Staff at the reception need to be trained for showing compassion… never seen such impolite person at front desk before…I don’t think it’s a problem with every staff at front desk… it’s just one woman who behaves as if we are at her mercy… Learn some telephone etiquette’s before picking up the calls and BE KIND….
BE CAREFUL! They are only about money there. At the appointment the doctor hurry you up to finish as quick as possible. And you are not able to talk about two symptoms at the same appointment. In another situation a family doctor was hurrying my wife up and telling her that she was over reacting with our 2 yo son with 39 degrees of fever. We left the clinic and went straight to saint Mary’s, from there the kid got transferred straight to grand river hospital due to a Bacteria infection. He was lethargic, stayed at the hospital for 4 days with no reaction.
Rude staff, reception miscommunicates with each other; one says very rudely that they don’t know the wait time (I can either wait or leave), when another one said “very soon” when I arrived….
Don't go here if you need a referral to a specialist. Called the front reception and they said they are able to do that there. Waited an hour to see the doctor just for him to tell me he does not give referrals.
It's very lucky to have Dr. Solomon as our family doctor. As new immigrants, we were a bit worried about language barriers, but Dr. Solomon has been amazing! He's super friendly and professional, and we never feel uncomfortable asking questions or talking about our concerns. We've been with him for almost two years now and couldn't be happier with the care we've received.
Waiting for 2 hours can’t get anything. Walk-in is not recommended. One of the front desks is very rude. The doctor is fine, but still couldn’t give me a diagnosis of my pains.
Terrible clinic, massively over crowded and doesn't prioritize quick visits but uses an archaic first come first serve. If someone will take 5min and be on there way don't make them wait 4 hours.
Worst walk in clinic we've been. 1 doctor 100 patients. Minimum waiting time 3 hours. Keep accepting patients even they are fully book with appointments! Never recommend to come here.
I am giving 1 star because there is no 0 star option. Dr. Hafuth should not be practising. He got the patient name, gender wrong in the requisition. Called 5 times to get results that lifelabs sent to them. They never called us to let us know the results to this day and they couldn’t even find the results. Lifelabs wanted to fax the results to them but they told us they are “too busy” to call lifelabs. These results were needed to see blood clotting post-surgery, so pretty important for the patient’s health. They are putting patient’s life in danger and CPSO should take disciplinary actions against them.
Was in and out in under an hour. Saw Dr Hafuth and he was friendly and helpful. Receptionist was very nice and overall a good experience. Was expecting a longer wait given the time of year and how sick everyone is but we were called in just 30 minutes. So glad we chose to go here!
Absolute disgusting attitude from both receptionists.im sure they’ve dealt with they’re fair share of rude customers/ patients, but to be so rude to someone who had never even been there was surprising considering they had literally just opened too.also waited an hour and a half to be seen.
Don’t recommend Benton Medical at all. I have Dr. Solomon and every concern or issue I have with my health or my daughters he pushes it through and says everything’s fine and not to worry. He never wants to prescribe me anything all he says you can buy it over the counter I always have to explain and go back and fourth on why I need the prescriptions. This has been going on since I moved to KW last year and had Dr. Solomon as my doctor. He’s even told me to stop breastfeeding my 6m old baby and that I should supplement with formula that formula is better and breast milk isn’t full of nutrients and start giving his reasons as to why and I would talk with him back and fourth because I didn’t want to stop and he just left the room and slammed the door with me talking I haven’t been back in a couple months because every time I go there’s always an issue. With them forgetting at least one or two prescriptions all the time, to saying get things over the counter. It’s so frustrating!
The doctors are great! The receptionist are useless. If you want to ensure you're feeling taken care of at EVERY step of your care I wouldn't go here because the receptionist can be kinda cut throat.
Doctors disregard patients thoughts and symptoms. Doctor said symptoms were due to mental health and to stop working myself up, after visiting ER and getting additional tests completed (that doctor would not allow due to how backed up the system is, and he did not believe my symptoms), I found out I had additional health concerns that were definitely not caused by mental health. When doctor gave me my results, he never explained long term impacts of my issues (issue should have lasted 6 weeks max, it lasted 3 months and was ongoing). And now I am going through the process on my own again.
This is the second time the doctor has disregarded patient health.
