Avoca Chocolates

I really wanted to love this charming little chocolate shop in our neighbourhood in an effort to support local and enjoy one of my favourite things: chocolate. I stopped in this afternoon to pick up a few things for Halloween gift baskets, but the price of everything left me a bit shell-shocked. I appreciate that this is a local shop, but some of the prices were, simply put, egregious. I decided, since I've never sampled their chocolate before, to play it safe and go with the chocolate covered Oreos. Upon checking out, I was surprised to see a "tip" suggested on top of the final charge. I'm not entirely sure what customer service I was tipping for, as I wasn't greeted upon entering, not asked if I had questions about their products, etc. But the most disappointing experience of all was sampling the actual product. I've eaten a LOT of chocolate (the good, the bad and the ugly) from a wide variety of shops (both local and chain), and this chocolate can only be described as stale-tasting and lack lustre. The cookie itself was also stale. I love supporting local whenever I can, but was left feeling very short-changed.

Cute little ice cream and chocolate spot with lots of potential. Could maximize on the schools and daycares in the area more if they so chose to. We stop in for ice cream on the way back from daycare some days. Staff are lovely and ice cream is pretty good. Only issue is for some reason their aircon is either non existent or very limited and it always feels like 30 degrees in there when it’s remotely warm out. Will return regardless as it’s in my toddlers line of sight walking home and sometimes you just have to pick your battles

I bought some gelato and chocolates. They were both great. The staff seemed a bit new, as they hesitated to explain a few things, but she was very friendly and allowed me to try several flavours before i decided on one.

Great neighbourhood ice cream store! The ice cream is dense and not filled with air as compared to the store bought brands giving it a rich, creamy taste. Tried the Nutella gelato and chocolate chip ice cream, both were fantastic

Absolutely love this place and everything about it. BEST gelato in Toronto, maybe even Canada. Same with the truffles!

Yummy vegan gelato and very nice employees. The only problem is the very high price for a small portion.

The Artisan chocolate selection is great. The ice cream is not bad. However I was surprised on the small portions compared to other ice cream parlors

The ice cream here is incredible, stopped in after trying out their two other locations and it is worth the stop. Great ice cream, and the Nutella and vegan dark chocolate gelato are to die for!

The homemade chocolates from Avoca are absolutely outstanding! A wonderful selection, and each one is like a precious jewel of deliciousness. Beautiful presentation. They make the PERFECT gift.

Will most certainly come back for more! If you live in the neighborhood, do yourself a favor and visit for an icecream.

Nice place and really good customer service. The place also has coffee and a light food menu but didn't try them.

We often visit this place whenever we go to leaside area. Best roasted marshmallow ice cream EVER. Please visit their store whenever to come to this area.

A chocolate shop offering a tasty assortment of chocolate truffles and ice cream. Shop is small with 3 stool seats so it's mostly a take-out spot.

A nice quiet place in a quiet neighborhood to have a cup of hot chocolate, buy some chocolates, or have an espresso and some pastry. The coffee is quite good. The madeliennes are delicious. They also have ice cream. The sitting is limited: only one table with two chairs and some barstools at the bar in the window, probably because they don't get crowded, and this is also the good part about this place.
