Best Western Fireside Inn

Stayed a Sunday night. Room was very quiet, clean and comfortable. Close to train station and our meeting. A perfect place to stay.

Stayed over Christmas so myself and my fiance could enjoy the holidays with our families - and I was completely blown away! Everything was impeccably clean and gorgeous (in an old fashioned/rustic way), the breakfast buffet was incredible (so flavourful, and with amazing attention to detail), and the service staff were equally amazing. We've stayed in far more expensive establishments, but none have the level of consistent quality this place has!

We will be back. Guaranteed.

We - spouse, son, and myself - got the space-themed "fantasy suite" room and it was AMAZING! It was huge, very clean (despite the staff having to clean rocky-looking surfaces), and quiet. The staff were friendly but they really didn't want us to get that room. They said it is 2 persons only and there will be no extra bedding provided, no cot can fit in there, and the couch doesn't become a bed. I brought an air mattress so our son could sleep in the pod. This room is meant as a honeymoon suite only. This policy is just stupid! They are sitting on a gold mine with this room and yet they seem like they don't want people using it. All they have to do is change the couch! They could do more (oh, so many ideas!) but, seriously, just change the couch to one that becomes a bed. They have such couches in nearly every other room of the hotel; this isn't hard people! I would recommend this room to everyone who has a kid, it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, but not in the way they currently market it. I know of only 3 equivalent hotel rooms in the world, in the WORLD! These people could be making so much money. Brilliant and stupid at the same time.

Customer service was not great. The gentleman at the front made it sound like I was disturbing his day and he did not want to work there.

The place is very outdated but clean.

Room was very outdated, the smell was not pleasant and takes awhile to get used to.

Breakfast was ok. There was no service. I saw 1 lady 1 time but other than that you could hear them just talking about their day but never came out to help.

For 260$ for 1 night it was very disappointing. I have to go every month and will be booking somewhere else.

We stayed in the tranquility base suite last night, and it was lots of fun. Was it worth the crazy amount of money? Not quite. Jacuzzi, awesome. Spaceship, awesome. But the tv situation wasn't great. There are no channels and the equipment is quite old so you can't stream anything from your phone, or even bring a fire stick or similar. The room itself is big so it echos and we would have liked to have some background noise like music but nothing like that was available on the TV. If you're planning to stay in this suite, maybe bring something to play music on. The fireplace needs to be repaired. We're locals so we book these rooms for fun, but since the price has skyrocketed and the suites are starting to show their age, we'll wait until they're updated before our next visit. Maybe you could re-do the northern lights suite first lol. Maybe paint a night sky with northern lights and have the cool lighting for it? Put the bed in a yurt hehe. And if you redo the hot air balloon one at some point, I bet you could easily switch it to something medieval with a castle or something? Or lord of the rings or Harry Potter inspired? We really want to come back!

I wanted to book a fantasy suite, I asked at front desk if I could view the rooms before I made my selection. I was refused and told that is not allowed. I don't mind paying a premium fee but I like to see what I am buying.

Merveilleux hotel style chalet à l entrée de Kingston. Personnels très sympa. Check in et Check out très rapide. La chambre était spacieuse et très fonctionnel. Le parking est sur, pas trop de risques de vandalisme.

We went with the standard king size bed and the room comes with a fire a nice view of the swimming pool, the bed was very comfortable slept very well the hotel as they’ve put cedar on the outside and the inside is tastefully decorated it feels more like your in a mountain lodge than anything else great idea.
We didn’t eat at the restaurant the night before just went down for the buffet breakfast which was really good friendly staff all in all a great experience will look forward to going back.

I had unpleasant experiences when checking in and checking out. When I checked in, I asked if it were possible to have two beds instead of a single bed because my mother was accompanying me last minute. The staff member made a point of saying that because I booked through Expedia she couldn't change it. Then she said, well, even she wanted to, there weren't any available. Then she had me sign a paper and then initial that I had no pets. I told her that I did have a pet-that was why I chose the Best Western, because online it said it was pet friendly. She said it was no longer pet friendly-that it changed 6 months ago. I said that I had checked off "pet friendly" on the search engine and BW came up. She said, "Well, when I looked at the site, it wasn't here, but I don't want to argue with you. " Then she said she'd "make an exception" and charge me $30 for the pet fee, then gave me a pet waiver and then said that she was moving me to the first floor room because it was pet friendly. Very confused.
That night I went online to subscribe to BW Rewards. When I was checking out a different staff member informed me that she could not add my number to the account because I had booked through Expedia. She then LECTURED me about how that was the point of a loyalty program-that I book through the site. I have two sons at Queen's and travel to Kingston often. I like to bring our small dog because my youngest son misses her. I won't be staying at the Best Western Fireside Lodge again.

Nice place located not too far off of the 401. It was a quiet location which offers a good breakfast.

You can really relax and get comfortable here. Chain hotels usually feel a little bland and institutional, even if everything is satisfactory - not so, here. Really nice, clean, cozy little rooms that try to evoke a bit of cabin aesthetic that goes a long way in helping you to feel comfortable and really relax after a long day. Nice complimentary breakfast included as well. Special mention needs to be made of the hotel restaurant “Tom’s Place”. Good quality comfort food and pub fare with a great cabin atmosphere, complete with open fireplaces. Loads of character in the decor. Nice local “on tap” beer selections (Barking Squirrel). Would recommend to anyone. If it’s a work-related stay, you won’t find a better place.

Everything was ok but the bed was terrible. My back hurt most of the night it just wasnt comfortable at all. Hard as a rock. Breakfast was a nice treat but by 9.30an food was dried out n not very edible. It's made at 6.30am n thats it. Staff was nice.

Nice cozy king room with a cottage feel and electric fireplace. Interested in checking out the fantasy rooms (which can be booked only by contacting the hotel). Only complaint was the mattress was a little worn down.
