Best Western Plus Fergus Hotel

Got stopped in Fergus with a snowstorm just after midnight, needed a place to stay. Can't believe the rate being charged - $209. Got some discount, but nowhere worth the price. Rooms are very plain, decor is really bland and tired. Room was little more than 2 beds and a small desk. If we weren't stuck with whiteout conditions on the road, would not have stayed here. Won't stay again if we can avoid it.
Front desk staff were friendly and pleasant, but the hotel is tired, old, outdated and overpriced.

My rating is based on their charge of 500 Canadian dollars per night on 30th and 31st December 2023.3 Rooms over 2 days costing 3000 dollars.
The accommodation was a rip-off. All upmarket places were full as I decided late to travel. It's not worth a penny more than 150 a night.

I felt the need to write a review after our recent two night stay at the Best Western Plus in Fergus, ON. Unfortunately our experience was not up to our standards. Upon checking in we were greeted by a very unfriendly staff member who barely gave us eye-contact - which I feel set the tone for our stay. Our room was clean but the mattresses on both of our beds have seen better days and were sinking drastically when we slept. In fact as soon as we sat on the bed the mattresses sank. The bathroom was a whole other experience. The toilet seat was not secured to the toilet properly causing it to slide around when you sat down, and the shower had little water pressure. Most of the water flowed out of the facet and into the tub instead of coming through the shower head. It was difficult to adjust the temperature in our hotel room as no matter what we did it was either too hot or too cold making the room uncomfortable. The staff came into our room to change towels and make beds but left dirty towels in the bathroom along with clean ones and only made one of our beds, which I found odd. On an up-note, the breakfast that was included in the price of the hotel room had a nice variety of items to choose from and the staff overseeing the breakfast area was welcoming. Overall from this experience I would not recommend this hotel at this time and I would look for other accommodations if I had to stay in and around Fergus again.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Best Western Hotel, and I can't say enough about the positive experience. From the moment I entered the lobby, I was greeted with a warm and friendly atmosphere. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and the staff was always ready to assist with a smile.

The room was well-appointed, impeccably clean, and offered all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The attention to detail, from the quality of the bedding to the thoughtful toiletries, was evident. The complimentary breakfast was a delightful start to my day, and the options catered to a range of tastes.

What truly made my stay outstanding was the level of service. The staff was not only professional but genuinely caring, going the extra mile to ensure I had a memorable stay. The Best Western Hotel's central location was a bonus, allowing me to easily explore the city and access local attractions.

I can confidently say that the Best Western Hotel provides a top-notch experience with a personal touch, and I look forward to returning on my next visit.

The service was amazing. We came for two nights and the staff was very respectful and considerate. Rooms were clean and tidy. Will definitely come back!:)

The worst customer service, don’t ever stay here.
I had booked my room earlier but tried to add additional rooms to my brother’s wedding group, and after 2 1/2hours over the course of 10 days, the rooms were never booked.
After finally speaking to the hotel (as they do not often actually answer their phone), I was frustrated with the experience. I did not swear and I did not raise my voice, but told them that their service was horrible. I asked for my concerns to be escalated to the GM and, within 30 minutes, I had received an email from the GM advising me that my reservation has been cancelled because I “misbehaved”.
I work in the travel industry and will be escalating this to Best Western leadership this week, as I was afraid to escalate prior to the wedding in case they decided to cancel all of the rooms associate with the wedding.
Avoid this hotel at all costs! Their staff is incompetent and unhelpful. They take no accountability for their poor service.

The Best Western Plus in Fergus was the group hotel for guests of my sister’s wedding. Honestly was afraid to write this review before the wedding was over for fear of them lashing out and cancelling all reservations as part of the hotel. So many issues with the customer service…sister of the bride tried to book a room for her father and never got a confirmation. She called in to ask why she hadn’t gotten a confirmation and they said they had no record of the booking, and eventually she ended up getting an email that BOTH rooms were cancelled due to “misbehaving”. Absolutely insane. They would never answer the phone when we would try to call them to confirm details like how late people could check-in, etc.we would leave voicemails with no response. When guests asked to leave their bags at the front desk since their room wasn’t ready yet, the front desk was charging $20/hour to hold bags. Never in my life have I heard of a hotel charging to hold bags, let alone $20/hour! My sister (the bride) wanted to call on behalf of her guests to talk about all of these problems, but after they cancelled the groom’s sister’s and father’s rooms for “misbehaving”, she was so scared to call in because she thought the hotel would cancel more rooms and leave more people stranded. Never again will our group or family stay at or recommend the Best Western Plus in Fergus - AVOID AT ALL COSTS! You will regret it.

We stayed here for a wedding we had in Elora. Our room was on the main floor. I was discussed and ready to go home at 1am after we spotted a few mouse droppings in the bathroom and bedroom. I told staff at checkout and they didn’t say anything. As if they didn’t care. Gross!

Ordered a King Suite as part of a wedding group. Unfortunately my reservation was downgraded a couple months after ordering without a phone call explaining why. A bit surprising when I showed up but it really wasn't a big deal.
The room itself smelt like marijuana when we walked in. The room was big and clean. Finishes were decent.
The hotel was ok for a short stay, its not a looker from the outside but it does have plenty of amenities, spa, gym, breakfast, etc.

Review from my companion: It was just okay. The staff were kind but all the amenities were just average. Our room came half stocked with tissues, barely any shampoo and body wash (which were in difficult to use containers), and lacked toothbrushes. Not the biggest issue but it was surprising. A fight also happened between some guests in the middle of the night and the police came. I wish the staff would've at least reassured guests the next morning because basically the entire second floor was woken up by that. The free breakfast has a good waffle maker though.

Everything was great about the hotel. Staff very helpful and friendly. They would go above and beyond.
Breakfast had a large variety of choices. Eggs, bacon, potatoes. Coffee station with 6-8 different options. 4 types of cereal, hot waffles, I think 6 different types of bread options. Yogurt and finally a place that has almond milk.
The spa catered to my last minute needs. Front desk so very friendly. Even helped me carry breakfast back to room because I was getting some for my husband as well. Near allot of amenities.

Perfectly fine hotel for a quick stay. Fitness center, business center, spa, and breakfast (with a pool coming soon) were available. Not located in the best spot along a busy road but walkable to groceries and restaurants while being near a few parks as well. Service was excellent and everyone was super helpful. TV in my room was very slow to operate and the mini fridge wasn't working for my leftovers but these are minor complaints in an otherwise great stay.
