I live down the road, been coming here for at least 7 years. Used to be a great place, but now it's gotten horrible.

Extremely rude service, miserable people that constantly cut you off on the PA system when trying to order. The people hired here have a disgusting attitude towards paying customers.

You completely lost my business with the crummy people you decided to hire.

Not to mention the astronomical prices and sloppy put together burgers.

Hope it was worth it. Never coming here again

If u could give you zero stars I would. I ordered a beyond meat burger for Uber eats delivery with like every effing toping on it. I had a horrible day and was craving it so bad. When I opened the bag there’s was NO toppings at all, not a single one just the burger and the bun. To whoever made my burger, I hope every item of food u order anywhere is always wrong and they always mess it up. I’m so sad rn I could cry.i just wanted a toppings on my burger. Do better.

Service was good. Coffee is not that good (comparing Tim's) but the spicy chipotle chicken wrap was good and the deal was good. 3 rating is because of the coffee.

They charge extra you, not like other locations and A girl working there she's very rude

I went late night and staff was very Nice and polite. But one patty served was burnt. Wasted of money. I have asked them to make it fresh but I think they put the old patty into the oil again.

Don’t order from here, the Menu isbWAY OVER PRICED however on Upperjames Branch the Menu is cheaper for delivery

Worse made burger I ever had. Most of the cheese was in paper cover. Took 1 bite and most topping fell out

I don’t know what’s wrong with the chubby chicken burger in this outlet. The sauce on the burger was next to nothing.

Messed up my order. I like the restaurant chain but a lot of individual stores are dragging down the quality of the product and have ZERO disregard for customer service.

Don’t know how to run a Business takes my order makes me wait 15 mins then tells me there machines don’t work that I have to pay cash of course at the time I didn’t have cash and refused to swerve me after taking my ordering and making me wait and tell me there’s nothing they can do. No manger on duty and did not handle it professionally at all.

Literally the best beyond burgers. They make them with care here. Nothing sloppy, exactly to your custom specification!

Hey there listen up.coming to A&W for over half a century now since before they closed and reopened again. Here, Ancastor, for over a year now, still great food, service and same awesome taste as always. Never had a problem till today when I used the app special offer but was charged twice the price to my credit card. When I told the manager there with the glasses, bang, he totally refunded my card immediately and charged me only the app special offer price. GREAT SERVICE, GREAT PEOPLE.even though i am about as tech savvy as an empty paper cup, probably my fault anyway but HE HELPED ME OUT.you got that, good, then you can stop listening to any bad reviews about this A & W cause if you don't like it they'll make it right. Happy Holidays Everyone.

Lol everything here is extra! $0.50 for lettuce $0.50 for a single slice of tomato, extra for cheese, extra $$$ for onion rings! They also have horrible tables, i smashed my knee while sitting down.the lady wouldn’t even refill my drink! How cheap! I hate this place worst A&W in ontario

Very Rude staff. I ordered through Uber and got a completely opposite order. I called the restaurant and the staff was very rude. Not at all understanding or nice to speak to. I told the guy I understand if it is not your mistake but we want our correct order and cannot reach Uber on the phone. He bluntly said it not my mistake and that I should call uber if I need any help. Now we are 6 people with no food and no help from the restaurant and waiting for uber to contact us which can take how long no one knows. Such a pathetic experience with Uber and with A&W Ancaster staff. Never ordering again.

I have never ordered food online until December 2020. I ordered from A&W and I enjoyed the food. Once when my burger was burned, so I complained. They refunded the money, but after that once in few orders they kept messing up my order. I changed the store. This store burned my burger, too. And after that I did the same thing. They started missing drinks. I didn't get the refund once and today just now. I requested for beyond meat burger with no lettuce and I received my burger with just lettuce, no buns and the patty. Done with you A&W. Never ordering from you ever again.

Great coffee, great root beer, nice atmosphere, & great fries made from Canadian russet potatoes.

The food is always good but the man who looked like the owner or manager was not friendly and handed us the foods with attitude. Very unprofessional.

