Azyun Restaurant

Amazing find! Hidden gem at Main Street Markham, we loved all their food items. Exceptional and friendly service. We had their appetizer sampler which consisted of chilled noodles (amazing), Brussel sprouts (amazing), shaved eggplant (exceptional) and the smoked edamame (very good), we were floored just by that. We also had their seafood dumpling which was very good but their recommended truffle fried rice made our meal perfect! All in all, will definitely go there again, great job! Lots of street and alley parkings available near the restaurant.

Wasn’t quite sure about how long they held this establishment here but the place was boutique, pub vibe inside. I would have loved to try more of the menu as it was a Chinese infusion as far as I saw and their cocktail menu looked quite impressive!

Delicious food and pretty good value for the tasting menu! I really enjoyed the Brussels sprouts and fried chicken. Definitely worth trying out if you’re in the area.

We had the pleasure of dining at Azyun for the first time tonight to celebrate my wife’s birthday. It was my wife, our toddler daughter and myself. The restaurant is small and cozy. Staff is very friendly. The kitchen is open so you get a view of the chef in action. The menu is Asian fusion and is honestly amazing. We tried almost everything on the menu. However sadly a few items we really eagerly wanted to try were unavailable such as the Brussels sprouts and Uni Risotto.

For starters we enjoyed the Banchan Platter which included the Cold Noodles,
Eggplant and Torched Edamame. Our daughter absolutely loves the noodles. The marinated eggplant was so delicious that I ordered another round for myself.

We also had the original dumplings, house curry, Azyun Spring Rolls, Pho Spiced Tartare, Indonesian Shrimp Toast, Shrimp Laksa, Pork Belly Buns, and Truffle Fried Rice… and yes. We finished it all. That’s how amazing it was.

For drinks my wife had the Manila Baby and I enjoyed the Pina Col-Nada (the smoked pineapple really makes this drink pop)

Overall highly recommend for a night out!

We tried many things from the menu. The food was tasty, very fusiony and my family enjoyed it, including our toddler.
It’s a cute little restaurant and food came pretty quickly. The portions are quite small for the price compared to similar restaurants. The only thing that was substantial was the Truffle Fried Rice if ordered in large. It’s more tapas-style and everything is family style, so either order many things or don’t come starving. Mocktails were interesting. I liked the Manila Baby, was refreshing.

We came on a Saturday night and there were only a couple other tables. Music was quite loud for our toddler, so this is probably more suitable for a date night or hangs with friends. Closes pretty early.

The pork belly buns and eggplant dish were great. Indonesian shrimp toast, pho tartare and spring rolls were good too. Our daughter liked the soba noodles. The laksa is not actual laksa, it’s basically thick curry shrimp with puffed fried vermicelli. Good, but only maybe 5-6 pcs of shrimps.

Bathrooms are downstairs, a bit claustrophobic but fairly clean. That’s what matters.

Amazing food! 10/10! This chef knows what he’s doing Chinese pork buns were UNREAL *chefs kiss* everything was really good, perfectly cooked and incredible flavours. We will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu as soon as we can! Cute atmosphere and delicious menu cannot wait to try again! Highly recommend eating here!

Nothing but good things to say about this place! Had a delicious meal, fantastic service (I regret not catching his name), and the vibe was on point.
Definitely would recommend the carp caviar risotto and the soft shell crab curry, however the star was the Chinese buns. The filling (brisket and pulled pork) were great, but the baos were the best part, so soft and fluffy! Absolutely coming back!

We ordered the cold noodles, truffle fried rice, and fried chicken and matcha waffles (I was feeling adventurous). Overall the food was so delicious: the truffle fried rice was so fragrant and umami (or as my friend put it, an “umami bomb”) ; the cold noodles were okay; and the chicken was SO JUICY AND HOT. My only complaint is with the blueberry syrup, which had the frozen blueberries taste. I would definitely come again to try their other dishes

Disappointed with this place. From the menu/appearance of resto, I expected high quality food.

Food was subpar and way overpriced. Brussels sprouts were done well but a ridiculous price for maybe 6 pieces at most. The group I was with all agreed that their individual meals were subpar but expensive.

My Bao was short of good. No flavour and buns were so cheap. I ordered 2 different kinds. Then the waiter tried to convince me to get a different kind from what I ordered, but I said no. He continued to put in the order for the kind I didn't ask for. Then delivered it to my table and I was shocked. I told him this is not what I ordered but he told me to try it and see if I liked it. I didn't. Not sure why I couldn't even get my order fulfilled. He seemed salty and upset for the rest of the night. Horrible customer service.

The BBQ platter is overpriced. Flavour is blend and they charge for sauce. Both my husband and myself still feel hungry after the dinner. They sent the coupons over FB the afternoon before we visited and denied to honour it. The menu overstated what would be included and when I pointed out the mistakes they brushed me off at the beginning. To them customers should accept dishonourable coupons and they have the right to overstated what is included in the menu. The whole experience was very upsetting. Avoid at all costs. There are plenty of restaurants in that area I am sure any other restaurants will be better than this one.

