Bare Essentials Waxing / Waxonomy

This place is quick but I do not believe they provide good service. My skin was not prepped at all and I explained that I have very sensitive skin before hand. I originally wanted a Brazilian wax but due to the impatience and not really friendly service I couldnt do the whole thing. I was left with what she called an “extended bikini wax” but I came home and looked up the difference between a bikini and an extended bikini and it is not what I got. I feel taken advantage of since they knew it was my first time. The hair is extremely patchy, goes outside of my bikini line, wax is left all everywhere. I wouldnt even classify this as a bikini wax in the slightest. Halle was my technician and I suggest you do not use this service with her. I called and explained my situation in a calm manner, they were apologetic and offered me store credit or to come back and get it fixed but I do not feel comfortable returning. I ended up just accepting that no reimbursement would be given and hung up the phone in tears. If it is your first time definitely do not go here. I feel so violated and invalidated.

I went to Waxonomy at the end of april and got my arms, legs, brazilian and underarms done. The staff was friendly and quick to bring me in. However, the service itself was not great. A lot of skin had been ripped in the process of getting waxed and now i have large scars on my arms and legs. I was hoping it would have faded by now but unfortunately it hasnt so I decided to write this review. The staff is nice but not worth the bodily scars. Go at your own risk.

Riekie is literally a godsend! She makes you feel so comfortable, she's so quick! Would recommend her to any and everyone.

Not a friendly bunch of Ladies. A couple are very rough with the waxing. Sad to see how unhappy they are. Life is short Ladies.

Avoid this place - this is why I stick to private waxers only! Places like this do not respect the client. This is a walk in garbage establishment and had I not been desperate because I have a funeral to go to and my usual wax ladies machine broke before my appointment, I would not have step foot in these types of places. I already had a stressful day because of a loss, then I am literally 5 mins late and am told they can’t see me and have only 10 minute slots and have already taken the next person back. Most places at least accommodate 15mins late especially if you’re a walk in “express” location how is there still 5 minutes left to my appointment and you’re already serving someone else before my time is done? As a first time client they should have made some efforts especially when I explained it was an emergency. The problem is they don’t have any real clientele its a revolving door which is why they don’t care about people or helping and building a reliable clientele. Probably would have gotten an infection or something since their intake form kept referring to herpes. Maybe health inspection is needed.

I always feel comfortable and relaxed when I go to Waxonomy. I went for my first Brazilian and Halle M was great. It was fast and painless and I would 100% recommend going. I’ll be booking again.
They even provided after cate advice.

I've been coming here for waxing years ago and for the past few months for laser. I've had appointments with Veronica, Bethany and Riekie and they're all very professional and lovely. I highly recommend this place for everyone looking for great quality service with amazing people.

The whole staff is personable and welcoming. Nikole is awesome. Very kind, professional and efficient. Highly recommended! Very reasonable rates as well. Very clean and aesthetically appealing facilities. Easy to book.

Reikie serviced me today for an extended bikini wax and a back wax. She was super kind, really friendly and I felt really comfortable with her. I’ve gotten a rash from a full Brazilian before so I was a bit picky with where I wanted waxed and didn’t want waxed. She took my specific waxing needs into consideration and asked me a couple times during the appointment to have a look and see if she was understanding what I wanted waxed. I really appreciated how attentive she was, not to mention super fast and gentle. I had such a good experience, I rebooked before I left. I checked in a mirror when I got home and no hair was left over, super sculpted lines on my bikini area as well. Very happy I went in today! Thanks Reikie! ️

I find that many of the reviews here talk about how kind everyone is, and how the environment is lovely, and that is all true. However, I can also say that the laser hair removal works

I am transgender, and so had very thick and dark facial hair. After 4 sessions, I am now shaving once a week rather than every day, and I cannot express how life-changing that has been. The environment is lovely, but its also effective, and that is the most important part to me. Looking forward to further sessions

Bethany is phenomenal at her job. Professionalism, cleanliness & comfortability are a few things she excels at. As someone who’s been getting waxed for years, I can honestly say that I’ve never been happier. I highly recommend Bethany for brow services and body waxing!

I went in today to get my first ever Brazilian with Bethany. I’ve never waxed anything before so I was very nervous but she was so sweet and did a great job. Super quick and the pain was tolerable. Will be coming back again for sure.

I cried after my appointment and couldn't get out of there fast enough. The service and environment was the worst I ever experienced in my life. The lady who serviced me made me feel unwelcome and stupid the entire time I was there. If you're having a bad day don't take it out on your customer because then it just ruins their day too: (

Staff was very nice - disappointed in my service. Lots of hair left over, felt rushed (what's supposed to be a 50min service, rushed to finish in 30). I'm not one to complain but when I have to go home and touch up multiple places for both the leg wax and Brazilian, I get frustrated especially after spending $100.

