BBQ Golden Grill

Ordered the goat and Haitian rice. It was super flavourful, tender and delicious.
The service was friendly and quick.
I'll definitely be going back to try some other menu items.

I didn't listen and I paid for it. Biggest waste of money. $14 for one drumstick. They didn't even have the decency to throw in some rice in there. No AC in there and its about 30 degrees in there. Also not sure why they have someone who doesn't speak English manning the phone and front desk. Go to the Indian place next door.

I ordered half BBQ chicken which was fine, but the BBQ Ceasar salad & jalapeño poppers went into the garbage.
Completely inedible. Would recommend taking them off your menu.

Chicken was good but, portion was the smallest I’ve seen when ever served chicken. Plantan was good but, again small portion.

We were going to Mekong but they are closed. Something about the kitchen equipment. So I goggled African restaurants and BBQ Golden Grill was the closest. I'm so glad Mekong was closed.

Dinned in here with my colleagues, and decided to not visit this restaurant ever again! We preordered the food (30 minutes in advance) but still it took them 40 minutes to prepare our orders (not even all of them). The price they had on their website and menue wasn’t updated. The portion wasn’t convenient for the prices that they’ve asked for. Restaurant wasn’t very clean and tbh, the food wasn’t authentic at all. The staff was offended after hearing our comments about price and quality of food.

Don’t be fooled by the ratings and go on the lowest rating to find truth. The food was INEDIBLE. I ordered chicken with rice and the rice was RUBBER. The rice was chewy, I’m chewing and typing as we speak! As an African I expected ATLEAST mediocre FOOD. I had to throw the rest away. What a waste of 20$.

Really good food. Try out their goats, chicken, plantain, talk about their fish wow. I love love

The Beef Patties and the Samosas (Beef and Chicken) are absolutely top notch. Very Tasty!

Great place to enjoy the tasty and spicy cuisine in the serene Ottawa environment. I was really impressed that such a Jewel is in Ottawa. I will surely visit again when I am in town.

Food is horrible. Nothing like African food! Portions are small for the price. I bought goat meat it was not grill its more like boil goat with a bunch of onions and herb! Would never eat here again. Chef cannot cook

Horrific experience ordering with skip the dishes. The restaurant canceled my order 3 times telling me they were sold out, picked a replacement and then called again saying they were sold out of the replacement too. Will never order from them again.

If i could give negative stars i would. I have always ordered from this place and every time they mess up my order and request me to place another order (iam footing the extra expenses) as thats the only way they can get my missing items to me.
Today May 13th i place an order and had to wait 1 hour for it, its finally delivered and boom, items missing again. I call the restaurant and there is this guy on the other side who is very rude and tells me to place another order or else there is nothing they can do for me and has the guts to hang up on me. I wish the owner could do something about this because i see other reviews with exactly my same experience. Horrible!

This place is receiving unfair reviews. Took the chance on it last night and boy oh boy were we glad. The food was INCREDIBLEY flavourful. Like wow every bite lit up our taste buds and left us hankering for more. The fried plantains were top notch. The djollof rice was quite nice. The half chicken was unbelievable. The veggie samosas, they tasted different but the spices and flavours were out of this world delicious. The dough was a tad chewy but didn't ruin the experience by any means. Flavour is king. I chop the texture up to being delivered and not fresh in restaurant. The Jamaican patties were a nice cheap add on. Let me tell you the value for your money is fantastic. Incredibly delicious food. Super flavourful and very well priced. Highly recommend. This has just become our go to takeout place for sure! Can't wait to try more food!

The chicken was dry and microwaved. I got the walk in special and they didn't give me the right change back. There was barely any meat on the chicken. I will never go back to this restaurant.

Amazing! I got some African food here. Nigeria's Jollof rice to be precise. Nice place, well laid out and great service. What's more, this place is open late into the night. I came in just a few minutes before mid night and not only found somethig to eat but was met by delivery guys and riders from Uber Eats and Skip the Dishes. Try it out.

Ordered Dinner 2A for pickup. Was told it’ll be 25 minutes. Food ended up taking twice as long. Fries were cold and chicken was average.

Love the jollof rice and BBQ chicken.plantains are tasty.chikwange was soft.yummy.lady was polite. I recommend.

Very poor service and the driver was extremely unprofessional. In addition, the restaurant was not familiar whatsoever with the DoorDash delivery service.
The restaurant involved with this DoorDash order is Gladstone Golden Grill located in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.
I placed an order with DoorDash and I only receive the small number of the cans of pop which were part of the order.
By the way, my method of payment was Apple Pay which is supported by DoorDash but apparently the restaurant had no idea about Apple Pay.
Not only did the restaurant feel they were not responsible at all, but the driver was extremely abusive when he did arrive.
Upon contacting the restaurant they indicated that they didn’t really know what they were doing because they had only been using DoorDash for two days! If they are using DoorDash why are they using it if they don’t know it works?
I provided some detailed instructions as to where to deliver the food to the restaurant, but unfortunately when the driver arrived I had to go downstairs to pick up my food.
I would never ever recommend this restaurant and I will definitely not place an order with them again.

Been ordering food from here for the past two years with skip the dishes. My order usually consists of djollof rice with a side of hot sauce, a whole chicken and the goat dish and it feeds two people, with some leftovers for the next day. It’s been great most times-with maybe the chicken being dry once. All in all, food is great just wish the wait time was shorter!:)

Common complaints about the third party delivery service should be about the delivery service company and not this restaurant.the delivery drivers should be checking to make sure your order is right before leaving the restaurant.

Common complaints about portion size.if you’re expecting a larger portion for.let’s say, a 16$ goat dish, you are in lala-land. Some of the foods they have on the menu aren’t cheap anywhere else so why should it be here?

I have ordered tandoori chicken and some other items.after an hour waiting for the order, called them, every time they would tell me it's on the way.time went by, I haven't received anything.called after 1 hour 45 minutes it turns out she did not make the order and was lying to me each time blaming the delay on the driver.very BAD restaurant.terrible customer service, dishonest employee.if u want that.just go to that place.
