So I just went to buy some Nintendo controllers and after decided to buy a pack of batteries.their system crashed at the time of purchase and even though I could show the 25$ interac purchase had gone through on my phone /banking since they had "no record" of it I was not allowed to take the pack of batteries.instead I am to wait to see if the charges get reversed.yeah right.like that will happen.writing the review so there is a record of it.thx

Firstly do not buy General Electric appliances. Absolute junk spend the extra cash for something of quality.

Do not buy appliances from Best Buy. I replaced all my kitchen appliances with GE products, fridge, stove and dish washer. The sales clerk was extremely helpful and accommodating however within 6 months all my GE appliances were falling apart.

After calling Best Buy they told me I would have to speak w GE and round and round we go. Nobody taking responsibility for the repairs or warranties. It’s been a nightmare and I am left with 8k worth of junk appliances that are just rotting away.

Handles coming loose, dishwasher door broke causing the door to free fall when opening and worst of all the gas stove now will not get out of ignition mode causing me to turn off the gas line and unplug the stove.

Firstly do not buy General Electric appliances. Second please consider the warranty and perhaps you will have a better experience then myself.

During this pandemic there has been too many choices for business owners as they adhere to the lockdown requirements default to I’m sorry but I can’t help you or find solutions. I walked up to this location today terrified that my problem couldn’t be resolved due to lockdown restrictions and that I would face the former of those two options. Mohsen the manager at this location is truly an exceptional employee and human being who went above and beyond to assist me as best he could with my issue.

A big thank you to both him and his team are continuing to serve clients as best they can

It’s a disaster and nobody cares. I was going to buy a camera but was explained by a shop assistant that
all DSLR cameras are sold unpacked and in a single item in the
store. OK, I decided to take another one, PowerShot, it was on display. I was explained
already by the manager that the camera I wanted to buy is only a fake, I need to order to get a real one. I really wanted to get a solution but got problems. I addressed to Customer help and got the same useless answer. Don’t use Best Buy. It’s a “fake” (their words).

This message is for the managers of Best Buy. Why is the pickup area in the back corner of the store? People who do pick up specifically do pick up in order to not go inside the store. How does this make sense?

Other than that the employees were really friendly and quick to serve.

If anyone need appliances, please visit this store and meet with Joan (or communicate via email). We first met Joan when visiting the store for the first time in Oct 2020 and then reached out to her in Dec.to finalize our appliances for our first house purchase. Joan was so patient with us, walked us through all the features of each appliance that we wanted, and negotiated a great package for us that fit all our needs. We used to shop at other locations in the past and were offered products by other competitors as well but we chose to go with Joan because she really earned our trust (she spent time with us explaining all the products even when we were just visiting to gather information without making a purchase at that time). She is by far the most customer-friendly associate I have interacted with in all of Best Buy and competitor stores. It is very rare to find such dedicated employees and I think they should be recognized. She made our buying process so easy and smooth with no stress.

Black friday pick up order got canceled by no reason. I was waiting the email at home whole day. I found it was canceled this morning. Yes, even no email for a cancellation. And the monitor is out of stock anywhere. Great job.

WARRANTIES ARE A SCAM! Especially on TVs.

I worked at this location for a couple years, as a FT Employee in Home Solutions.

IF YOU BUY A TV WARRANTY AND THEY OFFER YOU A DISCOUNT ON THE WARRANTY, ASK QUESTIONS!

Here is what happens:

1. Associate offers discount on warranty

2. Warranty price is deducted from the TV itself.

3. If EVER A WARRANTY CLAIM IS MADE, THEY REIMBURSE THE DISCOUNTED VALUE OF THE TV, NOT THE SALE PRICE

4. YOU ARE NOT ACTUALLY GETTING A DISCOUNT ON THE WARRANTY

5. YOU ARE LED TO BELIEVE THAT IF YOU NEED TO MAKE A CLAIM THE VALUE OF TV WILL BE REIMBURSED.

6. NOT THE CASE

*AT TIMES I WAS GIVEN APPROVAL TO DISCOUNT WARRANTIES UPWARDS OF 75%.

In this case, A MASSIVE DEDUCTION IS MADE ON THE PRODUCT to account for the WARRANTY DISCOUNT. THE DISCOUNTED VALUE THEY HAVE ON YOUR RECEIPT IS WHAT YOU WILL GET IF YOU EVER MAKE A WARRANTY CLAIM.

Let’s talk Warranties!

I worked at this location for a couple years, first as a seasonal and then FT employee.

I worked in home theatre.

IF YOU BUY A WARRANTY AND THEY OFFER YOU A DISCOUNTED WARRANTY,

THEY TAKE IT OFF THE PRODUCT PRICE.

Why?

IF YOU EVER MAKE A WARRANTY CLAIM THEY REIMBURSE YOU THE DISCOUNTED VALUE OF THE PRODUCT (after they take the warranty discount off).

Expensive warranty claims mean less money given back to the customer!

I was even allowed to give warranties away for free or almost 99% off! Because I was allowed to take it off the value of the TV!

