Baghlan Kabob & Bakery

This place needs to be checked out asap by Ontario Health Department. I don't know how this place is even open? ! When you enter inside, the smell of mold is so strong. I feel disgusted! I didn't even buy food and left.

I wish i could give zero stars. Theyre lucky to even get one. Lets just start with the service, the lady in the front was all over the place, on the phone while taking our order and others orders while still on the phone. There were more than enough women taking orders but they all ran to the back. The food, was so dry the chicken the chaplee, the kabobs, everything was so over done it was so dry. The rice such a small portion. For an “afgan” restaurant the food had no taste, no flavour nothing. Such a disappointment. We ended up waiting over 30 mins for our food (keep in mind it was my family and another family sitting down), other had take out and left quickly. But a family of 8 comes in and waited less than 15 mins. But we were a family of 4. My kids became so frustrated waiting for the food.
The drink option’s extremely limited, and the water they gave in the glass bottle was tap water sitting by the cashier.

I expected better giving with their previous reviews.

Iv had better cuisine with better flavour and better waiting time.

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely restaurant in, The service is unmatched. We were served by this lovely girl Tuba who helped us out. The staff truly cares about your experience and they are so friendly and The food is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in our mouths. Absolutely the best meal we had while in, Highly recommend!

Today experience was bad.
Taste wasn't the same, and not well done.

Ordered a mixed chicken plate I was expecting Afghan flavours in the food but to my surprise it had no flavour. The chicken was tasteless. The food colouring was good but chicken had absolutely zero taste.

Great place to get a package 3,5, or 7 persons. The portions are enough and the food is delicious,

The food was great; the jouja and tandoori chicken, along with the beef kofta kabobs
were cooked to perfection and moist, the rice was so flavourful and the naan was fresh & soft. This is the BEST Afghani food I have ever had! Love their green and white sauces

Chicken drumsticks are different every time I order the drumstick with rice item. I got half burnt drumsticks for the third time yesterday so I had to skip the times when these drumsticks were good. I hope the staff has eyes which they can use the next time they give a customer burnt drumsticks.

Food quality is very low today I ordered beef wrap and rice believe me low quality very much expensive bad experience

I have dined here several times. Food is always fresh and delicious. Prices are very reasonable. I appreciate that thay made it affordable for people to dine in and get fresh food at a reasonable price. Staff is super friendly!

Took my mom out to grab dinner for home. Discovered this place. Got to say the pricing is on point. Very reasonable. The food was excellent. Got the Chicken Drumstick Dinner that comes with 4 drumsticks, a salad, naan, and spicy sauce. All for the daily special for 7.99. Can't beat that! Did i mention the food was excellent? Mama approved it as well I got it for her and she's a very picky eater. She loved it. Oh and the front staff lady was very nice, patient and informative! Definitely one of our top 10 places to go to if were around the Rexdale area.

The best Afghan restaurant in the GTA. They have amazing food n reasonable price for the potion of food they give you. Chaple kabob with nan is highly recommended

The best Afghan restaurant in all of Toronto in terms of food and I’ve tried a lot. It’s not a fancy restaurant but their food is inexpensive and good. I would recommend their beef chaplee and their bread is sooooooo good. Their joujeh chicken breast was a little dry. Service is ok and there is no ambiance. I also ordered a family platter before and they place everything on one dish. It would be great to have the in separate containers so you can serve to guests.

The best Afghan kabob in Toronto, and possibly the best outside of Baghlan Afghanistan! Fresh, hot, and the best quality. The portions are very generous and served up quickly. We had the Waziri kebab tonight and it was perfect. The taftun bread was straight out of the oven and so good! My husband has come many times with his coworkers and they share one of the generous platters. Even at 8: 00 on a Sunday night the takeout trade was very busy. This is very much a hidden gem in Toronto

Wow, lots of great tasting food at a reasonable price. Our plates were overflowing with food and a huge plate of Naan was complementary.
I highly recommend this place.

