Bad Axe Throwing Waterloo

This was my first time axe throwing and man was it AWESOME! We got to try so many different ways of throwing, getting harder each time, and although it was hard, it was so rewarding when the axes finally stuck! Definitely going back to Bad Axe Throwing in Waterloo!

Wow so much fun! Did the walk in and space was available right away. The staff was super friendly and helpful (for those first timers). Will definitely go again soon!

Amazing place when there today for walk in for the first time playing and had a blast did not get the guys name but he was so helpful and showed us different things and was very very helpful and because of it going to joining the league in the new year and going back next week to play again and buying my first axes as well

I never thought ax throwing could be such a fun sport!
After a short tutorial from the girl at the checkout, off we go.
It's not as dangerous as you might fear, it relieves nerves and any tension and it's great fun. When the ax hits the wooden target, the unmistakable sound is a rush of pure adrenaline.
It's a shame it doesn't yet exist in Italy.

Went with my girlfriend as a walkin. The coach was very fun, gave her some pointers since she was brand new, and had us laughing a lot. At the end he gave us double axes, and took pictures. Great time, would recommend going with friends or a close one.

Our family had a great time at Bad Axe tonight. Our host, Artie, was helpful AND hilarious. Would highly recommend!

Had such a great birthday party for my husband last night at Bad Axe in Waterloo. We originally were booked for Dec. 24th but couldn't make it due to a snow storm.

They let us rebook, so that was awesome. Artie was great at welcoming us and giving us instructions.

My only negative comment was one of the boards in our lanes was pretty chewed up when we arrived and fell apart about an hour in. They said it would take 15 to 20 minutes before they could change it. Since that would take us to almost the end of our reservation we said we'd all play on the other intact board in our lane. It did slow us down abit.

We’ve been to bad axe before and it is fun but it is SO expensive. Last night We had the space from 6-7: 30 and it was $300. Just seemed so expensive for only 1.5 hours. We only got one game in. Probably won’t return at that price

We had fun but why was the bar not stocked? Everyone wanted to drink and there was no beer or white wine available.

My friends from work and I had the best time here at Bad Axe Throwing! Our axe master was Artie and Artie was so supportive and helpful during our time there. I loved how they had little competitions for us to do which made the time go by smoothly and allowed us to have even more fun. The atmosphere was amazing and the safety guidelines were on point. I would definitely recommend and I will be returning with more friends!

Went for a staff party on a Monday night! They had opened for us which was super nice! Our instructor Artie was super helpful and made sure to give us lots of tips on how to improve our throws! We had a blast and will absolutely come back again!

We were there on Dec 30th as a group of 6 and had booked private lane with expert coach. The activity of axe throwing with a group of friends is always fun. However, there was no "coach" and we were basically left to figure it out as we went. Only "coaching" was in the beginning on how to hold and throw an axe. This was unlike earlier experiences elsewhere where the coach helps you correct your technique on the go, as well as conducts fun games by dividing up the group in teams, etc. There was not even a walk by to check in how the folks were doing, or if the boards needed replacing.

Also, the beer fridge was essentially empty with no selection "craft Beer" as promised on the website - we only had Molson Canadian and Waterloo Radler available.

There was only one person managing the facility, bar, etc. In all fairness, the individual was very respectful when talked to.

Bottomline: you can never go wrong with Axe Throwing as a fun activity. However, the promised experience was not delivered at the Waterloo location, especially when compared to other places that offer Axe throwing as well other Bad Axe locations.

We booked Bad Axe Throwing as a staff bonding event. We had a team of 13.
Booking was easy! Everyone paid once we got there.
The staff was patient and friendly. They gave us instructions and let us THROW.
Artie was super great! Watched as we threw and gave pointers to a few to help improve their throws!

Highly recommend Bad Axe Throwing.
I would go back with both a large and small group.
Bar was open. Lots of laugh and a very successful bonding experience with our staff

Had a great time at this place! The reason for the less than stellar review was due to a long wait time to get on a lane as a walk-in. Were asked to wait and the staff would find us when a lane opened in approximately 15 minutes. After approximately 1hr when lanes had been open for easily 20 or more mins, we had to find the staff member we spoke to and ask if we could get on a lane. This was met with surprise, like the staff hadn't seen us before and they were prioritizing and booked group that were already set up and playing. That said, we were handed off to another staff member and were set up immediately and we did end up having a great evening. Would recommend coming here despite the struggles of getting on a lane. Will likely return in the future.

I went axe throwing here for the first time. Artie was really helpful and friendly and gave a great tutorial of how to throw. Right on target!

This was our first time trying axe throwing and my wife and I had a blast! We used the walk-in package on a busy Saturday night but still got a lane in like 20 minutes. The staff were awesome and got us going very quickly with a quick tutorial on how to throw. Even when we missed or it bounced off, we still were laughing and having fun.

Would definitely recommend!

We had a great night at Bad Axe Waterloo and had a lot of fun learning how to properly throw an axe! Enjoyed some drinks and the music was also great. Will definitely be back!

We continue to enjoy all that Bad Axe Throwing Waterloo has to offer. Our family's annual Axe Throwing Competition included the excellent refresher of technique from our great coach Luke. The ability to take in our own snacks & the cocktails (we had designated drivers for the ride home) provided by Bad Axe provided the "party" atmosphere. Luke arranged the games for us so that all we had to do was enjoy the afternoon. Our family gathered from Mildmay, Naicam-SK, Ottawa & Walkerton for the event & we look forward to this every year. Thanks for a great venue!

Luke was absolutely amazing! Definitely has a great sense of humour and was great at showing us what to do!

Had a staff Christmas party at Bad Axe and it was great. They were really easy to deal with to make arrangements and everyone had a lot of fun.

Last night I set up a surprise 30th birthday party for my husband at Bad Axe. It was a huge hit with our friends and we all had a great time. Our coach, Luke, was a great teacher and host. The various games were all fun and challenging. I’ve been to three different axe throwing businesses and this was by far the favourite. Highly recommend!

We had a great time! Luke made the night even better with his personality and fun games to play. Will definitely be back!

We went axe-throwing for my birthday and had a great time. The staff was friendly and helpful and the place is nicely set up with lots of space. The price is reasonable. We are planning to go back.
