Bellfarm Walk in clinic

Doesn't deserve a star but needed one to post. Clinic opens at 5pm at 5.20pm after waiting in line for 1/2 an hour people coming out said the clinic is closed not even the decency to inform all the people lined up to register to tell them. Very unprofessional practice.

They only Except patients that already have a doctor in Barrie. They will turn a sick child away. Because your not part of their family health team.

This is NOT a walk in clinic. Paid for parking, waited in line only to be told once I got to the counter that they couldn’t see my CHILD because my family dr wasn’t on their “list” … (I have a family dr in Newmarket which is closed on weekends) Absolutely ridiculous. What do the people who don’t have a family dr do? Or are new to the city/country? Isn’t a walk in clinic suppose to care of patients and not send them away? Aren’t walk ins suppose to relieve the stress of people going to emerg (which I ended up doing) ? They are the only clinic in Barrie opened on a Sunday and they turn people away! Disgusting “business”, down right horrible.

I tried to get my 83 yr old Mother treated there today, we believe she has Shingles. Her DR is on vacation until Aug 8th. She is in extraordinary pain, and can barley walk, covered in rashes and blisters. This clinic would not treat her because her DR is not on their list? The receptionist was rude and had no concern for her condition. This is ONTARIO folks, how dare they not look after her? The other clinics in town that were open had 4 hr waiting times, she cannot sit in a chair long enough to wait. Yes there always is the ER in the hospital but the last time my Mother was there, she contracted C-Difficile and it nearly killed her, so going back there in not an option. Bellfarm clinic should not be in business for health care, as they simply do not care. I will spread the word.

1 hour in line just to be told you only see patients if there doctor is connected to the clinic. PUT UP A SIGN!

Walk in clinic experience was excellent, all staff was extremely accommodating and polite. Dr. Katelyn Moss was able to effectively diagnose and help me. So grateful and happy with their professionalism.

What’s the point if this clinic? They only take patients who have family physician… there’s no one who accepts new patients in the area. So I just go and clog up the hospital emergency?

I do not have a Family Doctor that is on their List of Assosiated Physicians. Therefore, I was turned away.
I can't imagine someone wasting there time to bring in their child, thinking it is a Walk-In Clinic, and being turned away because of this.
This is Canada and Health Care is suppose to be Universal. It seems wrong to turn people away, especially when those who are coming are in need of help.
But, I guess it is a business and they can refuse service to whomever they please.

Refused care to my nephew on Sunday May 28th because his family doctor wasn’t on their “list”. This is Canada, he has a valid health card. I have NEVER heard of being asked who your family doctor is let alone a “list” specific to each clinic. What if we were newcomers to Canada and didn’t have a family doctor? ! This place should be close for refusal of care!

Just went today. Paid for parking than went to get registered to only find out that they are not accepting patients with doctors. Well, my doctor is all the way downtown Toronto. So they expect me to drive more than 2 hours to get there and back to my family doctor when I live in Barrie. And nowhere did it say that they are not accepting patients with doctors, not on their website or at the clinic. Just the receptionist telling me. They are a walk-in for a reason, but apparently, they don't know what that means. I can't believe I waste my time, money, and gas for a no good, useless, walk in clinic. They should be closed or dont open as a clinic that says walk in. Now I know why they received such a terrible review. They deserved less a star.

This is not a walk in clinic! It's only for people with doctors in the Barrie area which seems strange because no doctors in the area are taking on new patients. And if I had a doctor in the area I would just go to see them.

Only helps people if ur doctor is part of their health team. EXACTLY what this province needs right now

I'm giving a neutral review because they won't see you if your doctor is not on their list of affiliated doctors. This isn't bad or good. It's just what it is.

They only see people if your doctor is on their list! They don't advertise it. Even though they were empty today they wouldn't see my 2 year old with flu symptoms

Terrible walk in clinic if you need medical assistance they will not help you, go somewhere else. Don’t waste your time.

Arrived at the clinic at 6: 30 pm no wait, not a single person. We went straight in to see Dr Chan who was absolutely amazing.
This clinic is part of the Barrie Health Team and is no longer a public clinic. If your doctor is not part of BHT you will not be seen. I do not think this us a reason to give bad reviews …

Horrible place. Should not be listed as a walk in at all. My one year old was turned away for care because she had a cough.no covid but a cough. Absolutely unacceptable. Waste of a doctor's office. NOT A WALK IN CLINIC.if you're doctor is not on the "list" they won't see you.