Azyun specializes in modern fusion Asian cuisine. I did enjoy their BBQ themed menu, but felt the food portions were small for the price. Flavour profiles were balanced and well seasoned. Unfortunately, our night was ruined by the terrible service. The waiter could not remember who ordered what drinks when addressing our table and forgot our fried chicken. I heard chefs rotate and do waiting shifts. Not a bad idea to prevent complacency, but this guy should be kept away from any sort of customer interaction. He killed it and not in a good way.

A gem on Main Street Markham!

So we ended up trying Azyun quite by chance. I had made reservations at another restaurant for Father's Day but they changed their menu to a buffet and I decided to try something else instead. So took my family to Azyun Restaurant on main street Markham based on the reviews I read and due to the close proximity to our home. We opted for dinner for 4 so that we could try out a few items from the menu. We tried the Saki for our drink, then a mixed appetiser platter (the eggplant was ridiculously yum), and for our courses choose beef tartare, duck chowmein, crab toast, beef shank, steak and paella. Everything we were served was absolutely DELISH with the exception of the paella. There was plenty food for the 4 of us and we left the place Happy! Its a small place with limited seating but the ambience is cool with a good vibe and an open kitchen. We give it our thumbs up and recommend it to anyone who wants to try out something different.

Great food and friendly staff! We had the truffle fries, the BBQ pork, pork buns and dumplings, and each one tasted delicious!

Food is awesome! Had corn soup as starter, prime rib and beef brisket dumplings that was out of this world and a pineapple custard for dessert. They play host to a small wedding tonight and their customer service and hospitality was out of this world. Would absolutely come again.

Went here a week ago and forgot to review it because I wad too busy talking about it to my friends lol. Anyway amazing food and the guy that served us and made our drinks really knew all the minutiae of the food and drinks which is a great tell of how much pride he had in his work which I GREATLY appreciate. Can't wait for my next visit!

We REALLY liked the appetizers like chilled noodle and eggplants hands down. So damn good. I can have these every day.

Paella had such a strong conch flavour overpowering everything which I thought could've easily been swapped by shrimp? I'm just assuming they were testing out more innovative combos but really didn't work for me.

Fried chicken tasted great but I think it was a wrong call by me, assuming their other dishes might have been more innovative and has flavour combinations that I've never tasted. The homemade kimchi was a nice touch and tasted great but I think I still prefer pairing fried chicken with sour and crispy veggies (pickled radish, coleslaw etc) to balance out the heaviness.

Mackerel was thoroughly de-boned which I know takes work, and the sauce was nice too but mackerel is mackerel. Its own flavour is always so strong and you can't really experience something new because of that. So if you love mackerel no matter what, it's definitely for you.

My friend recommended the truffle fried rice and yeah, this hits a good spot. I definitely enjoyed this one the most in the mains.

Drinks were alright. I honestly don't remember much about them, didn't leave strong impressions but they were not bad either.

Nice food, though for the price, it's ok. The server was really nice and friendly, kept updating us on our order and explained the dishes. Would recommend the soft shell crab laksa curry and the ribs. The fried chicken was not bad. The drinks were great!

Great food and great space. Service was good - good came quickly and the server was friendly. We ordered the four person meal option and felt that the portion was just big enough to fill us.

One of the best dinners i've ever had.i had the meal set for two, shared with my boyfriend for our nine year anniversary.we ordered the chilled noodles, marinated eggplants, pho beef tartare, pork chop, and truffle fried rice.the chilled noodles was our least favourite, but it was not bad by any means, the other dishes were just so amazing that it overshadowed the noodles (our favourite was probably the beef tartare). The service was great and our server, who i believe is the owner, was very informative and helpful when providing drink options and when serving the dishes.would recommend to anyone, will definitely be coming again!

Got the dinner for two. Dishes were really good but I would say it was slightly better prior to covid days. Fried chicken had an amazing crisp to it and truffle fried rice had the wok flavours.

The eggplant was a tad too salty.

Lighter seasoning overall on all the dishes would be perfect.

Great, cozy atmosphere for anyone who wants to come by and have a nice, quiet meal and good convos.

Service was fantastic. Food was even better. Definitely recommend the truffle fries rice and the Chinese buns, more specifically the pork belly! It was unfortunate that that they were out of duck and desserts but still highly recommend.

This was my second time to Azyun gotta say that I loved it. So far have tried just about everything on the menu. Food was great and service excellent. Will definitely be back again.

I expected it to be a good experience; I didn't expect it to be this GREAT an experience! Wow! Every item we ordered had a distinct and very enjoyable flavour. Sad they had run out of desserts. But of course I'm coming again.

Had a great dining experience on first visit, definitely won't be the last! We were attacted by some unique options on the menu (Truffle!? Paella!?) We picked the set menu for two and tried the chilled noodles, torched edamame, spring rolls, buttermilk fried chicken and truffle fried rice (sooo good!). Each dish was delicious and the portions were perfect for sharing between two people. The presentation was great and the service was excellent. Highly recommend adding lobster & seafood dumplings as a side because they were mouth-watering good. We already know we want to try the curry crab and seafood paella next, so we'll be going back again soon!
