Authentic and delicious Trinidadian food at unbelievable prices. Doubles may require three baras not the usual two to finish the abundance of channa served on the tastiest doubles out there.
Had goat roti and doubles. Both were tasty and had a good amount of filling. Size was enormous. Very good value for the price. I will definitely recommend.
Back in 2015, Baras did these mini customized rotis for my wedding. They were a huge hit and I'll never forget how great they were to work with. I recently had a doubles from them and wow.the flavour is on point! Best in the GTA!
I had previously given a 5 star review. But after an incident I reduced my review. Last weekend went ro get doubles and placed the order. Persons who came after me was getting trough and leaving. When I asked the young fella what's the keep back, he had the world of excuses and was very very very rude about it. After 30 minutes I finally got it, ro which the rude young price rudely replied " next time say you are in a rush" there is no next time at all. Would not recommend them at all. Go elsewhere for your roti and doubles.
Will not be ordering back due to finger nail in food. Sorry my mom threw it away because no proof the owner didn't take blame. Proof enough was my mom throwing up so bad after seeing that.
I loved my visit to Bara’s today! I had the tomato and salt fish with sada roti, doubles and a grapefruit Ting. It was all so good and reminded me of home cooking. I can’t wait to go back.
Heard this place is the best roti place in the gta. Drove from Markham to see for myself and yes indeed it is. Ask for the curry duck and goat with a lil potato on a plate with the roti skin separate. Sooo good. Roti made fresh in house soft and moist. Everything was so yummy and the hot sauce was the hottest I ever had also ordered the curry mango omg soooo good. Gas is expensive but it’s worth it.
Had Bara’s hut last week after they finished the renovations and are under new management.
The ROTI was incredible. I love food and im very picky when it comes to restaurants and eating out as I only have a cheat meal every 10-14 days. When I want to eat out I want GOOD FOOD! The chicken in my roti was extremely tender, good amount of seasoning, filling and the dough was very tasty and enjoyable. I got a homemade/Ma cooked vibe off my meal. The spice in my roti was noticeable but mild. I had opted for hot sauce on the side…NOW THATS HOT SAUCE! Very spicy, the sauce is done tastefully if you like spice. Looking forward to trying the jerk chicken and doubles next.
I would highly recommend this spot as I’ve had a hard time finding a good and reliable Caribbean restaurant. This is the go to spot for Mississauga
The only thing I would change is - close a little bit later at 9 or 10pm to allow us evening workers a chance to swing by.
Very polite and business oriented staff. Prompt customer service with a caring personality. Additionally.the food was well flavored and tasted excellent. The environment was clean with Covid - 19 focus protocol. Highly recommended.
Our Family has known Michelle for over 25 YEARS! Alll we can say is that Michelle is a GOD SENT to our community! Not only is her food the BEST WEST INDIAN FOOD in Canada, Michelle is one of the nicest person you'd ever want to meet. Michelle and her staff always have a smile on their face and they always make you laugh when you go to get your food! THANKS MICHELLE and the GREAT STAFF! Love Russell 10/10/10
I have to say this was a nice experience. We read reviews online and decided to give Bara's a chance. We learned that the owner is namesake, Michelle so that was a plus. The place is neat and clean with a definite Caribbean vibe! We asked the barista for the owner Michelle and when Michelle came.out from the kitchen she did not disappoint. We were greeted with the warm Caribbean hospitality! Now to the food. We had bake and salt fish in tomato and smoked herring in tomato. YUMMY! Everything was really delicious. We ended up ordering roti, doubles and sugar cake to go and will provide an update on those. I could tell you right now that 4 roti (buss up shut) could feed about 8 people easily.
Delicious and authentic dishes with very generous portions! The goat doubles were the best I've ever tried! I hope they open in-house dining again soon, their dining room feels comfortable and welcoming.
After a month of periodically having their rotis, I think I've become addicted to Bara's. Amazing food. I've been struggling to find a decent Caribbean spot in my neighborhood as they all are subpar at best and getting worse. So glad I found Bara's. I wish you all the success.
Renovated and same old taste. Bara's is back with a bang.oh I missed you guys for so long. I hope you stay and pray that I get to eat more rotis, phulories, baigan Choka and doubles.
Ordered form my favorite roti place in Mississauga that opened after 5 years. Michelle didn't miss a beat in the last 5 years. The food was 10+ Highly recommend
I am happy to see the restaurant finally reopened! I was driving by a few weeks ago and saw the new signage and stopped thinking that they reopened but it wasn't as yet. Anyhow checked back today and yes they are back. I bought doubles, aloo pies, duck and chicken roti. I definitely was very pleased with everything I ordered. The doubles were just as I remembered it took me back to my childhood in Trinidad. The portions were good, the food was very tasty. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The restaurant was clean and I liked that they made sure they were adhering to the covid restrictions. I was not disappointed and will definitely be going back again!
