location has all the items and they properly fill in the sushi tacos with more salmon and avocado than the other locations. Spicy salmon tacos here atleast is the best and their dim sum options are always available when I go. Don't expect a real dim sum experience as they are not known for it but I like that there's an option to do so. I drive almost an hour just to come here when I need my sushi taco fix.

Incredibly patient staff. The environment is so nice, quiet, private. Their ordering system is a little weird, but we managed quite nicely. They employ robots to collect dishes which is pretty cool too.

Our go to in almost every occasions.
This location has friendlier staffs than the one at Oakville.
Very attentive. Food is fresh and good. Overall good experience.

Update: Staffs made this restaurant very welcoming and enjoyable for our big family! 2 years since my last review and Food is still great!

Great food, quick and friendly staff, wonderful atmosphere and intriguing little robot servers. All in all made a great date night and would definitely go again.

Horrible service (but a very friendly manager). I was just at this location and they took an hour and a half to complete my initial ayce order. Of the 2 hours we were here, an hour and a half was spent just waiting. They asked me to reorder the items because I guess they messed it up and didn't bring half the food. The service is embarrassingly slow especially for a 4pm half empty restaurant. We had to beg the waiters for simple things like water refills. Overall a really tragic experience and there needs to be better organization. I don't recommend this location, try the one at Spadina.

Always good service at this location. One of my favourite locations since they seem to have more selection and interesting specials.

Did the drive in, very nice, did the patio, and the Asian girl working was so rude, and I had a really bad experience. They said it might rain, okay np, but then were Soo slow to get food (it never rained) and like you ask for anything and the Asian girl was rude. The Indian server was very nice though

Excellent food and service at a very reasonable rate. Great variety with full visuals on an electronic menu pad. Definitely worth a return trip.

Ordered Shrimp Tempura’s, Mango Chicken - Both were served cold. I repeated the order but same issue again. I heard other customers across the table complaining same problem. Ordered Coconut Ice cream and was served Vanilla ice cream. Ordered custard bun and Sponge cake and did not receive even after 60 minutes, eventually had to leave without eating them

Servers are absolutely not helpful and they just smile

Ordered separately 3 vegetarian rolls and 3 fish rolls. They put it all in one tray touching each other. Thats NOT ok! If i wanted my vegetarian rolls to taste like fish i would have ordered a mixed tray. When people order separate rolls, especially vegetarian ones, its never ok to put them in with fish rolls. Huge waste of a $50.00 order!

In understand the circumstances of the restaurant business trying to get back in gear, but unfortunately we felt ripped off here. Extremely slow service, didn't receive parts of order, was advised it was a minimum 30min wait after 40 minutes of waiting for food, and caught the server incorrectly serving our food to the table behind us after the customers told her the food wasn't theirs. No food was served for over 30 minutes straight (there are timers on the iPad) and lost our appetites from waiting. Requested for updates from staff after 40 and 60 minutes, but they deferred the inquiry "back to chef" with no followup. Asked to cancel after almost an hour since we didn't want to get charged for it, and was advised by manager that they would bring it out to go. We ordered dessert and staff brought out a $90 bill for 2 (plus 1 year old baby) and the debit machine before we received our dessert and/or the missing items. Eventually got the "$10 worth of sashimi" as we were walking out. They prioritized online and delivery orders, forgot about the actual patrons on the patio. Not worth the premium price, much better places elsewhere.

First time back since the beginning of lockdown. Food still as good as ever but a little slow to come out for some orders.

Lots of delicious things to choose from. I don't eat sushi and still found plenty of things to eat. Udon noodles were really good. So were the short ribs. Sat on the patio so can't say much about atmosphere. Staff is friendly and food arrives quickly.

Good food. We went at lunch but opt for dinner because the menu has wider variety. Also very different from other AYCE. They have tataki, japanese tacos and sashimi on dinner menu. Shout out to Ethan! Best customer service. AYCE in general usually doesn't have good customer service because they just drop off your food and pick up the plates. Ethan did more than that. Food is very good. Very noisy and busy. You don't always get everything you order but you can just reorder or ask. Accessible from inside the mall or from outside parking.

My wifey and I met some close friends for Christmas lunch. Our table was ready, and right from the start the hostess was very helpful and friendly. Once we started to order the food, it came fast and furious. Before your knew it the table was full. As fast as the food came the servers took away the dirty dishes. They were also fast, friendly and overall did a good job. The food not just came fast but it is also very good food. We really enjoy going to August 8. They have a tree out front where we took a lot of pictures. Great job staff at August 8. Thank you very much.

Went lunch with group of 8. The place is ok; Kind of mixed chinese and Japanese food. It is buffet but you order from an iPad.

The phase of the food coming up is quite frustrating, it was super slow at beginning and it is hard to track what we have ordered as an group.

Waiter did not show up to take our drink order we had to ask many times. Later part of the launch I guess it is a little big less busy then all the food come up faster.

So we had some food, wait for awhile, some more food.the lunch is kind of messy schedule.

Food itself is ok, 20$ per person for lunch, not bad, but I rather I go get the food; in a way not saving any time and no services.

