Disappointed that during an extremely high level of Covid, no mandatory masking. Both technicians were unmasked, very few masks in waiting room. This is an essential service that vulnerable people need to use.
I like the virtual line set up for X-rays.

They have an amazing system at this establishment. I went for an x-ray which are on a walk-in basis, so I joined the online queue while I drove there and by the time I got there I only had to wait about 10 minutes. The x-ray technician Sam was very kind! Highly recommend and very glad this is where my doctor was able to get me a requisition.

I wouldn’t advise anyone to go here for a pregnancy related ultrasound. You are not allowed to watch the screen, can’t hear the heart beat, and can’t be told any information what so ever. If you choose to go be prepared to lie there in silence for the entirety of your ultrasound. I left my first dating u/s in tears yesterday. After waiting a week anxiously for this appointment to begin with, there was no communication what so ever. I was not even allowed to be told how far along I am. Absolutely nothing all I got from the technician was the same answer twice “your doctor will go over all the details” and that was it! I said can I have a picture at least? She said yes ask the front receptionist and she will email them to you. I thought ok that’s one good thing! Nope! I get to the front and they are trying to charge people 11$ to have 2 pictures EMAILED TO ME! Not even a physical copy. I think that’s absolutely disgusting. Also if I wanted to know how far along I was I could pay another fee to get my report emailed to me. They are trying to make a profit off of pregnant women and I think that’s horrible. I’ll never go back here. I have two children the most recent one being just 3 years ago and I never had to pay for a photo from my dating ultrasound before. I’ve also never ever not been told how far along I am!? I find it very bizarre and I am so disappointed yet again in avantia imaging for pregnancy specifically! Side note: I came here before once 3 years ago when I was pregnant and I had a horrific experience as well (the location was in old stittsville at that time) but the technician pushed on my belly so hard and was so rough I had bruising and was in pain for DAYS afterwards. It was very scary and upsetting. I have never had a good experience here during pregnancy it’s just so close to my home…but I will go the extra distance from now on and go to cleopatra womens ultrasound clinic they have never let me down.

To respond to what avantia has said: I have two children already and I have never not been told how far along I am. Must be new or just heavily inforced at your office because I’ve never experienced this before personally. This is the first time. Also cleopatra site charges 5$ for a cute printed photo in a cardboard frame … just to compare. And to charge for the medical report just makes absolutely no sense to me. You can’t share the information you say …. Unless you pay… lol… You are only willing to let people know about THEIR OWN health information if they pay you money… gross… So yes I will definitely not be using this facility anymore. Sure you may be fine for a quick X-ray or something but not for pregnancy

Very professional and kind staff, I was able to get a same day appointment and was seen quickly after arriving at the clinic, the technician was very professional. The clinic feels very clean and new. Highly recommend.

I recently saw my Dr concerning a new lump that was found on my arm. She recommended I have an ultrasound to get a better look at things. I had recently (for a different issue) had an appointment with Avantia a month before. At that time, the staff were professional and lovely so I requested going back to avantia (over an hour drive from my home) due to their availability of appointments and good experience.
This appointment did not go as well.
The technician greeted me and showed me to the room. He then asked me to show him the “mass”on my arm, which is under the skin and about the size of a toonie. He asked me then to show him
My other arm … and asked me “ are they different”? Ummm… yes they are different.there’s a lump. He then asked if a Dr had seen this “lump”? Yes…. That’s why I’m here. He then asked “ if the Dr examined it? ”. Of course she did…. That’s why I’m here.
I left feeling foolish and angry for taking a day off work to drive over an hour to get a mysterious lump examined that the technician clearly couldn’t see visually below the skin. I thought that was what the ultrasound was for?
I doubt I will request return visit based on this experience.

I looked all over the city and everywhere was fully booked for 1-2 weeks out. They were able to get me an appointment the next day. The location was very clean and the staff were friendly. They made sure I was comfortable throughout my visit. Best imagining clinic I’ve visited in Ottawa, I highly recommend coming here!

I went on a Saturday for an xray around 3pm and was seen in less than 15 min, which was amazing. I had to book my ultrasound with them for another day because they don't do walk-ins for that service, so I did that while I waited. They accommodated my schedule and booked me in the next 3 days which was great. Tory did my foot xray and it was quick and simple. She was also just an amazing person overall. Highly recommend this place even though its almost a 40 min drive from my home.