Only supposed walk in clinic that is open in Barrie on the weekends, but will not see you unless you are an existing patient of one of the doctors practicing there.

Not actually a walk-in clinic. Tried to phone to see what wait times were like and was immediately sent to voicemail. Upon arrival at the clinic I was told I would need an appointment and if my family doctor was not on the list they wouldn’t see me. Drove in from Angus to try and see a doctor as all other clinics are closed today. Would be fantastic if they stated this somewhere outside the clinic so people don’t waste their time

Very kind receptionist, doctor was attentive and professional. With COVID chaos it’s best to find out online your best way of making an appointment, I saw some patients upset because they couldn’t see a doctor via walk-in but that’s just the system not the first responders policy.

Garbage, you not only need a family doctor you need one on the family health team which is very discriminatory even if it doesn't fall under a traditional category.its insane not being able to get help from a random doctor because you don't have one following up.its not easy to get a family doctor.this is disgusting.

Dr. Stewart was amazing! Nurse was fast, pleasant and professional! Busy is just the norm now and they’re doing amazing with what they’re given! God bless you in Jesus name, Amen.

Most useless clinic around. Went there for my 8 year old daughter, and after waiting over an hour with the most absurd registration process ever, they tell you they're an asymptomatic clinic and wouldn't diagnose her. By that time it was too late to go anywhere else. Ridiculous

The nurse checking me in made fun of my medical condition and wouldn't provide phone numbers for another place, and she shared my confidential medical information.

This rating is nothing against the people working here at all. It’s simply not a walk in clinic if you get turned away and told to make an appt instead. So unfortunately due to Covid restrictions (even years into the Covid issue) they technically won’t accept walk in patients past a certain time. Idk what that time is but, should it really be considered a walk in clinic if its by appt.

Our Dr is no longer available at this time! We have therefore used Bellfarm clinic 3 times for renewed prescriptions as all ours were cancelled. Our lab work cancelled and replaced by Dr's on duty and results reported. Each visit the receptionist and Doctors have been kind, considerate of our situation and cared for us. Couldn't ask for more.

We went here twice and the service was great every time. It gets very busy just make sure you go there early about 10 minutes before they open if you don't have appointments.

Arrived 5 minutes before appointment & first thing I saw was a man in the waiting room with his mask down.
Those at reception were friendly, but they informed me 3 people were ahead of me and (because I wasn't about to risk that environment) suggested coming back in 10 minutes; 10 minutes later he said the same thing, and after about 40 minutes he said I was next to wait in another room. I did initially request they text me when to come in for my appointment, but I guess there is some reason they are unable to utilize something that would not put everyone at highest risk.
I did complain about their protocol, mentioning the unmasked man, and stressing the fact they and most others weren't wearing a well-fitted mask (I suspect not even N95). The response "no one here has Covid" seemed naive at best and somewhat insulting.
Not unlike our government removing mandates, they needlessly allow their office to be a higher risk environment.
Update: although I prefer not to be treated as a special case (is the general public ignorant of or just lackadaisical wrt Covid?), they booked an appointment for me for 1st of day, and when I arrived there were already a few in the waiting room, but the doctor hadn't shown up yet.
Now I suspect this administrative incompetency could just be indicative of the level of care I would have received at this clinic; the doctor on the telephone was helpful though.

Every time I go to this clinic I get turned away. No matter how early I get there I get told they are running behind or full! I then look around and see two people waiting in the waiting room with no line up and there is 2 hours to go! Worst clinic c ever! They are not there to help people!

Make appointment for my daughter who is sick watch everyone walk in before her with appointment for a tb reading later then her apointment but they get seen when there are kids that are sick and parents make appointments so u dont bring kids in makes me sick how our health care does what it wants. And does even follow there own rules. 2 half hours later then her appointment we get in joke

My mother got sent home by the muslim receptionist because they “were at capacity” but she proceeded to take the other people from the same culture as her.

Poor service. So much attitude the receptionists have. Waiting is more than expected. Will never come back. Registration closed at 1 pm, even the clinic is open until 4 pm.

I've always found the walk-in clinic and the Doctors to be very good. All clinics have lineups of varying times, depending on the day and time.
