My recent visit to BestBuy was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I stepped into the store, the atmosphere was inviting, and the staff were attentive. The customer service representative Mashid, in particular, deserves accolades for her outstanding dedication to meeting my needs.

She went above and beyond the call of duty, demonstrating a level of attentiveness that truly set this experience apart. Whether it was providing detailed information about products, helping me navigate through various options, or patiently addressing my queries, her commitment to ensuring customer satisfaction was evident.   I was looking for a Samsung phone unsure of all the features and Mashid took the time, found the right phone and my buddy listening in, also purchased a phone.   So we purchased 2 Samsung Galaxy phones.

Not only did Nashid possess a profound knowledge of the products, but her friendly demeanor and willingness to assist created a welcoming environment. It's rare to encounter such customer service, and her efforts enhanced my overall shopping experience at BestBuy.

In a retail landscape where exceptional service can be a differentiator, this particular representative stood out as a shining example of what excellent customer service should be. Kudos to BestBuy for fostering a culture that values and prioritizes customer satisfaction, and a heartfelt thank you to the exceptional representative who made my visit truly memorable.

I went in to BB to buy a dishwasher. I was expecting the place to be chaos on Black Friday weekend but it was not. My CSR was so patient and so helpful, he gave me an amazing deal and made the whole thing (which I was dreading doing) a very simple and pleasant experience. His name is Rezwan - Best Buy notice Rezwan and know he is doing a wonderful job selling your products!

Don't go to geek squad here, especially the male service clerk, he will show you his frustrations towards you and asks his coworkers to help instead of him doing his job, it could have taken them 30 mins to help me but it took me well over 3 hrs of loss wages and I had to do everything myself on one of their computers. Will never shop at this best buy even if it's like 5 mins away. Why do you think there rating is so low? Bad service.

Walked in for a ps5. Was told they have none left, and then watched a guy walk out with one while I was in the parking lot. Ended up getting one from Kanata because they keep them by the cash. Merivale is pretty trash.

The cell phone rep sold me the heek squad warrenty plan said i could rma my phone at no cost to me at any point if it was damaged 1 and a half years later i try and make a claim cause the phone doesnt charbe anymore and they wanna charge me 225 dollars acoid there warrenty policy or the store altoghthere go to costco there warrenties are real

Wow. My jaw dropped at the attitude of 2 of 3 employees I interacted with (small appliances and customer service lol) at this store.rude and clipped, no explanation and no concessions. I came in to buy a 400 vacuum, when I asked to open the box to see the wand size because there was no floor model available. The answer was NO.kinda shocked because who wants to buy something they cannot see? I was told I'd have to pay for it first and they return if it wasn't what I wanted! Ha. I bought it cause I was under the gun, but that's my last purchase at this store. Really, management, you can't do better than these clowns?

I went here this afternoon (November 7,2021) with 3 of my other friends. We’re from east Asia and 3 of us have a deeper skin tone. From the moment we walked in, I noticed that some staff were following us. We went all around the store and up until we were at the cashier, they followed us. At first I thought I was overthinking but I brought it up to my friends afterwards and they were thinking the same too. We all had an uncomfortable experience while shopping and something tells me it’s about our appearance since it seemed that we were the only ones being followed. I don’t want to assume that they’re stereotyping us, but I think if all of us felt uncomfortable, it’s something to bring up. Bad Staff.

Sale rep pushed through a purchase for online item "bought in store" without properly showing me the spec's. It was not what I wanted, he was clear on what I was looking for. Returning the shipped item was an incredible hassle, a complete waste of time. I was purchasing one item in store, the second was not available. Sale Rep pushed really hard to have it done in store in the same checkout, assured me it had what I was looking for. I can only imagine it was for commission/sale targets/similar at my extreme inconvenience.

WORST Price Match Policy ever. Wasted my time driving to this BB store to get told there were ''fine prints'' to the policy that AREN'T actually in the policy. Filed a complaint to BB Canada. Will not buy any product from them from now on. They just lost my support.