The receptionists were fine and very pleasant. However, the technician should be fired. I do not take that statement lightly. He was rude and argumentative. I had to remove all clothing from the waist up. He gave me one paper gown. I asked for a second one for modesty, which is absolutely standard at doctors offices and any other x-ray or mammogram clinic. I would guess that most women want their breasts covered when doors are open to the hallway. He argued with me that I didn't need it. I told him I needed it for when the door was open to the hallway. He was extremely rude. I told him I was already uncomfortable having him doing the procedure and he was making it worse. He told me to leave and go to the hospital to get the procedure done as that was the only other place. Which of course is an absolute lie. He was rude and rough during the entire procedure. I may take this complaint to whatever the governing body is for the technicians.

Had a good experience with them! Called for the appointment, got one in less than 36h. Staff was friendly and the clinic looks great inside. Results were turned quickly to my doctor.

I was very frustrated I was on hold for almost 20 min and then cut off and made to leave a message. If I had wanted to leave a message I would not have stayed on hold.get more staff and answer your phone's.emails.etc

During lockdown: very difficult to book an appointment. When it was booked I wasn't given an option and when trying to reschedule I can't reach anyone again.

The clinic itself and staff are nice and professional, every visit I have had has gone well. However, the booking system is absolutely maddening. You cannot call and speak to someone you have to either leave a voice-mail or submit online and they call you back. This can take one to multiple days and if you miss the call you're out of luck. I very much hope they change this system like any service as a patient you need to be able to speak to an actual person not a machine and then be at the mercy of a callback.

You will not be able to reach anyone by phone at this time. I missed their original call to book my appointment as I was in the shower and I called back 4-5 times a day (one day over 10 times), at least one voicemail a day for 4 days. I attempted to show up in person to get my appointment scheduled and noticed large bold signs that said do not enter without an appointment and that no appointments could be made by staff in the clinic so I left. Finally heard back on day 5.

I recently had an X-ray taken at this clinic and was very appreciative of all of their safety measures in place during Covid. There was minimal contact with employees or other patients, and protocols were taken seriously. I live with someone who is very high risk, and this clinic made me feel much more at ease. On top of that, the technician who performed my X-rays was extremely kind and friendly. I was in and out of there in less than 20 minutes, and my doctor received the results without a problem. Highly recommend if you are worried whatsoever about Covid risks.

I don't have good experience with the staff. Had my appointment at 745 and I was late for 10 minutes because I had trouble finding the place. They didn't explain to me why they 're not doing ultrasound. My first time with this company and last.

I booked my x-ray appointment online by submitting my requisition from my doctor. The requisition clearly stated I needed a specific x-ray angle of my knee.

My appointment was confirmed, so I go and the x-ray tech takes 4 images, but not the one that was required. I was surprised when she said she was done, and mentioned that we had not yet done the angle of x-ray that I had came here for (the only angle that would show if I had a problem). She responded that they don't do that angle there.

So WHY was my appointment confirmed in the first place if they apparently couldn't even do what I needed? I even asked my doctor about it when I saw him next and he agreed it made no sense because it's a VERY standard angle.

Not to mention the x-ray tech was not friendly and seemed to want to rush me out as soon as possible. Although I can't judge on that because I know sometimes people have bad days.

It's a new building but not a very welcoming atmosphere.

Overall, I would avoid this place. Honestly such a waste of my time as now I have to take more time off work to go somewhere else.

Very rude technologist (Laurel) that did not help in anything and was giving attitude.

Because it is COVID, I asked her to take a picture of the dating ultrasound for the baby and she said with attitude, NO you can purchase that for 11 dollars at the front desk, this is not was communicated to me over the phone when the appointment was booked, the front desk clerk went as far as saying we understand your loved ones want to be with you for this appointment but due to COVID restrictions we can't let them in so you can facetime them and show them the ultrasound during the appointment.

Also when I asked the Technologist (Laurel) about the heartbeat and if I can hear them, she said no you can't, everyone I knew heard their baby's heartbeat during such an appointment, she just told me that the heartbeat is good and in the end she was like tell your doctor your due date is this, not sure why she said that when a report will be sent to the doctor anyways.

I don't recommend this Imaging center or maybe just make sure you are not book with Laurel.

Will be switching my file to a different clinic, very bad first experience when it was supposed to be good.

Solid experience with these folks booking an x-ray during the Covid craziness, undergoing the scans the following day (!), and then impressive, attentive follow-up by Lisa.

A complete 180 from what I had been experiencing with other radiological facilities - which ran the gamut from hiding behind over-the-top Covid protocols, to "Give us a call mid-April. "

These folks get it done.

Treat you right.

And go above and beyond to ensure you are well-positioned for follow-up with your doc etc.

Efficacy personified.