I used to love coming here 4-5 years ago but the food quality and proportions have went down hill over time. The prices are $3-$4 higher but the containers are smaller… not worth it anymore.

Delicious food. Freshly made. Highly recommend you try everything on their menu. You can't go wrong.

Writing this review while waiting for my butter chicken more than 40 mins, all the people who ordered at the counter got served before me and from the looks of it looked like the boy at the counter remembered to pass the order when I reminded him, he kept telling me “its coming for more than 10 mins alone”, Zero for customer service. Will never go there again, tried it for the first time and will be the last.

Yum yum Yum some of the best Afghan food u will have anywhere in the GTA! My fav is the double kofta kebab wrap. Always fresh so u have to wait a little bit this is not fast food and friendly service give them a try!

Great experience, definitely recommended the food. Meat tasted really good. Wish to have some extra side sauces but beside that it was good. Staff were very pleasant and polite even busy with a lot of orders. Would definitely will try their other dishes.

I wanted catering service for 12 hungry men at work. I called Baghlan and they took care of everything. We had so much extra food. I still get asked where did i get the food! They loved it!

Great price, their butter chicken special lunch is reasonable, with good qty & taste. Rest others rolls are good too.

The food was very tasty and filling. They served us even when we went around closing time. A real good place to eat and experience afghan hospitality

I have tried their sultani kebab and chicken tandoori, they are very delicious. One should try their food.

Great authentic Afghan food. They r just 2 busy and the wait for food is long, but it's worth it.

Chicken jouja is tasty, rice is good and i like the salad as well as the bread. The butter chicken has an additional seasoning added which is unusual for me so i probably wont get that again.

Excellent Afghan food. On par with if not better than Bamiyan. Just be forewarned, they only accept debit or cash, no credit.

Used to be Great place for Afghani food, however the have poor service quality. Very rude cashier, some time I feel insulted. I totally stop going there any more.

The food was great; the jouja chicken was cooked to perfection and moist, the naan was fresh & soft. However, the rice was a little al den·te, would have preferred it be cooked a bit more but overall, this is one of the best Afghani food I have ever had! To the owners, please always ensure you have the red and white sauces like you did today.

I visit this restaurant many times a year! This is the best place to grab a bite. I visit this spot frequently. The food is of high quality, the staff is courteous and the cost is decent. I enjoy being in this restaurant to have a decent lunch.

There food is amazing my 6 year old love there tandoori chicken. The service is very fast. Also the the price and portion is reasobable I highly recommend this restaurant to my friends and family keep up the great service

In my opinion chicken skewers were good but seekh Kabab and Chapli Kabab need to be improved. Naan were good.

Good food and friendly service. The meat and rice was extremely flavourful. The value was fairly decent; two of us ate for $34. The Afghan bread was very unique. We enjoyed the meal throughly. I would definitely come again.

Third class service. Guys there price is the same as bamiyan or khandhar kabob. I got chicken kabob no white sause no chill sause was served. It was a take out. Please visit kandhar and see in same price how much nicely they serve food
Restaurnt is so unhygenic. The cash girl put there jackets on the breads that is put at backgroud counter. Extremely disappointed. Just went there because i read the reviews and rating i give it zero out if 10

Never ate here but I was coming home from work around 2AM and I didnt have my phone to call home. I asked one of the worker who was bringing meat in for cooking. He replied rude and said we dont have phones. Ill never try this restaurant.

I used to come here always but today when I went for the dinner I was very very disappointed by their service. A new brown server was there who seemed very unprofessional and unhelpful. They gave me a small portion of salad and huge rice. When I told her she says it’s the amount we give but I’m coming here for 3 years! Didn’t give us any chutney which was included in the meal and said it has finished. Didn’t even offer to compensate with anything. Also when my husband said can I get some white sauce? She just denied! With this lady’s behaviour I’m astonished! Not coming here anymore!

