Absolutely the Best dark chocolate caramel clusters I have ever had and I have had a few…. Thank you

Today was my first time visiting the store and I was really disappointed.

I saw the store on my afternoon walk and thought I would go in to grab a little treat for my coffee. The second I walked in, I was greeted by relatively unfriendly staff who I got the sense wanted me in and out as soon as possible. I explained that it was my first time visiting so I wanted to have a look around, but they didn't seem too impressed with that, so after feeling uncomfortably watched in the small store for about a minute longer, and feeling pressured to leave, I grabbed a bag of the chocolate covered licorice by the door, paid, and left.

When I got home I really hurt my tooth biting into the licorice. It was rock hard- so hard I couldn't bend it at all, it just cracked in two. I don't know how long it must have been sitting there to become like that. The little bag was five pieces for $6.25, but that was money completely wasted because I couldn't eat any of it.

I'm really sad to be leaving this review because the shop itself and the chocolates seemed lovely, but the not at all fresh product I had, alongside the uncomfortable customer service, made it a disappointing first visit.

I haven't been in person to this place, but got a box of chocolate as a gift. They're absolutely gorgeous and delicious!

I don't normally leave bad reviews but I had a really disappointing/disturbing experience here so I felt it necessary to share my review. I follow Avoca Chocolate on instagram and was excited to try their products after reading the rave reviews, so I visited their location on Danforth on Thursday, November 24th 2022.

There was only one worker, a young man working the counter. I asked him for two truffles-one Mr. Bean and one Lost Alice-to go in a bag. To my absolute shock and horror, he began picking up the truffles with his bare, unwashed hands. He proceeded to cram the truffles into a small plastic bag, and when he couldn't get them to fit properly, manhandled them with his fingers some more to adjust the fit. I told him I wanted new truffles because I didn't want him touching them like that. He said okay and put on a plastic glove immediately, so I don't understand why he hadn't done that in the first place. He gave me two new truffles and charged me five cents for a small cardboard cup to put them in. I paid and left.

I ate the Mr. Bean truffle on my way out and found it mediocre and barely tasting of coffee. I tried the Lost Alice truffle next. I took one small bite and tasted stale, old chocolate and zero cherry. I tossed the rest of it out. (I later picked up some truffles from Stubbe where the workers washed their hands and donned fresh gloves and the chocolate was fresh and delicious.)

Overall, I was very disappointed in the product but more disgusted at the unsanitary handling of the chocolates. Furthermore, the truffles I refused were left on the counter, and I hazard to guess the worker put them back in the display case for the next hapless customer. To the owners, please ensure your workers use tongs or don fresh gloves when handling food products. In a time when COVID, flu, and RSV are running rampant, you'd think that would be a given.

High quality chocolate with a lot of interesting flavors and amazing shapes. Really good and luxurious experience in every bites. Looking forward to try the gelato next time!

I ordered chocolates from Avoca for an important customer and I didn't realize the distance between their shop and my customer's location - over an hour away. They could have passed on the business and I could have taken my business elsewhere, but they personally delivered it on a Saturday! Excellent customer service. Will definitely order from them again.

This place is truly special. Like something directly from Paris with the quality and artistry to match.

A really great chocolate and gelato place hidden on the side street from Danforth Ave. Their chocolates make great gifts for people.

I have traveled the world and tasted delicacies that are unimaginable to the common man. I have scoured both land and sea for any tantalizing tastes to tickle my tongue. The complexity of my palate is simply incomprehensible to any human being walking the face of the earth. I can say, without a doubt, Avoca chocolates are my favorite treat in all the world. The exquisiteness of these chocolates cannot be overstated. I have searched through the jungles of the Congo, I have swam through the blue of the Caribbean, I have climbed the treacherous Andes. All of this in search for the holy grail for my tongue. Let me tell you, at Avoca, I have found it. I search no more and have retired to my apartment on the Danforth utterly content. Thank you Avoca.

Visiting from out of town and this was a rare find. Everything was so delicious and the owner was so so kind.

What an absolute gem in Greek town, whether you are looking for a gift, or to indulge your self with a sweet treat Avoca rises above all others with natural flavors and friendly staff.

Flavourful and unique! Worth a visit for sure.

Tried a couple weeks ago, and was really happy with my ice cream. Kind of wish I ate the pistachio before the Nutella Since it wasn't very sweet, but both were real memorable. Feels like they use the best, which makes them great. Also makes them expensive. Paid $15 for two of their smallest cups.

Had the chocolate vegan ice cream, and was blown away. Never had anything vegan taste like that.

Friendly service and great knowledge of the chocolates. So excited to try the selection I picked this evening!
