Barrie Landfill & Environmental Centre

No one should complain about having to sort the trash, that’s perfectly fine, it does take time but whatever right. The hours are freaking ridiculous, to the point where no one wants to go and ends up going to the tiffin dump and paying extra. We need better hours for our city dump.

This place is a bad joke. Impertinent staff yelling from across the yard about sorting trash they can't even see. Didn't have the decency to notify us earlier or even come by to check. Gave me lip about throwing an umbrella in the trash bin instead of the metal bin; meanwhile it's fiberglass and 90% fabric. I'm also PAYING to throw stuff away, if it was in black bags noone would know or care. The city needs to retrain their ignorant staff

My experience using this dump has been mixed. I felt I was treated in a manner that was less than respectful, when an item accidentally was deposited in the wrong bin. It's possible this individual was fired, or retired Barrie Police officer, by the way he acted. My taxes should at least cover civility. I really hope I do not need their services again soon. I was born and raised in this town and how the city employee's deal with their "customers" is poor at best.

This facility stops working 3: 30pm i guess, but gate closes 3: 20pm. Be advised! Just waste my trip for this lack of info. I got there 3: 21pm.

All in all not much to say as it's the dump. Staff are always friendly, some days are busy some days aren't so much

Terrible! Closing a city service at 330 that is needed by the very ppl that pay taxes by actually working during those hours. Found a new level of governmental uselessness. 1 star is drastically padding their stats.

Got there at 3: 29. There was already the orange cones there to prevent you from going in. I'm so happy my taxes pay people to close places ahead of time. Not everyone can make it on Any day before 3: 30pm.

Unlike the bradford dump that has way less population but they stay open until 4: 30pm and if you get there 5 mins late they still let you in.

I guess Barrie is paying people that are too lazy to work an extra minute and they close 10 mins earlier.

Why is the city dump closed at 3: 30? This is an equity issue.since all those with jobs can't visit the dump. Why can't it be opened late at least one night a week? It could even open late that day.