This location used to serve fresh food for take out customers but not anymore. Jack up the price plus mixing old food with new especially with takeout customers. Like 1 new kabob and 2nd old under fresh one. Nan allso mixing with old.heating the old nan and mixing with new.food is not free we are paying for the food.

Always come because the food is always fresh and made to order (long wait times). Prices are reasonable and the flavors of the meat are excellent.

Good service and amazing authentic Afghan cuisine. Friendly staff, great for large or small gatherings. I've tried other Afghan restaurants such as bamiyan, but the meat quality and bread are much superior here. I definitely recommend to all.

Tried kofta wrap and individual kofta kabobs and they were delicious and fresh. Great value for money!

Great place with excellent Afghan food. It's not pricey at all and the quality of the food is amazing. Be prepared to wait, but it is worth it.

Our visit here was a bit unfortunate as we were the victims of circumstance. After reading all of the great reviews, I convinced my friend to make the 45 minute drive out to this place. We took a wrong turn off the highway which resulted in us getting there ~20 minutes before close. To make matters worse, the staff was exhausted after serving a massive party that left their small seating area a mess. My friend and I were denied seating which I really did not appreciate. As expected, the kitchen prepared our meals with no patience or care. Everything was apparently hastily thrown together. Meats were great quality but a bit dry as though previously grilled. Meal was very rice-heavy. I empathize that we didn't come at the best time, but consistency is very important when running an establishment.

Quick and friendly service by the girls at the counter. Tried beef and chicken chapli kabab. Food was not exceptional but as good as any Afghani place in the GTA. Will definetly go back and try other menu items.

This restaurant is the real deal, I meant excellent service and excellent food and delicious tasting food ohh I am still liking my fingers wooooooooow, the price of the food is also excellent, if ever want to enjoy food with very low cost, then this is the restaurant to go and dine in or out. I have been dinning in and taking out from this restaurant since 2010 until now and will be their customer for as long as I live.

Its ok. Not impressed by taste, food not adequately cooked and hence food kinda give raw taste. Enjoy if you have saltish taste bud. Fresh cooking is plausible which gives spice to get food. Looks untidy and no one will bother until you request more than once.

Awesome food and very good prices. Meat is very juicy and not overcooked. Definitely not over spiced or salty. The bread is well made, better than the rice I would say.

A nice Aghan cuisine. They have good and tasty kababs. They have to focus on their cleaning and sitting.

Great afghan food. Kebabs are really good and doesn't matter which you style you get. Their rice on the other hand sucks when it comes being authenic afghan rice but for the average consumer wouldn't know unless they were afghan.

Love the food in this place, pretty much anything you try there is going to be good for your taste buds

Second Review, EDIT: Just visited this place yesterday evening around 8PM. The butter chicken gravy is still SPECIAL and DIFFERENT from other places. Sadly that's all the good things I can think of this place. Everything shows how much they are struggling to keep this place clean and efficient. Slow service (30min to receive our 3 items ordered), cold naans/bread, cold rice, overcooked chicken. The shawarma dinner plate is just tandoori chicken reheated with TONS of fat in EVERY SINGLE PIECE. Same for the butter chicken. The gravy was amazing, but the chicken had tons of fat and was so unappetizing. Tables are still dirty, shows that they were short on staff as usual. There was a new girl serving from the kitchen, I felt so sorry for her, she looked so dead and uninterested in being there.

Food is usually amazing. Customer service is acceptable but orders generally take long enough for you to start wondering if they have forgotten about you. There is no other place that has awesome butter chicken than this place (That's interesting considering how this is an afghan place). It's worth checking out for the butter chicken in my opinion.

DO NOT ORDER FOOD FROM HERE! The food smelled like raten, Allah knows when they cooked it and it tasted soooo bad, the palaw had no khilal, and the qurma had no meat, it had only bones. The food wasn't cheap, I should have got what I paided for.all my guests were complaining. It was so embarrassing. I wouldn't even take that food for free that's how bad it was.

This is a cozy place, food is good, prices are cheap and fair, i frequent this place often. Highly recommended