$130.00 to fill out 2 forms so I can get paid for time off. The unhappy with this comes from the laughter from staff when I said I had trouble affording this in hard economic times. Dr Solomon has been nothing but amazing the staff was the issue w staff thought it was funny
The receptionist are phenomenal and went above and beyond they emailed me at my blood requisition form when I had lost it and was at lifelabs I really appreciate them and also had a good encounter with the doctor many thanks
This is the first bad review I have ever written in my life, believe me I thought a thousand times before doing it. This is the second time I have been treated badly in this clinic by the receptionists. They think like robots and not like people, it seems that they do not want to work and transmit a lot of discontent in those who go there. On the other hand I have to say that the doctors are very good, and I have allowed the bad answers and bad faces of the receptionists, because in the end the medical attention is very good.
I was there one week ago, my toddler son have terrible sleeping coughing all the night in addition he is autistic, he couldn't explain his pain and till now still the same. He was seen by Dr Osama Hasan, we wait patiently and what we expect that to have our time as patient to got well check up like what we used to see, he checked the ear and heart beat and that's it (It's viruse and have great day), I was like oh wow really, never check his throat, the doctors must knows that some of their clients came with some medical certificates and they knew the health procedures, I bet he will treat his kids like this when they are sick.
Truly displeased with the attention of the receptionists at this clinic. I have had some bad experiences with the receptionists here before but it is only now that I have decided to write. On this occasion we were treated by a young, dark-skinned, brown-haired girl. She was really aggressive, rude, just like a machine, she reproduced what she said without looking us in the eye. I went to get the results of an eye test they had done on my daughter and they never called me to tell me the result, even though the doctor said that they should call us (even if the result was negative) because he needed to treat her. Summary: my daughter still has a sick eye because when I went she told me (just like the machine as I said before) that they could not attend me at that time (it was 4: 15 pm and the clinic closes at 6 pm). We explained that it was more than an hour before closing time and that we had asked for permission at work to solve the problem. But it was useless, zero sensitivity. We really felt mistreated and all that attitude was in front of our little girl. I think that the administration of the clinic should take more care of who they put to attend the patients, their ways of dialoguing with the public, their words and their communicational projection. The doctors are excellent. I hope they do something to improve what we patients complain so much about here in the comments
I received very bad treatment today in this clinic, the nurse does not accept appointments and no one answers the phone and for 10 days I was in pain, I did all the tests and waited for them to tell me the results and no one called me and the doctor did not receive anyone, 3 and a half years and my papers are with them, Today I found out that I do not have a family doctor, when my family doctor left the clinic, they told me not to leave the clinic and we will find a new family doctor for you, knowing that 4 new doctors came to them and did not put my family name with any doctor, and my friends accepted their names even though they came to The clinic was only a month ago, and I have been waiting for 3 years and a half.
I have been having sleep problems for past 10 years, and been waiting for family doctor long time. Finally got one here. He is one of the worst ones i have seen. Dismissive and just cut me off and prescribed sleeping pills.
I have seen better doctors in Urgent walk in clinics. Not sure why these doctors are in such a hurry that they wont listen to you. They all seem like rushing to something more important than listening to our concerns. I think most of them think so high of themselves, and do not feel the need to listening to us explaining about our problems. I only met a very few doctors who don't have that "I am a Doctor, and i know better" attitude and actually listen to you.
For the most part my experince here has been okay. But, on one occassion when I was having difficulty getting my 86 year old mothers perscriptions filled I had to speak with the receptionist who was so very rude. She switched it around and accused me of being rude. I will admit I was frustrated but I was simple asking questions to try to make sense out of why my 86 year old mother was having to wait to get her medication refilled when she was in to see the doctor just the previous week and they forgot to renew her medication. So disrespectful. But what can you do!
I've seen dr. Nabeel a couple of times and I still don't know if he is a good introvert doctor or if he doesn't know what he was supposed to prescribe for my concerns. His solution for almost everything is "take ibuprofen", which is frustrating. Because I don't need a doctor to tell me that! If I am booking an appointment it is because I already tried ibuprofen. However, in all my appointments I am proactive rising possible causes of my concerns and asking questions about the direction we are going to take and he was always open to them and answered all my questions. This is the point that he might be introvert and keep all the possibilities in his mind, instead of speaking them out loud and letting the patient know what he is thinking. He never refused to refer myself to a specialist either. I think he could also ask the patients if they have extended health and suggest exames/treatment that would be covered by it, to get a better diagnosis and treatment.
Doctor Nabeel is very patient, knowledgeable, friendly and efficient. The best doctor and staff I have ever had. He has terrific bedside manner and is always positive. He is an exceptional family doctor. He genuinely cares for his patients. Thank you so much for the difference you make in the lives of your patients.
