Bamiyan Kabob

The food here is incredible. I liked the sauce so much I asked if I could buy a bottle of it. I use it regularly at home now. The chicken here is so flavourful and mouthwatering juicy. The portions are huge. I couldn't eat more than half in one sitting so I took the leftovers home for lunch the next day. I hope to come back to town so I can eat here again.

First time visiting this place and it was a real bad experience. As per covid policies i was told to write down my name and number in the notebook sitting on the front desk. Somebody stole my number from there and started harrassing me. Upon confronting the manager to at least keep the information confidential, his exact words "It is not my responsibility to keep your number safe. This is my business time, go and complaint to the police. I have many friends in Police. "
Dear Manager, food is important but our privacy is much important. There won't be any business time if there won't be customers.

This is one of our favorite places where we get our take-out meals. But today it was very disappointing.
We ordered 3 portions of 1/2 chicken and got only 2 portions minus a leg also few pieces of the 2 Tandoori chicken skewers were missing. Even the 6 Kofta skewers wasn't right. I am not sure if they are cutting down on portions sizes or simply not paying attention to the work they do, very sad.

Poor management!
They told me my order will take 15mins but after 45mins they say weather you want to wait 5 more minutes or cancel your whole order. This is so rude, my last order here in Bamyan Kabob. They don’t care about customers time wasting. I’m very mad.

Food is tasty and the staff are super friendly. This place gets busy so be prepared to wait! The chaplee and choppan dinners are my favourite!

One of my favourite kebab restaurants to visit.

The half chicken dinner is my go to. It comes with rice, salad, naan and sauces. My husband got the sultani entree that also comes with the same sides.

The restaurant is quite big with a lot of areas closed/blocked off for social distancing.

AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS FOOD! Their food is soo good and their portions are big. Everything I've tried was tasty. The restaurant is clean and the staff is friendly.

We visited the Bamiyan Kabob at keele and steels on oct 3,2021. We waited so long to order the food. A lady was taking an order from an unmasked customer in the cashier area and the man handed her the cash. She handled the cash with the blue gloves she was wearing. After the transaction completed, she went to the kichen window with the same gloves and started opening the food boxes to see what is inside and started putting the boxes and utensils in the plastic bags. I told her that she just handled the money and she needs to change her gloves or wash hands. She just looked at me. I repeated my self and she said I am not touching the food. I told her u are opening the food boxes and touching utensils.she just looked at me and contined her work. My husband told her agian and the same look and no words from the lady. Then the manager came in, a young man with long hair. He called himself Ray Malik when asked, I am not sure if that is his true name. The manager asked the lady to refund us and he said I am not serving you, food.

My husband had paid with debit, but then she handed us the cash. When asked, she said Our machine can not process the refund. The manager was super rude. Never had such an experience in Canada; That a manager denied a service when recieved a true complaint from a customer.

The lady in the cashier, the one with black head scarf, did not know any thing about food handeling, customer service and safety measures. No customer service, no food safety, very RUDE MANAGER.

Amazing tasty kebob wrap, very consistently delicious. I've come to Bamiyan kabob many times over the years and have never been disappointed. Just a heads up that if you're going to order takeout it usually takes 10-15 min to prepare the food. Highly recommend!

I called this place to order. I asked about prices, and I was told “rudely” to go check the website. I checked and ordered. When I got the restaurant, I found this menu (matches the prices on the website). However, when checking out, nothing matched the menu nor the website menu. Every thing is one-two dollars extra. As per food quality, nothing so special. Same as if you’re dining at Naan & Kabob or Watan Kabob.

The meat pieces are so tiny and there's barely any salad with the meals, it's just 80% rice. Way too much rice for no reason. There is no balance with these meals. Unfortunately not made fresh either.

