Fantastic institution that has been around since the 40's. My grandfather used to talk about coming here. Never regret making big head-fi purchases at BBR because people like Bernardo Lizarraga make sure you're taken care of. He made sure when I had a pricing mixup with my Audio Technicas during the Black Friday sales that I was able to receive a partial refund without having to take a second trip to the store. Every time I come to check out/buy headphones/IEMs is always a pleasure. Some of the best selection you'll find in Toronto. Addison is just the best; he does an amazing job with determining what gear will fit your tastes and is great to talk audio with.

Best and only place to invest in your audio/visual needs. I purchased my first NAD receiver 18years ago and BBR did the the set up. Recently the original BBR sales and service representative Ryan returned to my home to do a new installation. I was awe struck by the detailed set up required for what I thought was a simple system.

You wouldn't buy a car bring it home and install the engine. Same applies to a sound system, let the experts assemble it!

I recently purchased a Sony Bravia OLED 77" TV. Neil Underwood's excellent product knowledge was provided with a very personable and interested nature. The TV is beyond awesome. I have a very high end receiver with surround sound and I have to say Sony's TV sound is a close second.
YOU CAN'T GO WRONG with Sony, but YOU WILL GO WRONG, if you don't buy it from BBR. The delivery was free and unlike an unnamed big box store has it's own courteous staff that unpack and set it up for you. Such a change from having a box dumped only to open it and find the TV screen cracked.

Good: vast inventory, nicely renovated. Bad: disappointing service every time, high prices. Tried to get a quote a while ago and didn't hear back for 3 days. Asked to demo speakers with a particular reciever and was told it's not possible even with an appointment. Bought music streamer and was reassured by staff after checking that optical cable is already included ; came home and no cable so now have to order and wait to receive while 14-days return policy keeps running. My advice: buy from smaller competitors or trust your own research and buy direct
Update: upgrading stars, got a call from staff and resolved. Good that they stand behind their business/product

Fantastic customer service. I had an issue with some headphones I bought from them and they took care of me no questions asked. I’ll trust them with all my audio/tv tech in the future, hands down.

Site unseen, Dave at Bay Bloor Radio designed the most amazing system replacing my 25 year old system. It was designed around my budget and expectations and it has delivered in spades. So happy with our new and improved sound and I highly recommend BBR to others.

BBR are a great company to do business with. Very honest and extremely helpful, they will always be my first choice for any hifi purchases. Attentive and customised service from the very first email exchange, they were thoroughly professional from the word go. It's difficult to express how wonderful my experience here was, but I'll try. First: I'm new (not totally green, but new) to the audiophile world, and I fully expected to be treated dismissively and have to "prove" myself. Instead, I had probably one of the best reps ever (if you're going in for headphones, pray that Addison is working!), who intuitively understood what I was looking for, as well as the importance of the heart in this whole sound thing. No pretentiousness, no condescension, just a very kind & extremely knowledgeable human with a real delight in the joy of music and sound. It was the perfect way to kick off what I know is going to be a lifelong exploration.

The store itself is beautiful (worth visiting just for the aesthetic tbh), the stock is fantastic, and y'all made a lifelong customer with the impeccable service. Can't wait to go back and continue playing with sound.

Ive recently had a disappointing and unfortunate experience with Bay Bloor Radio whereby a sales rep tried to deliver an inferior product to the one that I had originally ordered and put a deposit down for a month prior.

I had ordered the Samsung HW Q950A in December and was told it was on backorder until January and that I would be 5th on the list to receive one. Come January, I called them to check the status and they mentioned that it was out of stock permanently and they tried to deliver the Q900A with separate wireless rears and claimed there would be no difference compared to the Q950a. However, the Q900a + rears only provides a 9 channel experience compared to the 11 channels in the Q950a and would be 200 dollars cheaper than the Q950a at retail MSRP.

Therefore, by offering me this inferior product as a "substitute" and trying to pass it off as exactly the same as the flagship product with no offer to reduce the price, I feel as though I almost fell victim to a bait and switch. Worst yet, the boxing day sale prices are all over and I can't even buy the Q950a at Bestbuy or another store at sale prices anymore. Terribly disappointed with this service and I warn other potential customers to be wary of these sales tactics.

The absolute best in town. I can’t recommend this store more highly. Personal service in its highest form. Amazing products, super knowledgeable staff, and keeps it local, win, win, win. Special shout out to Oliver and Dave for going above and beyond.

Kind or rude staff, very noisy place, not appropriate for auditions. The store is very hard to find inside the Manulife Centre, no signs or map except touch screens that don't look like maps, where you risk to pick up infection. Also, if you phone the store and ask them to help you locate them - they will not tell you and will suggest to ask the security guard, which is, also, not seen anywhere. So, I spent 20 minutes to locate their store, when allowed street parking is only 15 min. The sales person, first, could not turn the equipment on for the audition, finally, he succeeded, but It was not possible to assess the sound due to extreme noise around. He, also, did not know how to match the amplifier with the speakers and how output power changes when impedance varies. So I gave up and purchased the same speakers at Bestbuy just 1 hour later. The front desk secretary at Bay Bloor Radio is very rude, saying she does not have time for you - not sure why she is sitting near the entrance there. Congratulations with your missed sale for today, my money went to your competitor and will always go there from now on!