Yesterday I spontaneously needed to be waxed, Bare got me booked sameday! On top of the flexibility I received my work my a young lady named Bethany. She was so professional & welcoming I rebooted for next appointment on the spot! She was really great I'd recommend her. Bare essential also has HARD wax which I personally prefer.

I've had great experiences with B. E. Every aesthetician has been friendly and great at their work! Recently they increased their prices but a substantial %/proportion. Even though this was mentioned at the bottom of an email, they did not update the website. It'd be nice if the roll out was more consistent across all platforms and was not hidden at the bottom of an email.

My technician was amazing and very informative. First time waxing and I was made to feel very comfortable. Will be back again. I believe it was Brittany.

Some staff don’t do proper service leave a patch of hair unwaxed. Not everyone has time to come back to get it ‘corrected’. If u raise price pls be professional and take ALL the hair off leaving a patch of hair won’t cost you anything nor will it save you anything.

I was very nervous coming in but the attendant was very helpful. She did a very good job and stopped when I needed a break. That is not consistent with my previous waxing experience. I don't know what she did but i did not get any breakouts on my back. It has always happened when I was waxed previously

This is a great spot. I've been a client for many years. I always have good service, and booking online is so easy.

Been coming to BE for the last five years - the only placed I've gotten waxed since I moved to the Region! The staff is always kind and professional, and they take hygiene very seriously! They've had great protocols during the pandemic and I felt completely safe going for my appointment. Their prices are amazing, and so is their service. Bonus is that they have hard wax - which can be hard to find at other places and is usually very expensive!

I have been going to Bare Essentials since I can remember. First of all, you cannot get a better price for service than here. $25 for a Brazilian wax is unheard of. The staff are professional and timely. The studio is super cute and extremely clean. Their online platform makes it easy to book and manage your appointments. They offer tons of services above and beyond waxing. I highly recommend Bare Essentials to anyone!

I’ve always had great experiences at Bare Essentials. I’ve seen many members of their team and each one is very nice. Going beyond customer service, their team always does a great job when doing my waxes. The $25 Brazilian is an unmatched deal. I opt for the half and half hard and soft wax which makes the job more comfortable for me and gives the aesthetician more flexibility (in my opinion). Even through the lockdowns and everything, I have always felt safe at Bare Essentials. They are always clean and sanitary, which is something I loved about them and noticed even before covid.

I’ve been coming to Bare Essentials since they opened in Waterloo and don’t plan on changing that.

Jessy is incredibly lovely! She makes you feel super comfortable and has a great sense of humour. She is very knowledgeable about waxing and how to take care of your skin. After getting a few Brazilian's from her I decided to let her do my eyebrows. I've been doing my own for about 10 years because I've had bad experiences. She's now the only person I trust to wax my eyebrows except myself. Front desk staff are also so welcoming!

I have been coming to the Waterloo location for a bit over a year now and I have nothing but awesome things to say about the place and the girls! I go to see Erin who wax’s my brows and she does a fabulous job every time! The ladies at the front desk are also wonderful and friendly and always make me feel so welcomed! I refuse to go see anyone else or any other place for my brows now thanks to Erin!

I got my eyebrows waxed by Erin today and she was super quick but did such an amazing job! I’m really picky with how I like them so I was a little nervous but i’m glad I went. The studio was super clean as well!

Riekie is the BEST. Friendly and hilarious the service feels more like a break than pain. Everyone here is super friendly and sweet.

Reiki was amazing for my first time getting a wax. Very calm and informative about what the experience would be like.

I had such a wonderful experience at Bare Essentials. Erin did a perfect job on my eyebrow wax but most of all, I felt incredibly safe. All staff wore the appropriate PPE and I was thrilled to see them wearing O2 masks. Kudos to everyone there for doing everything you can to make it an enjoyable and safe experience for all of your clients.

I've been here twice. They are amazing. They are up to date COVID preventative procedures (better than any place I've been to) I get my brows done. She's very quick and makes them look fabulous EVERY TIME!

Bare Essentials, specifically Jesse, was recommended to me by a friend. Jesse made my first time getting a Brazilian wax comfortable and not intimidating. I have already recommend her to another friend of mine.

I've been here a couple of times to get a bikini wax and usually they are pretty good and efficient. However, I went a couple of weeks ago and had a lot of burning and pain for a couple of days. I then realized I had a burn mark and popped blood vessels. I still have a bit of scarring from the burn and I'm pretty disappointed. Don't think i'll be coming back again unfortunately.

I’ve only dealt with the Waterloo location and the girls there have been great. Always friendly, informative and accommodating. 4-stars because when waxing sometimes patches are missed but other than that all around service.

I love Bare Essentials - Their quick, do a great job, affordable, and I am in LOVE with their sugar scrubs. Lifetime customer here - I can't live without them. The Miss Me Kiss Me scent is my favourite and I'll certainly be going back for more once I run out! I can't remember who I was scheduled with Aug 21st but she did a great job and we talked about cottages in Port Elgin! When I book again I hope I can recognize her name on the website. 10/10!