Slow and terrible service! You could stand there for 30 minutes without getting help. When someone finally came to "help" me, he didn't really do anything. Mandeep has terrible customer service, doesn't seem to care at all and should probably not work in retail if he won't put in the effort to put customers first!

Purchased a new smartphone there recently. We received excellent service from Ilyas (sp?). He explained to us the various plans available with different service providers and explained the differences between the different priced phones. He was very patient with us and answered all our questions. While we were looking he took the time to go to our car and see if the phone would connect to our new car. After we bought the phone he once again went to our car and set up the connection between our car and the phone. All around excellent service and a pleasant shopping experience.

Had a great experience purchasing laptop with Tharshan and Robin. Both extremely competent, easy to communicate with, they were considerate of my budget and really helped me to get the best of what I could afford.

Went in to purchase a laptop for husband find a solution for a hardware issue with my own. The the general staff were all pretty good to work with, but stay FAR away from this location's "Geek Squad". They are completely out of touch with current technology and do not know the difference between hardware and software.

I have the worst experience with this best buy store. I purchased a laptop which did cost 1200 cad. They charged me twice for the same item for no reasons and I called them they had no idea about this incident. I called my bank and they made sure that best buy took money twice from my account for same item. After calling 5 days they transferred my call to credit department and they told they took it twice for no specific reason and told they will put it back within 5-7 business days. The customer care has no idea about anything at all. Worst customer care. I would not recommend this store or best buy to purchase any item. If you want to buy something go directly to store or buy online through other websites. Best buy terrible service.

Good company but they have hired very bad attitude supervisor. I spent a good amount at this store. Even during pandemic I try to stay local. But I guess this was my last time shopping. I went for a web order pick up. As well as saw price adjustment. Which I saw at Staples. Rather than explaining things nicely the supervisor very aggressive tone of voice. Above all when you ask for Store Manager's business card, he doesn't have one. Looks like I was asking for pawn shop owner Lol.

Horrible store. Purchased a product in April and realized the next day that I want to return it but because of lockdown the store was just operating in curbside pickup. The customer service representative told me to wait until the store gets open and then I can return it without any problem. So yesterday I walked in to the store to return my product and the guy over there directly told me that they won’t take it back just because the plastic wrap in which it was covered was missing. I mean seriously, I have my receipt with me and you are talking about this nonsense plastic wrap.
The worst experience ever. I would never suggest someone to shop from here ever.

While the sales rep was helpful and knowledgeable the appliance manager Wahid was NOT helpful at all when we were trying to correct a TERRRIBLE delivery experience that occurred today. The delivery was not completed as per the agreement they were rude and left us in a spot where we couldn’t access i room in our home or open the doors of the new appliances (old ones left in the way). Manager Wahid thought I should take a day off work and lose out on my income so they can send someone else to finish the job. When I said not possible or proper he points to my husband and says “he can do it” NO NO NO don’t charge a customer, do half the job and then make the customers problem to take time off so you can fix when it’s easy for you. I will NOT ever purchase anything from this store because the managers are NOT HELPFUL and clearly customer satisfaction is thrown out the window once they have your money. SHOPPERS BEWARE and head to Home Depot instead for appliances

Wish I could give less than one star! Just left this store.empty handed. Which has been my experience at this location in the past too. This time it was an argument with the check out desk, 3 "managers " about the details of the flyer. I was attempting to purchase an item from their boxing day flyer that said it started on Dec 24 - 31. Check out staff struggled to find the item (which I was able to point out in the locked cupboard behind him) and then the 3 stooges got involved because the price wasnt right in the computer. After much discussion amongst them it was decided that the sale price ($40 discount) didnt apply until midnight on the 25th!
So we left empty handed.again!
I wont step foot in this store ever!

Customer service in Barrhaven Best Buy directed me to Merivale's Best Buy because the item I was looking for in the colour I needed was "in stock" there. I go to the Merivale location and the sales rep indicated there were 6 in stock according to their inventory. He rummaged through a couple of the items in the store front and said there were only grey left and spoke to his manager who said to him, "there's nothing we can do about it, there's nothing left". They didn't even bother to look thoroughly and the manager didn't even bother speak to me himself. Update your website if there's nothing left, and go through everything before saying there's nothing in stock.