I came to the walk-in clinic looking for attention cuz I was feeling awful. The doctor downplayed to my symptoms, even when I told him that I was feeling this bad for about 2 months, and practically asked me to leave the consult because I had “too many questions and I was healthy”. Please, do yourself a favour and don’t come to this place.
Benton medical clinic is a really great place for when you need to go in and get yourself checked out or get your family members checked out. The People there have great communication skills, friendly, organized, and fast. They will answer your phone calls and will call you back when you leave a message. Keep up the good work!
I called this morning around 10ish for general enquiry about what is usually wait time window for walk-ins. Receptionist was really rude and kept saying it I told you I can’t tell. I politely asked her please provide me a rough window it doesn’t need to be exact just an idea like 0-2 hours or between 3-4 hours so that I can arrange a baby sitter or someone for kids accordingly. Her reply was like a broken record, I told you I can’t tell you. Very disappointing, She was not willing to help at all. I am shocked and amazed that why giving a rough estimated wait time window is so difficult for her. Luckily I called another clinic their receptionist gave me the needed info and I arranged a sitter accordingly and saw the doc.
It was our first experience with the walk in clinic. And we really liked it. We went to the clink at around 8ish.receptionist was very helpful too. We didn't have to wait long time to meet a doctor.would definitely recommend this place.
Great Clinic, very clean, front staff are excellent, and very accomodating. Love the front office girls! It's the only reason I give this place 2 stars, otherwise it would be none. I love the girls at the front, they actually lift my moods when I go in.
My experience with any doctor in this clinic has been atrocious though, don't waste your time. If your in need to see someone contact Michael Kam at the Onyx Urgent Care Clinic. I believe he's the only doc that works there, works around the clock on his own and actually listens and cares.
If you go anywhere past the front desk in this office, walk back. You would be doing yourself a favor.
Absolute jokers, they don't care about patients, they're just in it for profit profit profit. Do not go here heed the warnings many others have posted, I wish I had.
Profit driven and extremely inconvenient. I would not recommend to anyone looking for quality long-term care. I don't normally leave reviews, but I found my experience so distasteful I feel obliged to leave a note. After discussing a minor issue for two minutes, I brought up my main issue with the doctor. This issue was urgent and time sensitive. The doctor informed me that I could only discuss one item per visit. I kindly agreed to return to the reception desk and get in line for another appointment. At the reception desk I was informed that I couldn't book a second appointment for the same day because they are unable to bill for the same patient visiting twice in the same day. They denied me service and told me to come back later in the week for my urgent medical needs.
Pleasant experience. Short wait time, nice receptionist, lovely MOA (who takes you into the room and asks you the reason for your visit in a private setting), clean, overall very professional and warm medical practice. Dr Hafuth was kind, efficient, reassuring and created a referral for me. Great clinic and I highly recommend.
Worst Place Ever. What’s the point of having registered with this clinic when they don’t even care. Called them around 3pm today to book the same day apt for my son, explained he isn’t well for past few days and we were waiting for the covid result, which is negative and i think he has infection. She said I can just walk in, around 5: 15 would be fine to be seen by the doctor. Was there accurately 5: 24 today, no other patient in waiting and just looking at me the bulky white receptionist said, “ we stop registration at 5 and we are not seeing any more patient today” mentioned her I called to book an apt and I was not told about it, she kept on talking to someone on phone (highly unprofessional) and ignored to what I said. Healthcare staff is supposed to be empathetic. No one visits a clinic for fun. This is the second worst experience here. Had to take my son to Onyx urgent care. It surely is time to change the family doctor.
I started going to BMC in the spring as I’d been looking for a new family doctor. I went on the waiting list easily, and returned 4 times for refills and specialist referrals. I’ve also had phone contact several times for specialist appointments and other issues. Every interaction has been excellent & receptionists have all been friendly, professional and understanding. The 2 doctors I saw were great as well. Personable, caring, efficient… and additionally encouraged age appropriate tests & wellness appointments to other specialists (everything I’ve missed in a family doctor since mine retired a few yrs back). I’m also now registered for the new family Dr there & have my first appointment in a few weeks. So glad I found this clinic. Parking is great & the building is clean and new looking.
First experience and very nice first impression with the walk in clinic. Very clean building and reasonable parking facility. The receptionist was very kind. I recommend this place.
My experience with this walk in clinic were amazing.
The receptionists were very kind The pharmacy were amazing The doctor was very kind and understanding he knew I was having a panic attack over why I was there and he helped me though it.
I am going to give a balanced and objective review irrespective of how I felt while I walked out of this clinic.
