Classic old building that holds the CNE show. They have many vendors and shops each Summer to explore and see. The building definitely needs an upgrade to be more modernized
Avoid this place like the plauge. It's 40 percent CAMH overflow 40 percent junkie hangout and the last 20 percent are people who aren't going to get a minute of sleep
Shame, it has now become a homeless shelter to help those most in need. But the quality and type of clientele have really run down and just trashed this area and its chic upper-middle class style. Besides the daily ambulance calls and routine police patrols, a lot seems to get by.
I worked there for one day in the shelter, and it was very good job experience but very hard I really feel bad for people being homeless the city of Toronto and premier of Ontario needs to do more for housing and people on ow and odsp
During the CNE this place is transformed into "The Farm". No, it's not a euphemism for CIA agent training. Not a ton here unless you're into horticulture or farming (big and garden).
They basically just have farm animals and animal shows here during the Ex, which is great because you can relax compared to the Ex which is hectic. The building also hosts other events during the year but I haven't been to them yet.
Good place to come see an exhibition or show. I've been here for the boat show and the Ex. Always lots to see and do. Food is always overpriced though!
We were at the CNE on Aug 27 (Tue), the weather was overcast and rained for a bit but cleared just enough for us to enjoy all the rides without lines, multiple times. Have all the tables to ourselves at the food building and get extra servings when we bought snacks. We felt like VIPs, like they'd closed the park us. Best day at the EX ever!
Exhibition Place have brought in temporary workers to do Torontonian's jobs at this venue. Exhibition Place locked out all of it's skilled live entertainment technicians on July 20th. The people working those jobs now (scabbing) are being paid a reduced wage, and Exhibition Place wants to be able to ultimately permanently contract out all of the jobs on the grounds to the lowest bidder and reduce the wages it pays. Those who have been locked out are precarious employees already, without any guaranteed work or hours, only brought in on an as-needed basis. Boycott this venue, respect the workers on the picket line and please, don't support this race to the bottom.