I went in yesterday to get a laptop. There was a crazy line and business is not as usual with covid right now. The team including Ahmad was very helpful not just with me but everyone waiting in line. Great job during a time where your jobs have become more difficult due to this pandemic.

I bought a new phone and the guy talked me into signing up for the geek squad plan. He said i pay a monthly fee and if my phone is damaged they would repair it. A few months later the phone's camera stopped working for some reason and best buy is avoiding taking care of it. They keep making things up and I've been transferred to 5 different agents and each would tell me a different story. One also said i have to pay $200 upfront if i want it repaired. The sales guy never disclosed that. It's been 3 months and I keep being shuffled around and promised that a manager would call me and it never happened. Very dishonest people. I'm not letting this go. It's a scam and they depend on people just letting it go. I'm not one of those people.

Not very find of big box stores but the staff here make the difference. Staff are consistently warm and friendly and helpful. One thing that impressed me when I was buying electronics was when the staff member told me he didn't know, then proceeded to go online and let us both dig deeper I to the specs together. I immediately thought "if I had a business, this is how I would want it to run (with a team that was genuine and eager to help).

Out of 8 people that I talked to only one person went above and beyond the Call of Duty to help me it seems that for a lot of employees that work at Best Buy is just a job where they can hang out and socialize today I went in to Best Buy on Millerville I stood around for 10 minutes one person on the floor in the phone section helping people that just walked in completely avoiding me and two people sitting there talking having a conversation like Social Butterflies are you there to work or are you there to sit there and talk, if you want to make friends go to Starbucks on your own time if you want relationships get a room. If it wasn't for that one 2 guys guy who helped me 2 days before they wouldn't get any stars

Reserve and item online and the process was seamless. Received a call when the item was ready and all I had to do was to pick it up at the rear of the store.

I asked the guy that I needed an American product because I thought Best Buy was an American store, and they said no this is a Canadian store.then I told him that's why you don't have anything.because it's Canadian

Bought a PC there a few months ago and had some problems so I brought it in the next day. The floor staff was dismissive and uncaring when they couldn't solve the problem. Management couldn't figure out the issue either and I was told it would cost $60 minimum for Geek Squad to fix it, the day after I bought it! Then, a helpful and exceptionally knowledgeable sales person answered ALL the questions I had and took the time to solve the problem on the spot. His name was Anupam (I hope I have that right), and he should be giving seminars to his co-workers AND superiors in customer service and computer expertise. HUGE thanks to him!

Use 2 days only to install a ssd in my desktop and doesn’t pickup calls in their working hour (8: 09pm). No tracking number on the receipt so I can’t track what is going on on my computer and they never give me an exact time on when will it be done, even it could be easily calculated for the time it’s going to use to install things. Very disappointed on the service of geek squad

Extremely rude staff. When asking a question can be told one thing by staff only to have it contradicted by another. They just want to get the problem solved and you out the door as quickly as possible. When I was buying a macbook air they only had the 128 Gb model in stock so they tried to get me to buy that one instead of helping me order the model I wanted or telling me where it might be available in another bestbuy. They insisted I had to figure that out for myself. When I finally got the macbook from another location there was an issue with it. Merivale location is the closest to where I live so I gave them a call.

They told me they could help on the phone and to come in - that they would either swap it out for another one or help send it to apple for a repair. When I came in they insisted they couldn't help facilitate a repair through apple, and I had to go to bayshore to deal with Apple directly, despite the fact that this was well before the warranty ran out and it was a covered issue. Extremely disappointed with the way staff handled things. When I asked a manager, Ryan, why I was told one thing on the phone and a different thing in the store he said "I don't know, but it doesn't matter. " There was no attempt to stay accountable to information conveyed to me or to help me solve the issue.

Receive exceptional customer service from the moment I walked into the store.
I was greated at the door, I was shown to the section of the store I wanted to go.

Once in the section, I knew what I wanted but one of the sales man was there and after our discussion I ended up purchasing a different sounds bar at a much better price and better quality

This is the best place to buy electronics in canada.
I highly recommend it.