Went here for lunch and was very happy. Food was great and service was good. Only issue I had was that the iPad kept freezing when we were putting in our order.

Great food except seaweed salad-slimy. Mentioned to staff but still the same on next visit. Often food arrives late or dont show up or when bill is settled. Other than that great staff, overall quick service.

A newer larger location compared to the downtown location. They have high quality food, interiors were very elegant. Some items were in smaller portions to avoid wastage, which i appreciate. Would definitely visit again if im in the area.

I've been to a few August 8 restaurants but this one was the best. Very good quality sushi. You can tell the fish was fresh. I went during the week for lunch. Very tasty and the dessert was so good.

Not the greatest experiance. The food was blah came out to slow. We had 6 people they brought out one dish at a time for an all you can eat place and that price.service was not on par at all.

Service was good. Food was good. Servers updated us on food and also if food was going to be late. But yeah August 8 is a good place for groups or family lunch or dinners.

Great atmosphere, Good food. Would definitely recommend coming here for the food. The only qualm I would have to say is that there is a lot of rice on some of the roles. The house roll is definitely massive resulting in a harder time discerning the flavours, along with some of the dragon rolls based on my last experience here. Other than that, the rest of the food is really good!

Pretty much similar to any buffet offering Japanese restaurants like Heart Sushi or Tokyo Maki Sushi except that the ambiance is better. More privacy and less noise as opposed to crowded-looking w/table after table placed alongside each other. Here there are partitions to every table. Everything looks clean.

I had heard good things but unfortunately our experience did not match the reviews. The squid was almost neon yellow and extremely rubbery as it was so overcooked. The meats were either underdone or overdone. Other items seemed as though they'd been sitting in the fridge for a long time. Even the presentation wasn't nice. In addition, the service was slow. There are much better places around.

August 8 is a damn confusing name for a restaurant. But yet, the food is fantastic here. Located in the Bramelea City Centre mall, you will find plenty of parking spot. Staff are attentive and friendly. And the food selection is amazing. Dim Sum, sashimi, sushi, hot items.the list go on and on. You get to order it on an iPad and send it directly to the kitchen so no time wasted. My favourite item on the menu is the blow torch salmon and those desert steamed bun. YUM! Just thinking of it makes me hungry. They also offer dessert but tea is extra. The good thing about it located in the mall, is that when you're done with your meal, you can always go for a walk in the mall to digest!

Every time I come here I always assume that the food will get better and so will the service.
I received raw shiu mai, had a couple servers put their finger in my food trying to hand it to me, no wasabi was served I had to ask, empty plates stay stacked, didn’t get the right drink, no one fills the water until you ask at least 2 times (even when it’s not busy), food doesn’t come until half an hour later, asked a server for the bill and never came back so I had to ask another one 15 mins later after REALIZING she didn’t get it & lastly, I told them I’m paying DEBIT and a server repeated “debit” after me then handed me the machine (they don’t accept debit which I didn’t know I wasn’t told by anyone from the beginning) so I had to get up to withdraw and they didn’t come back 12-15 mins later to collect the bill.
I got 15% off from eating raw pork. I was a server so I know how tough it is but this all happened in ONE SITTING. C’mon.

Not coming back again sorry.

Very mediocre food. Sushi slightly better than grocery store sushi. Staff look like all suffer from severe depression. Lunch will cost you more than $20

It was an okay experience. I don't understand why so much hype.it was not even a busy night and we didn't get appropriate service. The waiter dropped a sushi on our table and guess what.just Oops. No apologies.
Even the sashimi and Salmon smelled a bit.

The place is just okay.the restaurant is nice and comfy, but the service and food leave something to be desired. My husband and I LOVE sushi so weve been to many places and our favourite by far is Wind Sushi in Niagara Falls. August8 took their time clearing our plates, was not attentive to our need for water refills, and is overpriced for the quality of sushi they're providing. The avocado in their rolls was lacking and left us wondering if they even use chunks or some sort of paste. Their selection is also pretty limited, even on their dinner menu. The one thing we were super impressed with was the blowtorched eel rolls and nigiri.delicious.but again, everything else was lackluster, so I'm sorry to say that we won't be going again.

Great sushi and dim sum restaurant, available very conveniently in Bramelea City Centre. It's got lots of variety on the menu, and staff are great with altering vegetarian items so they are vegan friendly. They also don't rush you, so this is a great place to catch up with family and friends. Staff are really pleasant, and humored us with some odd questions here and there. There are other restaurants with more authentic dim sum, but for an AYCE in such a good location in Brampton, with very modern ambiance, this place takes the cake!

Food is exactly as you'd expect from an Asian AYCE joint. Dim sum and Chinese food items as well as the sushi and Japanese options. Does not stand out from other Asian fusion restaurants.
Decor of the place is nice and clean, tablet ordering, courteous staff. Also like other Asian fusion restaurants.
Used a Groupon, otherwise I don't think I would have dined here.
Staff suggest to make a reso for Sunday's. Didn't have one but was seated as the rush came in after we were seated. 10 minutes later and we probably wouldn't be seated without a reso.