Excellent service and diverse product range. From full hifi systems to in-earphones. Well renowned brands in the audio world. The team is well knowledgeable, passionate, patient and there to help. They welcome you to test products as much as you like and for as long as needed. And even suggest that you come back another day if you need more time. I have dealt with Addison when I went there on both occasions and it instantly felt like two pals talking about their music passion. His recommendations were always spot on.

This is the worst store in Toronto they sell products that don't work they over charged me by 70$ for headphones that never worked in the first place.there customer service is terrible they lie and are extremely rude. They had my head phones for three months without even trying to replace or fix or even contact me.it would seem that they are more concerned with getting there rebate on the headphones than actually helping there customers.

During Covid we decided to finish our basement, with all the details involved in design, materials and trades we forgot about audio video. When the light bulb went off I immediately contacted BBR to see how they could help and guide me through what would be required with regards to my wish list. Ryan at BBR was incredible, his knowledge and expertise was second to known. He really listened and guided us through the installation process, that's when Mike came in, Mike laid the ground work prior to ceiling being installed and then did the install painlessly and to perfection. If only the renovation could have gone as smoothly.

Very very pretentious, arrogant staff. Aside from being talked down to by staff members, I have attempted to purchase various cartridges in store and am told each time that despite the website showing items in stock and employees confirming this over the phohe, all of the stock is on hold. If you’re planning on ordering things online, which it seems you have to from Bay Bloor, you will easily find the same products for much cheaper on other websites.

During Covid my listening hours increased a lot. My vintage system still sounded great but with more time what does a serious listener do but research a new stereo system? My journey to making the purchases at BB took about 6 months. When i finally had enough information to ask some intelligent questions i contacted the store and met Mr. David Wong. David is extremely knowledgeable and really settled my mind on what I should be looking at. The result - one fabulous upgraded sound system. BB not only handles high end HiFi but also provides high end customer service - Well done and thank you. MB

Definately not same service I recieved few years ago. Definately not going back even again for purchasing. Agent straight up says has he no knowlege abt the speakers I bought and was not even willing to refer me to another agent that knew abt them. I guess he want me to just pay, grab and go. Done it once. Not happenening again. Coz not coming back again.

Addison is the best ever. Bay & Bloor Radio is lucky to have such an excellent and knowledgeable team member. It’s people like Addison what sets this store apart from the mediocre rest. Shopping there is an experience for people who care about good values and a personal touch.

Excellent store. They are quite knowledgeable, carry very good product lines and shipping is free and lightening quick. Pricing is in line with other retailers, nothing fantastic, but not over priced either.

I truly do not understand this place, I go in ready to spend 4k on home theatre speakers+, they made no effort to sell anything, only showed me an out of stock item, and when transferred after calling later in the day was left on the phone for 5 mins. So I hung up and spent my money on Amazon. I don't see how they can possibly stay in business.

Curb side pickup is a joke. You park in the parking garage walk all through the mall t0 the outside door then pickup your package and walk all the way back down. Says nothing about this in the email you get regarding curbside. Total joke from such a supposedly high end store. I would have had the items shipped and saved myself the headache.

During the lockdown I was in need of some quality speakers and could not get out to check them out for quality and sound. I called BBR and reached a salesman named David Wong who went over and beyond in helping me pick out a superb pair of speakers (Dali Opticon 2) of which he said would suit my listening preference.
They made my purchase very easy and came right to my car. (Wow)

I was so impressed that I went back a few days later and bought a streamer DAC (Blue Sound Node 2i). He advised me of the best one to purchase for my needs and I have not stopped streaming music ever since.
I would recommend shopping at this store and ask for David Wong.

What an incredible experience! Highly recommended! David Wong has the most amazing customer service I have ever experienced. He went above and beyond to help us with the purchase of Kanto speakers for our new record player. My husband and I have no experience with this at all. He gave us what we needed and did not try and upsell us on something we didn't. He made sure we understood how do set them up and use them. He checked up on us the next day. He walked us through a problem we had. He didn't just sell them to us and then it was over, no he made sure that we were happy. We are so grateful and look forward to years of service from him.

We have been remiss in not writing a long time ago. Ryan Wright of Bay Bloor is the most amazing support and advisor regarding sound systems a person could want and need. While I know the sound I love, I had no idea how to achieve it. Ryan guided us through the process with infinite care and patience. The results have proven to be exactly what we wanted. The Ryan Wright and Agostinho Costa team from Bay-Bloor Radio are an unbeatable combination - expert, efficient and totally reliable. Had them redesign and install a whole new audio-visual and home technology system in my place. They knew exactly what had to get done and they got it done perfectly, flawlessly planned, coordinated and executed.

Ryan was the best. Not pushy just education and listening to what your needs are. The products and installation were superb.

