Walking along the path gives a good experience of the relative distances of planets in the Solar system.

Took my grand kids and they love it; part of the play area is shape as a rocket. And, there is a water area lots of big open space for the kids to run and play. Also, you bring your table and chairs and have a picnic

Busy park - lots of parties held here. Splash pad, large play area for kids, basketball court, soccer field, and some exercise bars laid out around the park (pull up bars, dip bars etc). Only gripe is that parking lot is pretty small and park is not always very clean. (Found several inappropriate items on the field).

Great park with splash pad. Walking path with play ground as well. One of the best parks on Whitby area. Limited parking but street parking is available.

Spacious park, some calisthenics for kids 12y/o and up. A bit small for adults. Overall good pair for families.

Loved the massive rocket shaped structures that kept up little one engaged n happy. Play areas are split for all ages keeping it safe for little ones. Lovely path and area to play badminton and other sports for friends and family.

My kids love this park. Though sometimes it's difficult to enjoy when teens and middle schoolers show up.

Fantastic place for kids and has good seating for adults too. Lots of slides and a great splash pad. It as much fun as a kids area at a place like wonderland. Cannot recommend it enough. Part of the playground is for really small kids the rest is for bigger kids with four slides and a massive fifth one that is quite high.

Nice big slides in the park which you won't find usually in community park. It has a splash pad and a multi purpose playground. You can easily spend a day with kids here. Parking space I feel could be an issue on some busy days but rest its a nice park.

This park is really cool. It's a really big park and all my children love gping here, thats including my 17 year old son as well lol. They have a basketball court a water place to run around and get wet to cool down, they also have a mud pit for kids to play in and add tons of water. They have a huge field as well picnic tables for parents and family to sit at lots of places to sit down by the trees in shade or to put a blanket down and have a picnic with the family. It's about a 10 mins walk from my house and they kids always ask to go every few days. They have 2 slides that are really really big and alot of fun to go down them they also have a toddler.park as well where my 2 year old love to play and wants to go down the slide by herself lol. All I have to say is that you need to see it for yourself to understand why it's so fun and just nice to take the kids out to have some fun for a few hours.

It is great place for kids. There is one huge structure with slides for bigger kids and another smaller structure for younger kids. Also a water pad makes the park fun for kids of different ages

One of the best parks in the area for kids. The elaborate slides are the best feature. Lots of space to run around too

Great park for kids. The rocket park is fun for the kids and the water park in the summer is well made. It is well spaced out and has a god variety of water activities

Always love this park it's been years since we last went but it still looks the way it did when we went
12 July 2021 16:56
Lovely place for the kids and it's hard to get them to leave once they get there. A little overcrowded, and not much shelter to protect the parents from the weather. Huge parking area by the baseball park so avoid roadside parking.

Definitely a must visit park. Huge play ground for kids of all ages. Large splash pad plus a sand pit with water fountain to make mud! Super cool! Also has a parking lot so you don't have yo park on residential street, benches with shade, picnic tables and lots of shaded grass areas.
06 July 2021 15:52
Pretty open park that you can see your child from almost anywhere. A decent splash pad and a fun sand box with water sprayer
16 June 2021 14:15
My 9 year old said that she liked it but it got boring on the climber because it was the same on both sides. Even the big slides were the same. The splashpad was okay but it turns off too fast and almost everything turns off at once.

Not a park for kids aged 10 and under, it's very big, easy to lose track of your kids and more older aggressive kids hang out, take the younger ones to the park on Country Lane in Whitby, next to Captain Michael Vanden boss school

Very nice play ground for kids but unfortunately we found this park at the pandemic time so we try to avoid go at peak time.

Big park. It’s for bigger kids (5-12). 4 stories structure, monkey bars, mad area and huge field. Splash pads area is big too.
29 October 2020 4:46
Such a great park. The structure is impressive and it's nice when it's a rubber playground - no mess. Our LO loved it!
They had 2 structures for younger and older kids too

Have good play area, kids are really enjoying but I am disappointed for Not having enough lights on park area And no washroom for kids.

Busiest park in Durham
Be nice if parents watched their kids a bit
My 1.5 year old nearly got trampled 4× in 45 mins
Kids climbing all over the outside of the slides someone's gonna get seriously hurt here
Otherwise it's a great park hence its popularity

Another great park to bring you kids, on a beautifully sunny day, it can get over swamped in kids. So keep your eyes on them. There is also water sprinklers here, and along the path is a series of different work-out stations.

Best park in all of Durham, hands down! Definitely a place worth checking out if you have children 12 years and younger.

This is a great place to take your children for a play day or go for a run, workout, play soccer, or basketball with friends and family.

One of the cooler parks in the area! My 6 year old loves going here, there's so much fun stuff to do! Love coming in the summer as well when the splash pad is open.
26 October 2019 19:51
Always a happening spot. Mostly older children so be mindful of your littler ones. Sometimes visited by camps in the summer, a bit busier.
25 October 2019 18:29
Love this park! Nestled in off the busy street and such a hidden gem. The kids love climbing the rocket structure, they had different sized slides, rock walls, and ladders. They also have a small splash pad and a gazebo for some sun shade. No public bathrooms. Park is relatively clean from garbage.
16 September 2019 14:15
Getting long in the tooth now. Bring young kids early in the morning as the larger older kids come later and it becomes unsafe for the little ones

The Rocketship Park-also known as Baycliffe Park-is a delightful park for children of all ages and their families. It's very well maintained and clean. Lots of places to sit; benches, tables with adjoining benches, grassy knolls. The park entrance and grounds are accessible.

Popular park for school age children. I have younger children who like the water park and the slide for the younger children. But it can get busy with older children and becomes hard to maneuver with the younger ones. Love that they have benches and tables available for adults and anyone who is picnicking there.
11 May 2019 3:40
The park is well maintained. My 9 year is complaining some of the ladders are getting harder to climb but my 5 year old has no issues. Park structure is not handicapped accessible and is not fenced in.
07 May 2019 20:54
Love the playful park of rockets and even the outdoor exercise walk around the great football pitch and full court basketball court
18 April 2019 12:19
One of the best playgrounds in Whitby. The theme of science and discovery goes beyond just the Rocketship designed play structure which itself is pretty spectacular. Some of the other neat things include a walking path which allows you to take a to-scale stroll through our solar system, a large sundial, a musical jumping pad, and more.

What a neat little park. It's all space themed! The slides and play area go up real high so just keep an eye on the little ones. There's a trail with stops every few meters that are little excercise points with instructions. Knocking off a star because at the time of writing this, half that trail is blocked off because of construction.
