Bathurst Clark Resource Library

This library is absolutely wonderful in terms of resources, but if you are looking for a quiet place to study, especially in the evening, you might want to find somewhere else. It's not a construction problem. The high school students have trouble honoring that a library is supposed to be a quiet space. It's still a constant problem in September 2023.

Some users appear to face challenges in cleaning after themselves, particularly in the washrooms.

It is so frustrating and disappointing that this is public library and there is an extended hours for studying and I have to leave because I am university student and for “safeness” of high school students! There is no sense for this.

I love this library! I’ve been coming here to study or for their events for a long time and have always been able to find somewhere to sit. Sometimes it can be a bit loud when there’s big groups of students but otherwise the noise level is decently low. They also have a good range of resources available and reliable Wi-Fi

Great library with lots of study space, however their carts are incredibly loud and are frequently and actively rattling around the whole establishment. Seems like an easy fix, but it's been the same every time im here.

Their wifi is super slow and their heater was not working! It was -2 outside and that felt better than inside.

Modern design, automated check out for library items and service staff is available if you don't want to use the computer self help. Clean and airy environment.

I love it here. Clean, quiet, with lots of great stuff. Also the digital and online media are really good. If you haven't, try Kanopy for good quality streaming

The place where children read books is very noisy and noisy. It is like a playground, and the children are happy. The adult island area is segregated and very quiet. This is a great place for families.

Great resource centre. Very friendly staff. I am not very fond of some of the renovations. I love the new kids section. There are activities for all ages.

The books are great and it's pretty. I found the librarians kind of disruptive, kind of suprising for a study space. Other than that a nice facility!

Simply fantastic! I am most pleased with the excellent level of customer service that I received from a lovely chip by the name of DANIEL! He really knows how to make a person feel very welcome! He exhibits a high level of customer service! Imagine, it's close to end of the night, I have just returned some items and the drop box has not properly logged my return. The assistance that he offered me was simply the best! He took his time. He showed care and concern and he did what he needed to do to ensure that my return was handled appropriately! I am just quite taken by him! Thank you Daniel your the best! I really appreciate you! Thank you for your high level of service! Keep up the great work and I certainly hope the VPL certainly know what they have in you! Keep well!

What a wonderful establishment! Every time I enter the literary facility I am surrounded by a positive environment filled with quiet and ableness to conduct study sessions. The vending machine is only a plus considering it allows me to fill my stomachs needs through a plethora of delicious goods. Overall this library is quite an amazing place that should remain open for eternity.

I’ve been studying at this library for 4 years and every time I come here there’s loud chatter from the librarians who make no effort most of the time to lower their volume while walking through the study sections. This week 3 times I’ve been curtly and rudely informed I’ll be asked to leave if I don’t wear my mask when I’ve only ever had it lowered long enough to drink water, in the isolated section of the library where i had plenty of distance with other people. I usually wear my headphones and mind my own business and overlook the noise but it’s quite irritating to be interrupted even further and so impolitely.

They were so helpful and went out of there way to make sure I found what I was looking for. Excellent customer service!

Rude staff jumping to people and said "wear your mask, second warning you are going out"
this rude behaviour in library was unexpected and too much attitude as my mask was down of my chin for 2 minutes, interestingly they serve coffee and snack here so they probably want us eat and drink by looking at them.lol

This is a really good library! They are really helpful when I ask questions, their printer works great and have a great selection of different types of books and video games. I enjoy this library a lot and come here often.

The library I've been going to my entire life. Large selection of books, lots of places to study, extremely helpful staff. The curbside pickup is well thought out, with staff taking all possible precautions and the process being very speedy. I would really recommend filling out the "Your Next 5 Reads" form on the VPL website; librarians take the time, love, and care to come up with your next 5 reads, based on your specifications. All in all, great library! Do visit and pick up some books!

Super helpful staff during this lockdown. While it's not business as usual, curbside availability makes it at least accessible to borrow some books

They have amazing staff and there is a lot of room to be socially distant. Its also nice and quiet

This is a very spacious/well-organized library. It offers plenty of study/parking space. Highly recommend this location for people that are looking for some study rooms/desks.

This is one of the bigger library branches in Vaughan. The decor is quite modern with a lot of ameneties that other libraries don't offer. You can sign out laptops, BluRay, DVD, XBOX and Playstation games. There's even stationary bicycle for those that want to workout and read at the same time.

The Wifi is fast and there is still a broad collection of books and magazines to choose from the shelves. The popular ones even have multiple copies. Lots of booths and seating for studying with each spot having an electrical outlet. Excellent location to spend your day at.

Great kids section and well stocked. Pre covid, this place was very busy. Still worth a visit now.

Big area nice and quiet organized many many books you need it you got it they even have video games and laptops for work or anything really!

Great place to study or read (experience may vary depending on the time of day) due to its spacious interior.

I love this place. It provides charging outlets, WiFi, and bright lighting. And if you're far enough from the toddlers, you can peacefully study and read wonderful books on comfy seats.

Great libraries like this one unlock imagination and you never know where they'll take you -or who you'll meet!

This is not a library for quiet study despite it having signs to having a "quiet study" area/facility. They have a lot of events here that cause a lot of noise and no one really regulates or manages the disruptive people. If you need a quiet space, I suggest you go somewhere else. Otherwise it's a decent library. Clean.

Do not park your car here. I've been here several times and every time I'm here, theres always a scratch on my car doors

I would like to give 5 star to the library for their unique stuff and the atmosphere. The staff was nice with all the people and the way they communicate was appreciable. If i talk about the book, all were awesome. Recommended place for readers.

Not recommended for anyone looking for any level of quiet library. It is actually closer to being loud than quiet. Vehicle parking is plenty thanks to the mall next to it but that is about it.
So many students, so much noise, clearly staff here have no control or does not care.

What was once a great spot to study/read is now tunred into a loud and noisy hotspot for unruly high school kids with little supervision. Whatever measures the library takes (an older gentleman going around once an hour shushing) is clearly not enough.

People make to much noise and the staff takes no effort to keep it quiet specially on weekends afternoon, it feels like a kindergarten/ playground.

Not a very quite library. Kids play all around the place. Not suitable for someone who needs a silent study area

Lots of great programming for babies and toddlers. I didn't see what the library looked like before the renovations, but it is a nice, bright, and open space for kids to enjoy activities. I like the STEAM storytime and other STEAM activities promoted at the library. The self check out area and app makes it very convenient for families to hold books and grab them on the go which is important for busy parents. My only complaint is that there isn't as much baby book selection in this library relative to others in Vaughan (I've been to four others).

4 starts for the library facility but 1 star for the environment! If you are looking for a quiet studying environment where people are mature enough to keep their voices down and respect others this is not the place for you! This place is filled with high school kids who chat loudly and constantly.
North York Library would be a much better choice for you.

Currently the library is closed for renovations and there is a sign that says it will open again "in the fall" - it is not clear when

All it says is it reopens this "Fall". Does it mean September 22nd or December 21st? What falls under your definition of "Fall"? You are dealing with literate people here & you should know that we like precision.

If you are trying to avoid having people coming to find out if the library is closed or not, it does not help by giving them this vague time-frame because it will just have us come back and check regularly anyway!