Clinic is in a great location in Kitchener, hours are typical, it’s very clean and there is a pharmacy on the same floor which is convenient. There is also free parking.
However, the first time I ever visited the clinic as a walk-in with my daughter, the doctor barely did a proper check up. My kid was definitely fussy and did not want him close like most toddlers and the Doctor gave up before trying. This was an utter waste of time. He conducted no form of proper medical check up. I was better off at home giving my daughter Tylenol for kids.
The second and FINAL visit was for a “meet and greet” with the new Dr. Al-Zubaidy to see if “the doctor will be a great fit as a family doctor” said the receptionist. I arrived early for my appointment (not walk in) and waited for 1 hour all for nothing as I had to go back to work. Again, utter waste of time!
The receptionist did not care in any way. No concern, no apologies, nothing! Even after I expressed how I had limited time. Please note that there was ABSOLUTELY NO ONE WAITING IN LINE.only noticed 2 patients waiting after me. I waited for an hour in the consulting room, no word or sight of the doctor and no update from the receptionist.
What does this mean.they do not care. It’s a numbers game and all that matters is for them to swipe that green OHIP card. Canada has to do better with the way walk-in’s treat patients.
But this clinic takes the cake! There is ZERO patient/doctor relationship. Just the quick 4 minutes chat. Save your self the stress and go somewhere else.
Waste of time, the doctor told me my toe was infected and wasn't worth draining, and that I needed to get an x ray at another place owned by the same parent company. After getting an x ray and this assessment from the doctor here, I went to the ER at the hospital where I learned that the x ray that was recommended wasn't valid or useable by the hospital, and that the doctor at the walk in was wrong and my toe wasn't infected but needed to be drained. The doctor at the walk in was also extremely rude and condescending and I had to wait for 3hrs just to see him. Total waste of time, very rude, and completely useless clinic. Just go to a proper specialist and don't waste your time with these people.
AVOID if seeing Dr Falih Hafuth. I visited as a walk in patient. I have been there about 4 times in total. My first two experiences were good with another doctor there. However my two recent experiences were with Falih Hafuth. On the two occasions, he trivializes my concerns. I stated my concerns and he barely asked me any investigative questions. He reached a conclusion/diagnosis within 1-2 minutes. I looked at his client notes on both occasions and it was 3-5 words. I had a skin concern and I had to inquire about any recommendations. Hafuth stated to use lotion. I inquired further and he just said any lotion. Way too general of a statement. I went to a different clinic and I got a totally different and full diagnosis from what was mentioned by Dr Hafuth for both of my concerns from last two visits. At the other clinic, I visited, notes were made and a variety of questions were asked before reaching a conclusion. Avoid this doctor (Hafuth) if possible. My last visit, Hafuth had a doctor in training shadowing him. I feel sorry for the doctor who was shadowing Dr Hafuth because I feel as though he is not someone to learn from.
This place is a Mickey Mouse operation if I’ve ever seen one. Set up phone appointments with people to not only not call back, but then when patients are upset because it’s affecting their physical health not getting the medications they need, they own no responsibility whatsoever and drop the patient! Go to a clinic where they care!
I had a great doctor. His name was Dr. David W. I can't remember his full last name. He was very professional, excellent bedside manners, and was also mentoring another doctor who I think was Sikh (he wore a turban). Dr. David quickly referred me to the emergency department at Grand River Hospital because the clinic is not equipped to do IV drip. My wait time at the hospital was shorter because Dr. David printed a note that I could take with. My total time at the Benton Clinic was 1 hour, not great but I think it's typical of a walk in clinic. I spent another 3.5 hours at Grand River hospital.
Best clinic in Town.you have to wait, if you don't have an appointment, but I managed to become a patient so I can book one Amazing doctors, all Emergency doctors
Waiting way too long. My appointment was at 3: 40pm and I waited over 40 minutes to see the doctor. Other than that he is good and his staff are excellent.
Clean, welcoming, bright place in the middle of downtown kitchener. Excellent staff, highly professional although very busy place but still wait times are reasonable.excellent doctors, most are emergency doctors.thanks for being there for me and my family
Happy funny doctor with who is wearing a rubber duck.best clinic in town, just don't come here for your oxy, you won't get it lol busy but quick, clean space, bright, and good staff and doctors
Very busy clinic, but clean, staff are highly professional, they actually try hard although people are loud and some are even rude dealing with them. Dealt with different doctors, all Emergency Doctors and Family Doctors, very knowledgeable, Quick and to the point I've been trying to be there patient but it seems it's a long time, it's worth waiting
Had a semi-positive experience my first time going here. Unfortunately the next two not so much. Yesterday I explained my symptoms and that I had been extremely sick for 7 days to the doctor and without checking anything, ears, temperature, blood pressure, etc. He just wrote it off as me having a runny nose and possibly allergies.