Returning anything is impossible. A line of people has been waiting outside for 40 minutes and hasn’t moved at all. Would avoid this place if possible.

It is what it is. Recently under construction and kind of a mess, but should shape up soon. EDIT: Shaped up and new redesign looks great. CSRs are very nice and not pushy at all (also not on commission). Very knowledgeable about their particular product areas.

Great electronics store. So many TVs and phones. It’s a tech geeks dream. This place is the best tech store that I’ve been to. The construction was pretty chaotic, I’ll give it that, but the store has skyrocketed since then. I go here whenever I need a new electronic, and the placement of this is perfect. I love this place. ️️️️

Purchased a Sony TV, was up sold on their extended warranty at which point I was misled in regards to the coverage's. Needless, to say I now have a New TV that does not work, the manufacturer will not fix, and Bestbuy will not own up to the extended warranty that I was told covers accidental damage coverage. I still recall the exact manner that the sales rep sold it to me.shame on their sales tactics

Best buy is a good place to source electronics and more for your home. Service is always great and there are no problems with returns and best buy is everywhere.

Though they aren't on commission, it can sometimes be hard to find someone to help you out.

I went there to buy a 75 inch TV for the kids. The salesman and his manager did the full court press to get me to pay for an extended warranty. The price for 4 years started at 500 bucks and the manager begged me to take it for $100 which I turned down. His tactic was then to tell me he cannot give me my preferred delivery date which was 8 days away. I laughed at their tactics to squeeze me for this warranty coverage. It reminded me why Future Shop went bust. I went in with the intention of spending more than 4K for a TV and a sound bar. Given their pressure tactics, I just left. They told me the electronics dealer a minute away would not make a deal and not meet my delivery date. Needless to say, about a half hour later I bought the TV I wanted and the new
sound bar was in my car. Best Buy is a good place to window shop but go elsewhere to do the actual buying. LOL, what a bunch of fools.

Thanks Geek Squad for your service. I was having some issues with both my Mac and Apple TV. I went to Best Buy in Leaside which I thought might be a nightmare on Boxing Day. I was nervous about leaving my Mac as it's a necessity for my real estate business. I was able to easily exchange my Apple TV for a new one, and I dropped my Mac off for repair. Within hours, I was called that the problem with my Mac had been solved Yay! I dealt with three different staff and all were kind and helpful.

This current visit was great. I dealt with customer service. But don't buy a computer or try to deal with their in-house Geek Squad. They have been nothing but condescending to me and my brand new laptop is still having issues. I've brought it in 3 times already to be fixed.

Very updated, every company has its own shelf with multiple products on it.ex. You can test any headphone they have in stock, to check if you like the sound quality. Just press play and shuffle through songs.

Aric at the Best Buy on Laird is amazing. He was accommodating, genuine, knowledgeable and a great conversationalist. He made the experience I had today, and I would recommend him over any other blue shirt in the building - though I'm sure they're all nice, too!

When did Best Buy become half appliances? Not easy to find your way around in this store. Bare shelves in the gaming section when the website says the store has the item in stock. I went to return something and even with only two people ahead of me it was a good twenty minutes. It was an item purchased on my wife's credit card but to my surprise they offered to put the refund on my credit card - maybe they should be educated on the risks of fraud. Staff also seemed indifferent and stressed.

The store looks great and inviting. Can't really say the same about the customer service and attention. We went in to purchase a washer and had to wait 30mins for one sales Rep. It's unfortunate because we were ready to buy but had to walk out. Moments like this would prove helpful for the team and store if more trained staff could help and be of service. So instead we made the purchase with Canada Appliances over the phone in the parking lot. And we're given $100 discount once sharing our displeasure with the service at Best Buy. We're so happy with our purchase. Moral of the story: Don't settle for bad service. Time is money.

Was just in there and wasted 30 minutes. Picked up a Air fryer $120 / DVD movies $40

Wanted to get a IPad Pro and waited 20 minutes for a customer rep to show. Was pages by the security at front door. Finally laid everything on IPad counter and said sorry pal have to go. His response: I don’t blame you!

I can only hope someday I make enough money to just let a $1000 dollars walk out the front like it was nothing. Customer service a “0”

Tried calling store after leaving - tried 5 times - no one answers the phone either.

Scammers. No Doubt about it.

Purchased 2 28"TVs ($300 each) with a warranty ($79.99) on June 6 2016 and hired geek squad to install them. They messed up EVERYTHING with this and didn't get it done. I went to the store on June 22 2016 to complain and they apologized and upgraded me to 2 48" TVs. Little did I know, they swapped the warranty from Geek squad protection ($79.99 one time fee) to Geek squad protection total ($39.99 monthly fee for 4 years).

The discount they gave me was in bad faith as they changed the protection plan without notifying me or asking for my permission. There is no way a reasonable person would agree to pay $40 a month for 4 years locked in on a $300 TV. Unfortunately, due to my own negligence I didn't notice these recurring fees until this month in 2018. At the end of the day they received $2000 back on two $300 TVS. Shame on best buy and shame on the salesman.
