Beckta Dining & Wine

We’ve been a few times over the years to Bektah. This time, my wife and I wanted to go for our gender reveal. I made plans with Sergio, the manager, to bring the envelope a week in advance and they made us a a cake with coloured icing in the middle. The food is always top notch, the service is perfect, and the desert was beautifully made and the best tasting desert we’ve had in a long time. We also were able to order an extra desert to go so we could relive the experience with our families. Thank you again to Bektah and Sergio for the amazing night!

Great food but wished more seasonal ingredients were showcased especially in the plant-based menu.service was very professional, perhaps a little too formal for the wine bar setting.ambiance was good considering it was a Monday night in Ottawa.

Amazing meal. We chose the 5 item taste. Each item was amazingly presented. Wonderful flavors. Perfectly prepared. The restaurant seating space is elegant, open and clean. Great location for a special dinner.

A very nice and quiet place! We did the 5 courses tasting menu and every plate was innovative and tasty. A very good evening! It is pricey but normal for this type of restaurant.

It was absolutely amazing! I took my wife and friends here to celebrate my wife’s birthday. Service was awesome from the moment we walked in the door. We had our own private little room. My wife is celiac and they made slight alterations in order to accommodate her. Four of us had the tasting menu. It was wonderful, one of the 5 items was sweetbreads, none of us had ever had them before. Our waitress described how they would be cooked and told us her own experience, we trusted her, we were not disappointed. In fact all of us said that it was our favourite dish. The waitress was super knowledgeable and provide us a tour of the wines. We could not be more pleased with our evening. My guests thanked me for making this a choice and inviting them along. Honestly I can’t say enough.

We tried the tasting menu. All the dishes were well prepared with interesting flavours. Overall the service was friendly and we enjoyed our evening out.

Everything was exceptional. Service from every person I interacted with was 10/10. Food was amazing and they were accommodating to all the guest. Our main waiter was always there right before our drinks were about to run out too. Can’t say enough good things about our experience.

Wonderful! We had a fabulous experience dining at Beckta. The cozy small room with only a few tables along with the exceptional service were a highlight. The food was fantastic and I appreciated the extent of choices of wine by the glass as well as non-alcoholic specialty drink options.

Place was beautiful and the food was great. Wished the tartare came with fancier crackers instead of chips. Wished the waitress brought our food faster, especially since we mentioned when we arrived that we had to leave by a certain time for a show. The service took forever and because of that we had to take our last plate that never arrived in a to-go box but couldn’t even eat it because we were going to a concert. Disappointing

The dining experience here was exceptional. The customer service, the food, the atmosphere were all 5 star awesome. We do not normally indulge in dining experiences of this scale but we were very grateful we did. They definitely provide an outing you should remember.

I had the 5-course, plant based tasting menu. Some of the courses were excellent, but one or two, while still extremely good, lacked a little panache - that amazing procession of pleasantly surprising flavours. Service was outstanding.

We really enjoyed the pace, knowledge, and friendliness of service. The five course tasting menu was fantastic, and the wine pairings were inspired. A great destination for a special evening.

Worse meal ever. Can’t believe they are above a one star. Complained after getting a 1200.00 bill. Got a 300.00 gift card to calm the storm. And just found out gift certificate was expired after 30 days!
Terrible spot Brutal!

Took clients there for dinner in the winter. From the moment we walked in, we were treated like royalty. If you are looking to impress, this is where to go on Elgin.

Booked a table in the wine bar part of the restaurant for the vibes and I was not disappointed. Beautiful decor and helpful staff made the overall experience spotless, but the food was the true hero. We had the tasting menu and each dish was delightfully put together with interesting combinations of flavors and textures. There was one dish I was not the biggest fan of (the pasta) but everyone’s tastes are different! My husband liked it. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The food here was superb! The beef tartare and duck were both exquisite and the perfect portion sizes too. I would definitely go back, as the flavours were very unique and rich!

We went out to celebrate and it did not disappoint! Service was great and the food was delicious, good portion sizes as well! I would recommend Beckta to anyone who enjoys fine dining

Beckta is one of Ottawa’s best restaurants. Year after year it is justly awarded a CAA 4 Diamond rating. It’s proprietor, Stephen Beckta, is not only a creative world class chef, but a community leader who gives back to Ottawa. It’s a beautiful atmosphere in a centrally located stately 19th century mansion. Each well decorated dining room has tall windows with street views, high ceilings and nicely spaced tables. The menu changes often but suffice to say, each offering is world class as well. We enjoyed a locally sourced charcuterie board with 3 sausage types, 3 cheeses, crusty savoury bread chips and a sweet chutney. Green olives and hot mustard added to the flavour. A perfect wine pairing added to the experience. Our main courses were Cornish Game Hen and Ling Cod. The fish was pan to plate, just the way I like it. Absolutely divine! There was barely room for dessert but those too are the perfect size and a fitting course to end the night. Service is top notch. Attentive, but not rushed and respectful of the diners’ privacy! Highly recommend!