It’s a no frills venue all right, but not no frills price! Service is slow but fresh- the orders can sit for a while on the hot plate tho. Then orders are checked, re-checked, and checked again in 30 seconds. If you are non-Muslim or white white be prepared to be ogled like you’re from another planet. I’m here to enjoy your food, yes I know about taqiyya, stop looking at me like you’re taking notes for the upcoming war. Rice is flavourless without their seasoning spice, which just goes on top of your protein. The “Red Sauce” is SALTY and so is the previously mentioned seasoning spice. My lamb kebab was great tho, everything fresh as I said, but the best was the flatbread. It is unbelievable. Maybe start serving pizzas with a smile instead.

Love their Tandoori chicken kabobs and Grilled Salmon. Really tasty. Don't forget to get a cup of Mango smoothie, highly recommended.
If they offer Credit card payment method would be wonderful!

Always a great experience. Flavourful rice, zesty salad and maple meat. The bread is top tier too. Bolognee is a must as well

The best Afghani kabob in the city. The bread is so good freshly baked, white and chutney sauce are refreshing and the kabob is cooked to perfection. The Sultani is a 10/10.

NOT good experience. Over charged once and missing items in order. No doubt the other locations in Scarborough are much better.

Horrible customer service by owner it self. Very rude and ill mannered. Getting one star because no option for zero.

Can't be hated. If confused, try their chicken with rice combos and don't forget to ask for extra tomato sauce.

Today once April 29,2021, I didnt receive my order as requested. This is the 3rd time. I spoke to the cashier today and she forget to put the drinks. I have giving this place 100/ 1000 dollars business but not getting the service as expected. I will take my business elsewhere.

Good service. The meat is nicely done and spiced. Salads could be better. What they call "naan" is really lavash.

The food is very good and tasty. They have a right amount of food, especially for takeout. The staff is friendly and helpful. Would recommend this place.

Mantoo and kofta dishes are my go to.
The salmon dinner and chicken breast are amazing though. Service here is a hit or miss. They do seem to put a lot of love in the food though.

The half chicken meal used to be a a good sized chicken but i just bough two half chicken meals today and the size of the drumstick and the breast us very small.i think the chicken was on a diet lol

I simply wanted to know if their meat is 100 percent halal and hand slaughtered, the staff acted so rude and impolite and didn't answer my queries at all. Very this disappointed, this is not the way they should treat a customer, they must learn and educate themselves some ethics

Great food, many options to choose from, all really good quality and well-worth the price. The portions are quite generous.

Food is good but please ask the staff to wear the mask, kitchen and employees working at the back are visible and only front staff who’s taking the order had mask on and everyone else was without masks. Literally 5-6 employees, manager, owner whoever was working at the back cooking and packing the food without the mask on. Please wear mask it’s for everyone’s safety

They messed up our order - reasonable food; did not love the qabali rice since it was basically just a lot of carrots.loved their dessert phirni!

My mouth is still watering from their tandoori chicken. Their portion sizes are really big and their kabobs are super flavourful.

I cannot put less than one star. My experience with new management is far below past visits. The food seemed spoiled. The plate was chipped. The owner was rude and arrogant. Worst dining experience on two continents.

Frequented by YorkU students the place has several options. It's mostly kebabs and a choice of naan, salad or rice.
We settled for the qorma probably the only gravy item on the menu, with a Naan. I love their Naan, it is enough by itself. The chicken qorma was very average, the gravy did not have any acidity but was almost sweet, the chicken was dry. But with the Naan it made perfect sense.
We also got a buttermilk (dough) which was the perfect accompaniment. On a weekend for a late lunch they were packed to capacity and the staff was flustered. I took two buttermilks and paid for both as well, the second one did not arrive so we asked for it, she came to our table and said we paid for one and she could see we had already finished it and I had to show her the receipt and she checked it thoroughly to make sure I was not making it up. If you forget the orders, check your receipts don't go to the customer accusing them. What if I didn't take a receipt per usual or throw it away? If they are understaffed they need more people or train the ones to slow it down.

