After searching for a dim sum spot on a Sunday in Sauga, we found this place after trying two others first. The customer service over the phone was friendly and prompt so we beelined here and and got a table right away.
We were excited to have dim sum but this spot might not be known for it as there weren’t line ups like the other locations. The food was unfortunately underwhelming. It wasn’t seasoned and it was greasy. Luckily, they provide a variety of sauces, red vinegar, salt and white pepper. We had to season the congee, add salt to the beans, and use a bit more hot sauce than typically. Afterwards, it was a lot better but still, not my top choices for dim sum. To note, the green beans were our favorite after adding more salt and the spare ribs tasted good.
The staff was great, prompt and accurate. I just wish the food was better. Who knows, they could be known for standard Chinese food dishes over dim sum.
Consistently good always. Lunch specials are available 7 days a week & most priced at $12.99, incredible value! The best Hot & Sour soup on the planet - period! I've been eating here, every week, for 17 years!
Amazing chinese food! The coconut chicken hot pot was much better than some in Scarborough! Chicken was well marianated and juicy all the time while they were cooking in the soup for a while. It is definitely a great place to spend with families and friends on a rainy day and cold weather. Also the slow cooked beef rib with bone is my absolutely favorite! I was amazed by the quality and the portion of this dish! The beef was super tender, well cooked and not chewy at all! It is definitely not a common dish you could find from an authentic Chinese restaurant with French/ Italian style. Red bean pan fried pancakes were also crunchy and not too sweet! Wonderful dessert with matcha ice cream! Will definitely visit again with families and love ones.
So disappointed.came for lunch on weekdays.ordered 3 dishes.none of them were ok.salty egg with shrimp is not cooked fully. Shanghai noodle tasty bitter and over cooked.after waiting 40 mins, Beijing duck was served.the skin of duck already dry out (look black) has bad smell which definitely goes bad.had a bad stomach in half an hour.do not recommend!
Best Friend Chinese Restaurant in Mississauga is a gem! The food is incredibly delicious, and the staff is super friendly. Don't miss out – highly recommended!
We stopped going to this restaurant quite a while ago because of the bad service. Decided to give it one more try, the restaurant wasn't very busy for a Saturday afternoon but we waited almost 45' to get our 3 dim sum items. Another half an hour (we already finished our dim sum) and our other 2 items for lunch were not served yet. We had to cancel our order & leave, the service is bad & all the lady at the counter said was "sorry". Guests at table nearby had the same problem and were upset too. They gave me a sign of agreement when we left & said "we'll never go back here ever again". The price is expensive (6.99 + tax for each item), the portion is small (for shrimp ha cao they use chopped small pieces of shrimp- while other restaurants serve whole shrimps). I will never come here and don't recommend it.
Good and tasty food, very flavourful and good sizes lates, fast service. It’s good that they have some pictures on the menu, makes it easy to chose a dish. Would come there again and recommend to friends.
Ordered take-out from this restaurant for our office lunch yesterday. My colleagues praised all the dishes we had. They were fresh, flavourful and top quality. This was my first taste of Cantonese food in Canada from 20 years ago, and their dishes are still my top favourites until now.
Service was okay we had to call the waitress over bc we were ready to place our order and they never came over to ask us at all. As well even though the food was good it came to the table cold and they never offered us any water either. Not sure I’d go back here
Terrible service. Waited almost two hours for 3 dishes. One of the dishes was a bowl of green vegetables, and it was the last time to come out. How does it take that long to prepare food? On top of that, the food was horrendous, so the wait was not even worth it. The best part, we even had to wait an additional few minutes for the machine to pay.
The food is fast and fresh. Excellent portions and reasonably priced. I was here when that guy Allen M (posted Aug 27th 2022) caused a huge scene. He wanted water yes, and the server offered him bottled water but being the rude inpatient man that he was, just lost it on this poor woman who was having a hard time understanding what he wanted. He didn’t want to pay for water and insisted on “ice water”. His friend and I assume his wife were so embarrassed by his behaviour. He yelled at his wife to get up cause they were going. He stormed off with the baby carriage didn’t wait for his family, and left his wife to carry the baby alone. I was so ashamed for her. He was a jerk. I could tell he was a jerk before that ‘Karen’ outburst he had by the way he was stuffing his face and not helping his wife feed the baby. She could barely eat as she was taking care of their child. He looked like he could care less if she ate or not. Plus, if you look at most of his reviews he’s not very happy about any service he gets. I think he is the problem, he’s just a miserable old man.
Try the soy sauce chicken. Meat on bone chicken, marinated with dark sweet soy. Topped with freshly hand made green onion, ginger garnish (Gern Yong). One of the best restaurants around this area. Great value.
The restaurant looks outdated but don't let that fool you. The food was very good. I recommend the Japanese wagyu fried rice, efu noodles, sizzling beef plate, sweet/sour chicken. The waitress was extremely busy so service was subpar but the quality was there in the food. They were using disposal bowls and cups but the sauce was tasty, chicken crispy, and vegetables were cooked just right (not soggy). The place could use a reno but the food was delicious so I'll come back when I'm in the area again
