A taste of Japanese cake that I had forgotten! The texture of the sponge, the delicious cream and the exquisite taste of the red bean paste. It's a bit far, but I'd definitely stop by!

Great selection of baked goods. It is inside J Town so you can do all your Japanese food shopping there

I always come here to get the tofu cheesecake. It’s super light and not overly sweet, the sesame in the crust adds a special touch and flavour to the whole cake!

Delicious bakery and very spacious. The staff here were very friendly as well and helped answer any questions I had. Would definitely come back here for any pastries!

I am like a kid in a pastry shop. No kidding. I wanted so many items, but my body tells me to stop at one. Conflicting thoughts and wants. I finally decided upon a long long lineup, a Chestnut Parfait. Dessert eaten with a spoon, portable. Tasty, and no mess in my car. I attempted to look for a sitting area to consume my prize. But there is not any tables available. I was disappointed, what if I wanted something else. Excellent product, a benchmark from a professional pastry chef, moderately priced as a treat.

Last time I came here I really enjoyed the mochi muffins however this time I noticed the quality had really gone down and didnt taste like the previous mochi muffins. Either something changed or this bakerys quality is just too inconsistent for my liking.

The rare cheese cake in lemon flavour is light & just at the perfect sweetness (not too sweet). Luckily there's still lots of parking available on the north side on a weekday around noon.

Their buns are so delicious! My family and I also love their cakes as well. It's so much lighter than other cakes you can buy in stores and not too sweet but yet, it tastes so good!

I love the cakes, but the prices are too high. They look delicious, and they are definitely good. The chou cream is fantastic.

I've been to J-Town so many times over the last decade, and I finally bought something from their bakery. If you buy six buns, there's no tax. Also, it's 5¢ for a bag, so remember to bring a reusable bag. There is a good amount of selection, so come early for the good ones. Aside from buns, there are also hot sandwiches and cakes.

Great products. Amazing bread. Nice treats. Beware don't go on Mondays as they don't make fresh products and nearby stores are closed.

A nice a quaint Japanese bakery located inside J-Town. Specializing in Japanese style baked goods including shokupan, croquettes, anpan and others. Made fresh daily. They also have an assortment of day old bread if your looking for a cheaper option. They have some daily sandwiches for sale as well.

First time at Bakery Nakamura and was impressed with their buns! Thankfully there wasn’t a line up to get inside. There’s quite a bit of variety of buns, pastries, and cold food. I imagine there would’ve been more options if not for covid and maybe if I came earlier. But either way, will definitely be back:)

5 stars for their bread and tofu cheese cake, and 1 star for their service.

I enjoy so much of their tofu cheese cake, and I will always come back for it. Their bread is very fresh and tasty but it's just ordinary bread and just like all those asian's grocery store bread.
However, I didn't enjoy their service, as the cashier guy who wear glasses and speaks english and "maybe Japanese? " is very rushy, rude and kinda disrespectful by giving me look.
It's a very unpleasure experience since I have been to this bakery so many times and this is my first time getting this kind of vibe. I went there with my family and ordered a loaf of bread and i requested half a loaf and cut to sandwich thickness, he told me they only offer whole loaf now, so I was like okay so I will get a whole loaf, then he told me that they can't cut it to sandwich thickness and offered me to cut it to toast, then i was like okay. As he was talking, he didn't even make eye contact with me and busy with other thing and talking to other which is fine cuz I can tell that they are busy. I guess he was talking to me but I can't hear him well cuz he kept moving back and forth while talking behind the counter, then he was like " So what do you want? " I was like "okay then I will get the whole loaf with toast thickness" then he kinda gave me this look and make me feel like Im stupid or annoying. We all wearing mask during pandemic and sometimes we just can't hear each other properly. Honestly, no need to be rude to your customer when I already told you what I want and it was according to the menu but YOU CAN"T OFFER ANYTHING I WANT!
at the end, when the lady cut the loaf for me she just cut half, and she forgot the other half. Clearly I can just get half a loaf instead of the whole loaf.

If I see this man ever again when I go there to shop, I will just leave.

Bakery Nakamura has all the cute Japanese Buns & cakes. I like shopping at J Town. I was shopping with my husband yesterday and bought 12 buns for my girl & nieces. It was quite a line up. While I was paying and trying to help the cashier putting the buns into the bag because I was in a rush. One of them slipped out of the bag and landed on the table. I know many bakeries won’t care about it since I already paid. But the cashier offered to get a new one and she quickly packed it for me. I forgot to ask for her name but she was polite and sweet. Excellent customer service!

I always get my cakes from here. As a person that prefers less sugar, I appreciate the balance between the actual flavour of the cake and sweetness. My go to's are matcha red bean and earl grey

The bakery is amazing. Fresh and most versatile choices. The least favourite is those cream cake, too creamy for me. Creme caramel is my top choice, one of the best in town.pennacotta is great. French baguette and Danish pastries are excellent. Social distancing rules applied n zero body contact.

Their pastries are not as fancy as the price at all but I like their "Japanese level" of sweetness (not too sweet like North American style) they provide. Their new green tea croissant and mochi cup cake are my favourite. If their line-up is a bit shorter, I would give another star:).