This was my first time coming here. They were extremely fast. I walked from my car to the office and gave my requisition form to reception. They checked my health card and took my temperature. I sat in the waiting room for a couple minutes, then was called in. Ultrasound was done in minutes. From the time I left my car to the time I got back in it, was a total of 8 minutes. Perhaps the speed at which this appt was done is normal for this clinic, but it made me feel very uneasy.

I haven’t yet been in for my appointment yet however I got a call back from the receptionist today just to answer a few questions I had before my appointment. I’m a first time mom (which is difficult enough) and doing so during covid is even scarier. I don’t think it’s too difficult to simply be kind to your patients (who have made it clear it is my first time). Whoever I talked to I found very snarky and quite honestly, rude. I am pregnant for the first time, this is my first ultrasound and to top it off we don’t get to have support going into these appointments with us. I’m uneasy as it is, let alone now not even wanting to go to my ultrasound appointment because of this. Super disappointing but I’m hoping this is just the reception and hoping the technicians are much more pleasant

I have been to Avantia several times for various medical testing for both myself and my children. Every single time we have received excellent service and quality care. Highly recommend!

Upon arrival, I was told I needed an OHIP card which I dont have because I am in the Canadian Forces. I have been here 3 or 4 times before and now I'm being told they dont cover bluecross anymore. And that I would have to pay and figure it out myself. So there were 2 ladies (one in training) trying to figure out the computer. Meanwhile the ultrasound technician is roaming around waiting for me. I'm pacing, 30 weeks pregnant with a full bladder and wondering what the heck is taking so long. I have never been asked to pay anywhere before. I've been to many outside clinics, physio, xray, lab, chiro, civilian hospitals, optometry etc and I've never been denied because I dont have an OHIP card. It was ridiculous. Finally after just watching these ladies trying to figure out the computer for about 10mins, I said listen I'm out here with a full bladder, can we deal with the paperwork after? Then they finally clued in that I was still out there waiting for this ultrasound and the technician was also waiting. They said: oh ya, let's get you in there. Ugh. Awful experience. The technician was great! But the reception was awful

I didn't have the best experience with my pregnancy ultrasounds. The picture just didn't seem to be as clear as some other places I've been to (cleopatra site with my first child) and the worst part was that the technicians pushed down SO very hard on my stomach that I was in pain for days after I was almost in tears. They also kept shaking my belly repeatedly to get the baby to move to get a good picture. Wasn't pleasant. Never experienced that with my first child so I think I'll stick to Cleopatra for my future ultrasounds for my pregnancy. Other imaging I've had done there have been great just haven't had a great experience with my pregnancy.

Got a referral to get an x-ray and bussed all the way in. The technologist just decided to leave early that day (well before I was given the referral and hours of operation). In response the receptionists treated me (and an old woman who was also there) like an idiot. I dislike the staff as people as well as professionals.

Unfortunately, neither at the time of booking my appointment or when I arrived I was not told that I was a "fit-in". After waiting for an hour past my appointment time, seeing several people walk-in ahead of me I approached receptionist. She informed me at that time that I was a "fit-in" and the people that were coming in had appointments. Needless to say I could not wait any longer to be "fit-in", got my requisition back and booked an appointment elsewhere.

I had a Hydro Facial with Janice - esthetician, and it was AMAZING! She is super talented, knowledgeable and the facility was clean and welcoming. My skin looks incredible, youthful and feels great! Highly recommend!

This place goes the extra mile!

As a new blind father I was denied using a magnifier at another facility and was devastated and my wife in tears. We called this amazing group and dealt with Ramon. He did not hesitate to accomodate and even relayed the horror story of the previous place we went to. The owner stated he we have no issues doing whatever is needed so i can take part.

The ultrasound

We came in and there was a safe area for my guide dog and the monitor was low enough I could stand and have it at eye level (I am 5 8). Ramon explained every step and even zoomed in so I could see it. It was incredible!

Bottom line

I do expect a level of customer service and if everyone had this level there would be no need for reviews.

Thank you so much for treating me like a normal person and treating our family with such dignity and respect.

I have used The Stittsville Medical Imaging services at Avantia for all of my pregnancy ultrasounds, and they are amazing. The staff are all very kind and made such a wonderful time for me even greater. Very patient and willing to answer the million questions I had as a first time mom. Thank you all so much!:)

Friendly staff, and great results. I went in with a concern regarding acne flare ups and acne scarring in August. I was given a hydrafacial and began using the skincare products (Zo Skincare) suggested by Janice. My flare ups slowly reduced to the point of being non existent five months afterwards. Prior to my visit, I had tried everything including heavy duty medication and antibiotics. I feel confident in the services and products I purchased from Avantia Medical Imaging & Restorative Health and would recommend them highly.
