Bao Sandwich Bar

Super tasty, good portion of protein in the sandwiches and loved the flavour combos. Favourites were the Chicken Katsu and Seoul beef bao sandwiches.

Really really good bao sandwiches. The bao buns is are really soft and tasty. I personally didn’t like the kimchi fried that much though.

Placed an order for delivery via their own website.

One hour later order was cancelled because apparently their online delivery partner didn't collect a delivery fee, and somehow that's the customer's fault and the customer deserves to have their plans disrupted

Food isn't good enough to jump through hoops to eat it. Give your money to businesses that don't push their screw ups on th customers.

This is one of my favourite places in waterloo. Their chicken katsu, Korean garlic chicken and Seoul beef are my top 3 choices, however, I have had most of the items on the menu and they are all good. If you haven't had bao before, this is a must try place. Be sure to get your meal on a bao though and not on a baguette.

I've eaten here on several occasions and have never been disappointed by the delicious Bao and friendly service. Better as a takeout option than dine-in, as tables are limited and the space can be a bit crowded.

These are the 5 I’ve tried. Some are amazing and some just miss the mark! Regardless, do recommend going just need to find the right ones for you.

Great spot. Tucked away so it can be difficult to find at first. Food is great with lots of different options with the baos and baguettes. Limited parking if you are driving so sometimes you have to walk a bit from a spot but totally worth it.

This location is small, hidden within the apartment buildings. The different menu options all sounds amazing, I got the tofu subway sandwich, it was sweet, crunch, crispy tofu with lettuce, green onions and a nice warm toasted subway sandwich. It was yummy, but I had to add ketchup to the sandwich, I definitely preferred something more spicer. However, this sandwich with your own hot sauce is absolutely delicious. I recommend ordering sandwiches then taking it home to enjoy with your own condiments. Thank you!

My recent visit to Boa Bar Waterloo left me disappointed and concerned about potential violations of consumer rights. I ordered a meal and a drink, but the in-house-made drink tasted awful. When I asked for a replacement or refund, they refused to accommodate my reasonable request, despite the low cost of the drink. This refusal to address the issue might be a violation of consumer protection laws. As a result, I cannot recommend Boa Bar to other consumers. Be aware of your rights and choose establishments that prioritize customer satisfaction and comply with consumer protection laws. ** The food was mid.

Always great food. Hate that there's no parking and you have to go down steep set of stairs. Location could be better. I'm sure that if they were at a different location they would definitely be more busy. Great food.

It’s become pricey, I need 2-3 to be satiated which comes out to almost $30

I really enjoyed the food but was super disappointed with the price. They charged me $18 for two boa sandwiches with fries and drink (everyday combo). I felt like they over charged me and asked the cashier but she didn’t realize it still or maybe that’s just the price?

I wish I lived closer to Bao, but I get this when I'm in town visiting friends. Fast and delicious, a great example of this type of cuisine.

Best baos around. They’re all good but my favourite is definitely the Chicken Katsu Bao with a side of Kimchi Fries. Great portion and price too!

Tried different baos and my favourite one would have to be the duck! All were good but the duck stood out the most! Will definitely be back!

Hard to find. Theres a path behind a condo, it’s in between a condo and a wooden fence. The sign for the entrance is so small, and its way overpriced for the portions. It was good, but not at the price they are asking for.

Consistently good, great options for vegetarians. Cool atmosphere, I bring all my friends to try and they continually rave about it.

Flavourful and so yummy everytime I go, perfect lunch spot. Expecting to take friends there on a lunch date sometime, and iced coffee is to die for, would add pictures but it’s too yummy to wait to take pics then eat

One of the better sandwich shops in waterloo. Everyone who knows about the Bao Sandwich Bar raves about it. I've gotten to try about 1/4 of the menu and have been continuously happy. Nothing has been bad, it's all been delicious. If you haven't had bao before this is a very good place to try it out. Recommend for all the foodies out there

The fries were amazing and the inside of the restaurant was very nice, but it was hard for us to find, and I personally didn't enjoy some of the ingredients in my bao (I got the avocado one). My mother enjoyed her meal but felt a bit ill because of it later on in the day. It was generally enjoyable, but I don't think bao is for me.

Due to the construction going around the area, I almost didn't find it, but it wasn't their fault. Baos are delicious, the duck and the chicken katsu were my favorite. I also had the pork belly which was good as well. Would go back again to try more!

I got the crispy pork but it wasn't even crispy, seems like they just boiled the worst quality pork. The chicken sandwich was ok. Never again.

Sandwiches are very flavourful and prices are decent. In a bit of a confusing location, but it’s nice and modern inside.

If I had to choose my last meal, before dying horrifically in a painful way, I'd make it Bao Sandwiches.

A must try Vietnamese fast food restaurant. They even have a couple of patio tables set outside but you are better off with a take out order.

So, I’ve had BanhMi & bao from this location a few times, my second time was terrible! I wrote to their social media manager and the owner was kind enough to send us a credit for 2 sandwiches! We went there again last night, and boy oh boy! That’s the OG sandwiches I expected on my previous visit! Love the chicken flavours and sauces are just extraordinary! Just feel it’s a bit pricey but can be a treat once in a month or two! Highly recommend if you wanna try Something new!

Delicious! Friendly and quick. Very tidy and enforcing covid social distancing measures. Bit of a trick to find if you are not familiar with the condos in the area

Great food. The baos are lovely. The chicken wings were also delicious. The only disappointment was the purple lemonade, felt it was just a chemical concoction. Would surely visit again but will avoid the lemonades.

Love this place. But I find the food to be pricey because it's not very filling sadly. My bills end up being over $20-25 for one person because it takes 2 Bao and a Baguette just to fill me up, before even a side