A bit of a delayed review however wanted to express my gratitude for the BBR team for all the hard work that went into preparing my first ever home theatre room. Ryan Wright was a pleasure to deal with. From my first showroom visit (when we were allowed), Ryan took the time to explain the different brands and what would work best for my space.

Once I confirmed I wanted to work with the team at BBR, Ryan drove up to my house for site inspection and met with my contractors. Once the space was ready, Ryan visited the site again with the install team led by Rob.a true professional. They pre-wired everything that was needed and spent several hours ensuring all was ready for the final install day.

Rob and his team worked many hours configuring the rack and ensuring all units were working properly. Ryan even visited after the fact for one final calibration and to tie up up a few loose ends.

Over the course of the pandemic, I was fortunate enough to have this new space to spend time with my family.from movie nights to enjoying the return of live sports.watching TV will never be the same.

Terrible service. Neil U. Salesperson. Passed us off twice. Wanted to buy and replace my high end sound system. Was ready to spend 4000 for BT speakers system. All the advertisement money spend to get me in the door. Shame shame on your team. BT Speaker Dept was useless, not patient, didn't ask question, only passed us off to another unprepared salesman. Won't get my money. Spend your money where the advertisement matches the service ie: best buy, or Amazon. Got Zero service here. No wonder retail stores are dying.

Great store, have only had good experiences here. They take what they do seriously and care about your business. Rob from the audio department helped me multiple times both with my vinyl setup and with finding some wireless headphones. The wireless headphone search ended up being a particular debacle - failed experiences with both the Sennheiser HD1s (ANC malfunctioning) and the Sony WH1000-XM3 (touch controls go haywire in cold weather), neither of which were the fault of the store at all. Returns for both were handled graciously and turned into a learning experience for both of us. Took what could have been a negative situation and made it very positive (went with the Bose QCIIs in the end). Very pleased with the experiences I’ve had, highly recommend.

While the products I've purchased at Bay Bloor Radio have been great, I find their sales staff hard to attract. Every time I've been in the store, I've seen sales staff approach other customers asking if they could help them. Not me.
The other day there was a sales staff who appeared to be working at a computer terminal so I thought he must be busy. I was in the store for more then 5 minutes and no one approached me. Guy at terminal still busy. Then he notices two customers, stops what he's doing and asks them for help. I wasn't the happiest. After he was finished with them, I approached him and did get the help I needed (although I did feel like he would have rathered been doing anything else but help me) and bought a set of headphones.
Again, this type of service is not a rare occurrence for me.

Its a great shop, and the staff actually knows a lot about the products they sell unlike bestbuy. Also, their price is not much different from other big company electronic shops. But, you get a lot more customer service from this local shop. Before coming here, I actually thought I might be pressured to buy the product I tried, but there was no pressure at all while I was trying out multiple products and asking a lot of questions.

They carry top of the line products and sales team is knowledgeable. I have bought two TVs (Samsung Frame) the past two cyber Mondays. Ask for Dave I.

I just wanted to acknowledge the 'amazing' service that I recently received from both Josh (Sales) and Mike (Installation) on a big purchase at BBR! Given my experience with Josh and Mike with my first purchase at BBR in 2014, I knew I had to have these guys on my latest home project, which was much bigger in scope and budget.

Not only did these guys not disappoint, I have to say that they exceeded my expectations at every step of the project. Josh was simply outstanding in putting the right package together for the project. Mike was simply outstanding in making sure the installation was done right. I very rarely see the kind of pride and professionalism that both of these guys exhibited in retail today. The customer service and workmanship is simply second to none!

I look forward to working with them again in 2019 to help make the backyard as every bit of an entertainment paradise that they both made the inside of my new home.

Worked with Neil Underwood yesterday to find a sound system for my new condo. Incredibly professional and knowledgeable. He did not oversell and was very patient with myself, an inexperienced buyer.

Toronto's premiere home sound store no doubt. AnaAmaz product, great advice and decent prices if you watch for sales. Got done heatg advice 10 years ago when I was looking for speakers and got some amazing totem accoustic speakers I still love to this day. I have always been treated great at BBR.

My family purchased a Sonos system, Nam amplifier and new Bowers & Wilkins in ceiling speakers for our main floor Ryan walked us through a number of options for equipment after coming to our house and looking at design plans for furniture layout in all rooms. He managed to work within our budget while ensuring that we achieved the sound we were looking for. Installation was pain free and the system has been incredibly easy to use.

Ryan and the team also helped us to recycle an old surround sound system for a basement renovation and provided on site assistance from initial construction stages (including all electrical wiring) to the final installation of all of our old equipment (amp, wall speakers, in ceiling speakers, sub woofer and DVD player). He recently returned to help fine tune the system to ensure speakers were all balanced, giving us the best sound for our system.

BBR staff have been outstanding in providing expert advice and service. I have dealt with other stereo stores in the past and BBR is above and beyond other providers. Gold glove service and will continue to use them for all of our stereo needs in the future.