A&W has been my favorite burger restaurant amongst the others. Just had lunch in this location and I swear it is the best A&W location I have ever tasted. Thank you for your service

Loved everything as usual but seemed like the onion rings had more batter on them than usual if I were to be picky. But still delicious

A&w is always the best of the fast food burger restaurants, and this location is no different.
They have the best breakfast you can get in fast food, but unfortunately this location doesn’t open until 7: 00 am, leaving many us us potential customers with only low quality McDonald’s food to eat in this vicinity.

I think the location would do well to open at 6 am to serve people such as myself breakfast.

Inconsistent food /service/slow.after having several problems with our last order we took it to the owner who was not pleasant to deal with. I feel for the staff working at his establishment.

This is the better A&W in the Hamilton and surrounding area. The food is consistently prepared right each time I’ve ordered here. One of the cleaner locations as well. Owner is pleasant and friendly when he’s around. I only subtracted one star because I’ve had less then friendly service from a couple cashiers who are more preoccupied with rushing you.
Overall the best choice for ‘fast food’ in the area.

First off the owner is fantastic. He cares about his business, he employs decent people who are fluent in english. A great success story of a dedicated entrepreneur. I have a lot of personal respect for him.

Food is always fresh, more so than any other A&W in the area. To be honest, this is the only good A&W in the area. Upper James serves cold food all the time and Rymal can't accept orders in english depending on who is staffed.

Shell gas in the same plaza. Fill up your sports car with Formula Shell 91, grab a Double Teen with Onion Rings and we're off.

Try it during the day when the owner is in. He runs a tight ship.

A little disappointed. All I wanted was a quick meal. Waitress was in such a rush to serve me and move on that she didn't even ask what I wanted, and just served a root beer. Nobody else in line, just a car or two in the drive through. A&W prides itself on its nostalgia.none here in the service department. Food was good, service less than satisfactory, all because of one pretentious person.

Love their food. They have hands down the best spicy chipotle dip anywhere. My wife is convinced the burgers don't taste as good since they started advertising antibiotic free so you may want to bring your own antibiotic seasoning. Lol

I would not recommend this location. The staff is rude and the prices are more expensive compared to other franchise locations. I had a horrible experience with an employee at this location last night. When i approached the counter the employee was not friendly and had a bad attitude. She asked me my order twice although i already stated it and was very clear. Then when i recieved my order i proceeded to the dine in area when i heard her rudely say that i can't sit on the one side as it is closed. I was just waiting there. I wanted to stay to eat however after her rude tone i decided to leave. I will not be going back to this location. That staff member in particular needs to learn what good and acceptable customer service skills are

Ancaster location charges more for breakfast combos then all other locations. They also said they are the only ones that charge extra for lettuce and tomatoes. All because he owns this one and not the other ones in Hamilton. Why not charge the same as the rest? Just because it is Ancaster?

Quick and convenient. Good quality products and service. A big plus.they almost don't use plastic. Almost everything is made of paper or cardboard. Recyclable and clean.

Nice tosee the owner on site to make sure your order is correct. Finding that A&W is getting a little pricey, but the food is good tasting at this location. Much better than the location at rymal rd and highway 56.

Great place to grab a quick bite. Best of the FF burgers in the area. Service is always quick and courteous.

Ordered spicy habenero with extra sauce and asked for fresh one and even I asked that I can wait no prblm. I was barely able to listen the lady taking order. Received order at window and I asked the girl at window with curly hair that it’s fresh she said yes but when I came home and I found that is was so cold. I ordered special order for somebody else. We love this sandwich and when we ordered this same sandwich at other location near rymal but that was so awesome. Didn’t expected such service from this location.

I ordered 2 meals, the lady that took my order said they do not do combos there and charged me for everything separate came to 34 bucks. So I saw that the owner was there and asked why they dont follow the same rules as other chains. He started yelling at me in front of my young daughter and was screaming at me to leave. All because I asked a simple question.everyone be warned.this owner is a scammer. I will be talking to head office about this.

Place was great. Service was friendly. She took time to explain each item as it came out (we had 4 burgers with different toppings).

Although the rootbeer does come in the chilled mugs at this location the Teen burgers were fresh hot & priced right at the sale price

If you were worried about eating at an a&w in a gas station, don’t be.this was the best a&w i’ve ever had, CONSISTENTLY.
