Barber Shop/Mens Hair Salon

Heard the gentleman who cut my hair make racist comments about his previous customer, who was apparently a Indian student. Looking through other reviews, this establishment has a history of such behavior

How I've managed to overlook this barber shop for so long is a mystery to me! I've been all over town to various places and have ended up with very mixed results. The Southgate Barber Shop is just that - a barber shop! Phil, who cut my hair, and the rest of the staff are extremely professional and rather fussy about cutting my hair. It's been over a year since I've had my last hair cut and I went in looking like Ozzie Osbourne. I came out looking more like John Fogerty, which was amazing! I'm most pleased with the results and greatly appreciate the skill and patience taken to make this transformation. I most definitely intend to continue going there and highly recommend this amazing shop! Good onya guys!

I have tried multiple places in Tobram and Wieens area. This place has a decent prices and excellent service. I have never dissapointed with their Tallent and work. Everyone works their know what they are doing.

Love the service here. Old school barbershop. Ben was originally one of the younger guys in Westwood Mall late 90s. Opened his own after alot of the guys passed away.

I'm just amazed with the service I get. I have been their customer for 14 years now. They got great barbers like Ben, Danny and Carlos. Danny's been doing my hair since I was a kid and never failed to amazed me with his expertises. He listens and tries his level best to meet your expectations. I honestly won't trust another barber over Danny. Thank you!

I went here and asked for a buzz cut he did everything fine but he didnt line me up so when i asked him if he can line me up he said no

Husband drives here because he loves the atmosphere and the owner has been cutting his hair since 1990.

Been coming here for a few years now. Always a good vibe and super friendly barbers. A bit on the old school style so dont expect any new and funky haircuts, but great price and service! Highly recommend!

These gentlemen know what they’re doing, I was in and out in 20 minutes. Nice clean cut, and straight razor line up. Went in asking to look like David Beckham for my dinner date, and I came out looking like Brad Pitt. Like oceans 11 Brad not Brad after Bradgelina break up.

I arrived as a walk-in and was seated within a reasonable amount of time. The cut was reasonably priced at $20. The staff seemed generally courteous. Although I wasn't clear in my explanation of the cut that I wanted, my barber did a great job. Unfortunately, my experience was soured by the other barber who made a comment about a previous client. After a previous client had left, the other barber made a homophobic comment referring to the previous client. I was quite uncomfortable for the rest of my session.

Bottom line: Unfortunately, regardless of the pricing or quality of cuts, I cannot under good faith recommend this store given the derogatory nature with which the other barber referred to his clients.