I am an International Student and liked this place on the very first visit.

But sometimes the staff there is so busy they won't provide you help until they sort out the customer, he is handling before you.
Overall it's the best place for purchase of electronics.
I myself purchased a laptop there.

I have an account / membership with Geek Squad - and use the GS counter at the Best Buy store on Merivale Rd, Ottawa.

3 weeks ago I brought my MacBook Pro computer into the GS counter: it would not start under Mac OS - the OS was corrupted.

GS staff did a great job saving my data from the disk drive, installing a new OS System and reloading my disk drive contents.

All was well, except that I could no longer access my data for 3 Mac OS programs: Calendar, Contacts and Mac Mail.

I brought the computer back (this is now 2 weeks ago) with my external drive that contains my Time Machine backups and was told that GS staff would find the missing data on the backup and re-install them onto the guard drive.

10 days later, after I had gone into the store and subsequently phoned to ask where things were at, I again went into the store and was told that the GS staff did not know how to find the data. When I pointed out that a similar issue had been resolved by GS staff at the Merivale store 18 months previously, when my motherboard had to be replaced under extended warranty, the GS staffer simply changed the subject and started explaining how PC computers were different (!). When I asked if they had contacted Apple Tech, I was told “we don’t talk to Apple”.

The following day I took my laptop to the Apple Store in downtown Ottawa. In 40 minutes, in front of me and while serving another client at the same time, a single Apple Tech staffer found and re-installed all three data sets.

Why would I continue to pay for support from Geek Squad when the GS staff is not capable of providing the support. I will cancel my subscription immediately.

BTW: there's nowhere on Best Buy's website where you can submit a written complaint - I wonder why! Try it, you get sent to a phone number.

Visiting Best Buy on Boxing Day was nothing short of an Orwellian post-apocalyptic experience. We joined the massive herd of shoppers who aimlessly wandered toward the flickering blue light of the overhead signage as if the only salvation within miles around was beyond the sliding glass doors of bargain hunting retail ecstasy. Upon our arrival, we were greeted by a sweaty, out-of-breath sales associate who's welcome greeting seemed laced with an assurance that we would probably be okay as long as we moved quickly, kept our elbows tucked in and our heads down. We were there for one purpose only, and that was obviously to acquire the phenomenally priced Canon Rebel SL2 holiday bundle which included a telephoto lens, spare battery, and carry bag; a $1450 value for an astonishing $779.99 (f***in' Boxing week man!). We made our way toward the Camera section, through the surging crowd with a military like haste, avoiding any sudden dangers, such as raging shoppers, oblivious millennials, and the uncontrollable elderly. Upon reaching our desired location with time to spare, we were greeted (surprisingly quickly, considering our surrounding environment shared a similar quality to that of a Burning Man festival) by a young sales associate (appearing as if he just survived a storm) who promptly assisted us in locating our eagerly anticipated purchase. Once detected, the mythical Holiday Bundle Box - now a tangible item within our grasp, seemed to radiate a warm golden glow from the shelf in which it was once perched. Our young sales associate, who by this time, noticed the chaotic yet controlled exodus of consumers shuffling their way toward the fully staffed front line, items in hand, in a gargantuan zombie like mass. He cleverly lead us, under cloak and dagger, to a miracle which came in the form of an empty transaction terminal hidden within the anarchy. He cashed us out, handed over our purchase and executed his role with the renowned dedication I have come to expect from one of the more undoubtedly confusing places a human being can find themselves on a weekday after Christmas. We were then pointed to the nearest exit, receipt in hand, and fled through the same glass doors which sealed our fate, only moments before, with the force of a thousand suns. We looked back only once, and noticed the young man, who's name we never asked, disappear into the human vortex of darkness, never to be seen again. The tale of what transpired would later ricochet throughout the community, and become known to many as the urban legend in which a lowly pair of shoppers, facing insurmountable odds, would vanquish the challenge of braving the retail conglomerate on B-Day. We survived it once, and henceforth we shall return.

Bought a flash drive too.