Worst restaurant experience I've ever had in my life, 15 years living in Canada never seen anything like this. I ordered 7 combo platters. Despite the fact, it took me 25 minutes to place the order at the cashier they still serve me the wrong dining order. Upon deliberation, I went up to the counter to speak with somebody in charge who can fix the order for me. The owner of the store became very hostile when I ask him for two extra sauces he started yelling that I"had to throw away a $20 worth of food because of you, " I told him "I don't need to take this from you take it out on somebody else as it in your employees fault. " After further argument, we both started swearing back and forth, he came out from behind the counter with his finger up call me names, literally inches away from me and threatened to punch me with his finger up that he will meet me outside and break my 'teeth'. He continued to shout at me until my 7th order came out. The most hostile environment I've ever had to face in my restaurant experience thus far. No doubt I will be reporting this to the authorities. I hope you guys can really avoid from going to the North York location as it is not healthy and very toxic. If you take anything I strongly advise you double check it before taking it. Not to mention, he was also quite abusive towards his own staff after he was done with me.

To be honest, I think the prices can be cheaper but still the best kebob restaurant in the neighborhood. I usually go for sultan kebob but barg (pieces of beef steak) kebob is just good itself. The one on the right hand side is sultan kebob (barg + kofta as far as I know). That orangish curry is on the side menu. Don't remember the name but that is very good too and less pricey than other dishes. These two makes a great combination.

Knocked my Air Force1’s off! This food smells great and tastes fantastic. Excellent sized portions of healthy eating. Very happy with the food. I ordered the Kafta Kabob and the portion was just right.

Outstanding delicious Kabob wrap! I love the food and my mother-in-law loved the her full course meal for just $8 more. Large portion and freshly made. Price is very reasonable too!

The kofta kabob is where it's at. They do take their time to make the food but you can taste that its fresh. Very very delicious and I reccomend it.

Of course it's the best food in town and they serve Cardamom tea that is heavenly. This is by far my favorite location?

Always so satisfying eating here. My favourite is the barb kabob dinner and the mango smoothie. A must try. All the locations are pretty much very consistent which I really like. Lots of parking here.

Almost 5 stars. All the kebabs are good. Kabuli rice is excellent. Great naan. I still prefer naan kabob but Bamiyan is a close second.

Came to have a meal with friends spent $80.00 and was asked. 50 cents for extra hot sauce for our meals. They started running the place like a bunch of gypsy’s

Located amidst a bunch of popular fast food franchises (Quiznos, Tim Hortons, Pita Pit etc), this place stick out like sore thumb. In a positive sense this. If you want a change from your run of mill lunch fare, this is worth a try. Embrace your Canadian multi-culturalism with this taste of Afghanistan.

Gave a treat to my niece while she was in York University and was staying in the Pond Road Residence. Loved the ambience, great kebabs, courteous staffs. Restaurant was very clean & well maintained. Would love to be back here again.

Delicious food! Ample parking. Most food will take a few minutes to get ready so build in a bit of time on your lunch break for that. The food is prepared fresh though, so that is not a complaint. The naan is great. I usually get the Sultani Kabob. Lots of flavour!

In many ways this is a fast food restaurant. You order at the counter, wait a few minutes and take your plastic try to one of the many tables.

The quality of the food is leaps and bounds from what you would expect from a fast food joint. I ordered a sultani combo which is a beef-lamb combination skewers served over fragrant rice with a side of salad. The meal comes with a afghani naan (a type of flat bread).

The meat is fresh and well seasoned and the portions are very approriate.

Whether you are a starving York U student or a local proffesional, this is a great place for lunch.

Really delicious food. A bit expensive but the portions are huge which make up for the price as the meat was tender, well seasoned and delicious. The staff is friendly and welcoming and the tables and restaurant were clean.

Previously the Chaplee kabab were very big, thick, meaty and juicy now they are dry, filled with fat and the size of a big mac patty at best

Declining quality. Restaurant was dirty.its as if they just dont care. Try Naan & Kabob instead.they serve the same stuff and think its better.

Fresh food, high quality meat, nice portion sizes, flavorful, reasonably priced. Highly recommended. My favorite kebab eatery.

We ordered the chicken breast and rice on 2 different occasions and both times got major stomach issues right away. I wonder if they've passed their health inspection.
