Oh my goodness, this 2.2 star review average is too high i think. I just talked to one of the rudest people in a capacity of customer service that I have ever experienced and thats quite a bar. Initially she tried to redirect me back to the office that I originally called who had asked me to call her office. When i said, why would they tell me to call you then, she barked back: "how would I know! ". Well it was quickly determined that they had asked me to call her because i didn't have a student number, which she probably should have guessed since i didn't plug one in at the beginning of the phone call when the automated attendant asked me for one. After giving me my student number with a little bit of venom in her voice I asked her if thats all i need now to proceed and she responded back that it should be. Should be! It took me even more prodding and more venom and back talk from her before she asked if i have a York U username. I do not! So twice she was ready to shoo me off the phone without providing me with the right tools for my task.

The phone was breaking up while she was providing me with me user id info so I asked her to email me. Luckily the info I wrote down was correct and I was able to login. I was then faced with the most antiquated and confusing website that was not clear on how to proceed in my task so I called back. Got the same person. I'd like to talk to someone else, I asked. You will have to try calling back (and being on hold for another 20 minutes or more) because I cant transfer calls, she responded. Did you email me, I asked. Yes she says. No email. Whats your name, I asked (so I can possibly relay my experience to a supervisor). She hangs up phone.

York U, maybe its time you take a hard look at these bad reviews and do something. For an academic institution that expects excellence from their students and as an Alumni that spent much money on my degree and is continuously being asked to support my Alma Mater, it's absolutely disrespectful to allow your student services to be so incredibly incompetent and your web services to look like they stepped out of the early 2000's with no logic to them whatsoever. Shameful.

Rudest of all customer service agents, these reviews don’t mean much to them. But if you’re considering york, go somewhere else. As your advising needs won’t be taken care of and you would be just lost! Janice, the worst CSR.

AMAZING experience! Came in early and they helped me right away. My issue was of pressing immediate concern and Bettina was able to solve it very fast with the help of Marsha in admissions. Once my problem was resolved she went on to give me more information that would be helpful showing that she goes above and beyond to help students and make their lives easier. 10/10 experience!

I showed up very worried about some issues I was having with enrollment but Maya was very helpful and got me back on track very quickly.

It was actually a lot better than I expected. My in person wait time was about 10 minutes and I was able to receive the help I needed. Very kind advisor as well, unfortunately wasn’t able to catch his name.

The desk staff have always been nice when I've dealt with them. Any admin problems are not their fault.

Absolutely terrible customer service skills. Charles, the employee I spoke to, said I have to wait another few days on top of the month I have already been waiting in order to get my confirmation of enrolment submitted for my OSAP to go through. Then I proceeded to ask if there’s any way I can expedite it and he said no. I asked if he can wave the late fees I’m getting on my tuition bill and he said ok bye and hung up the phone. I am absolutely stunned at the lack of customer service skills. Who even hired these employers. It’s as if they’ve never been trained in customer service. I understand that they may not care because they’re just dealing with students all day but come on. You should at least be a tiny bit nice to people who call in asking for help. They are human beings after all. This one star is not even for the service I received today. There is one lady who was extremely helpful and kind when I called in last week. To her, thank you for your good customer service skills and for treating me like a human being. Please share your kindness with Charles because he definitely needs some today.