Went to a different clinic the next day and it turned out I was right, very sick with infection and needed antibiotics. The doctor there actually seemed to care about helping me. Unfortunately that’s not the case at Benton medical. They don’t take the time to look into your problem to properly help you, they just want you in and out as fast as possible.
I don't mind waiting too long as there is shortage for doctors but not taking walk in patients serious is not acceptable. I went their with my wife because she was feeling sick. After checking her, doctor said that she just have a flue and told her to use Advil but she can totally feel that it's not just flow so we went to another walk in clinic after few hours and doctor said she has sinus infection! And give prescriptions. Please do yourself a favor if you feel that there is Something serious then make sure to get a second opinion.
Do not go to this clinic if you are looking for Doctors with any kind of compassion. After going to the hospital for a heavy bleed while 8 weeks pregnant, I was told to follow up with my GP. I did so - I see Dr. Jaber - and he couldn't even wrap my mind around why I was there. I said that I was concerned about continuing my current work duties as the Doctor at the ER had told me to avoid lifting and that it was possible for the tear in my placenta to worsen if I wasn't careful. He barely let me finish before telling me to "Live my life, if you are going to miscarry we can't stop it. " I expressed I was having other symptoms I was concerned about, which he didn't even reply to, and fought me about getting a medical note. I can't imagine if another woman in my shoes were to take his advice and lose her baby because of this kind of attitude. I'd also like to add that the very first question I was asked at this clinic after telling them I was pregnant was "Are we proceeding with this pregnancy or are we talking about options? " I was horrified. I believe that if a woman were seeking an abortion, she would certainly ask about it.
Thank you! I have been to Benton Clinic few times. The place is new, bright, clean and welcoming. In downtown Kitchener, with free parking and multiple services. They have a dentist on site, Physiotherapy and a Pharmacist. The clinic is like a mini hospital, with family doctors who are Emergency doctors. It's funny, when you are sick, like me, and you go to the hospitals ERs frequently, which I have been to both Grand River and St. Mary's hospitals, going to an Urgent Care Clinic and meeting the same great doctors is very reassuring. I have been to Benton Clinic few times now, I"m trying to be a patient of their family practice as they are accepting patients, but I'm still waiting and I will continue, as I have seen most of the doctors there and they have an amazing set up. I was taken care of so quickly, where I was seen by a kidney specialist, Bone specialist, heart specialist and get all the tests done within less than a month in the same place! I don't why other clinics don't do that but its so helpful to patients with complex medical problems to end up having all his needs in one spot. They can be busy, but I know, from experience that I will be taken care of. I have witnessed how professional staff are dealing with abusive people from downtown kitchener who are seeking narcotics or threatening staff and even other patients in the waiting area.
One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. Staff and doctors are rude and disrespectful, they were lounging around loud and screaming, yelling at each other. They actually never respect how people feel while they’re sick and waiting in there for so long. The clinic smelt like food and I assume they were cooking inside and eating while I was waiting to see the doctor. They’re just so careless and again RUDE The male doctor (Dr. Osama) is the most disrespectful person in there. He was disgustingly joking with the nurse while I’m waiting for him to finish checking on me. They don’t even deserve the 1 star. Note: this review is based on my visit 3 weeks ago but just felt like doing it now after I went to another clinic today and realized the difference in between the 2 clinics.
I have been a patient at Benton medical for quite a while now. I started as a walk-in patient, and after 3 visits I knew this clinic was the best choice for me. The doctors know what they are doing and are very experienced. I am very grateful for my family doctor, as he helped me with a very tough issue.even though my situation was very rare the doctor was still extremely caring and helpful regarding it. I have recommended this clinic to all my friends and family as I believe jt is the best choice for quick patient care in downtown Kitchener.
Like most Canadians, I usually have really negative experiences with doctors. But I've been here twice, once for myself and once for my girlfriend, and both times the service we got from both the front desk and the physicians was excellent. Dr. Dave and Dr. Jaber were both compassionate, personable, thorough, and knowledgeable. In a world where most physicians seem to care more about their billable OHIP hours than their patient care, thank you guys so much for being different. I can't tell you the impact that kind of service has on us as patients.
