Betz pool designed and built the inground indoor pool and hot tub for us. All went as planned and Ryan has been very helpful in coordinating the design, construction, and maintenance. Two thumbs up for his team and him!

Horrible company! My parents started the pool with Betz Pools when I was 12, I’m now 16. We have a hole in our backyard and they disappeared with A LOT of my parents money.

We purchased our spa from Betz Pools almost five years ago and they have been a pleasure to work with over the years. Connie is always so responsive and helpful with anything we need to order or address with our spa. I would highly recommend Betz Pools!

Never worked with this company but twice now I've been tailgated by a white pick up truck with their sign on it. Said truck also flies down the school zone at 70-80km, swerving and tailgating other cars. Don't work with these people, clearly their workers have anger issues and need to go to therapy for road rage.

I have been waiting to get an estimate since February 2021. Finally, after several phone calls, I received it on July 26. Shortly after, I contacted Ryan for a meeting to review everything and get a date for the start of the project but he never showed up.
This is definitely not a good start and nevertheless, it is not something that will make anyone confident to start a project with Betz Pools. I am disappointed beyond words.

Betz Pools designed and built my exterior landscaping including a pool, hot tub, extensive landscaping and fire feature. I am writing this review completely unsolicited because they are truly an exceptional company and others should know about them and hire them. The minute I met Marc Luff, who is one of the best sales people I have ever met, I knew this was the right company for my custom home build project. He was straight forward and to the point. No BS. He was transparent about pricing and delivered even during a global pandemic. After the intial design phase and during construction, the Betz foreman, Justin English was always available to me and still is for any issues that I have experienced. Betz is a first rate pool company and I recommend them to anyone who asks me whom to use. Anyone looking for any sort of pool construction or landscaping should consult them without hesitation.

We hired Betz in the fall of 2019 for our concrete pool renovation (Marbelite finish, new waterline tiles, new coping, new interlock stones on the deck, new plumbing). To make a very long story short, the work is still not finished as to how they guaranteed. It is now spring 2021. There are multiple issues with the Marbelite.

A crew came out after the Marbelite was applied, admitted there were problems and said they would be fixed in the spring. Twice, crews came out in the spring of 2020, to try and rectify the issues-to no avail. We attempted to contact Ryan, the sales person, multiple times throughout the summer to address our concerns. Ryan was extremely difficult to contact. He didn't return emails, texts or phone calls. Finally at the end of September 2020 Ryan, Frank (President) and another man came out to look at our pool. They agreed things weren't right and stated that the issues would be rectified in the spring of 2021. They said our pool would be drained in April and the problems finally fixed.

It is now April. We hope to hear from them soon. We sent an email a week ago, and have yet to hear back. Once the Marbelite is fixed, our pool and deck will be beautiful! But for now we are not happy. I will post again in a month with an update and pictures (hopefully of the finished job).
I am hopeful that Betz is taking their commitment to customer service seriously. They pride themselves on "having the industries most worry free guarantee". Let's hope they stand up to their word.

The app's prompt to leave a rеview got me thinking: hmm, I'm going to wait and see for the final result before i can comment fully.but so far, while in the thickness of the project, we feel lucky to have had secured Betz last August. That's how far in advance you want to book your pool remodel. Planning is everything these days ;)

We tried to hired Betz because we wanted to add a pool and hot tub to our property. We spoke with Ryan who did not seem very interested in getting our business. He was extremely hard to get a hold of. Did not reply to emails or return calls in a timely manner and would only occasionally respond to text messages. When he came both times for our consultation he did not really listen to what we wanted or take any notes. He did not answer all our questions. When it came time for a concept drawing none of the stuff we wanted or talked about was in the picture. We had to go back and forth several times to come up with something we were happy with. This process could have been much faster if Ryan had listened to what we wanted or taken any notes. When we received our quote for the job it was almost $100,000.00 more then the budgeted amount. After getting the quote we never heard from Ryan or Betz again. They never followed up to see of we had any questions or wanted to make any changes or even if we wanted to book them. It has been almost a month since the quote and still nothing. We decided to go with another company and just put down a deposit with Creatove Pools and Spas. The owner was much more responsive, paid attention to what we wanted and worked with us on the quote to keep it in our budget. I am very dissipointed in Betz. I was under the impression they were one of the larger and more reputable pool companies. But now it seems like they were only interested in getting our $2000 for some low quality concept drawings. Buyer beware. Most other pool companies do the concept drawing for half the price or deduct the price from your quote if you agree to get the pool.

Just to follow up. It was about 6 weeks later when the sales guys I was dealing with Ryan bothered to get back to me. He called me and didn't bother leaving a message and then a few days later texted me to ask if I had any questions about the quote. Horrible customer service. The other company I chose already got my permits and ordered the supplies for my pool build in the spring befefore betz even bothered following up on the quote the basically charged me $2000 for.

I contacted Betz pools to do a 100-150k job and their Sales guy Ryan won’t even send me a quote or answer a message. I understand you’re busy but I will tell all my friends who are looking to buy pools to avoid this company. This is during the sales process imagine how bad they will be after they get your money

Poor workmanship. Very unhappy about service Dept that could not provide consistent care resulting in permanent damage to valve system. Would love to speak directly to Marvin Betz, the owner directly to discuss.

Incredible! My comments were made 4 years ago and i had simply asked to speak to your owner, a couple of points need to be raised here.

1. It took you one year to respond. Is that an acceptable time for a company to respond?

2. You may want to blame the original pool builder as i think it is always a good scapegoat but you are missing the point entirely and actually proving that your service department was incapable of serving my pool. Let me tell you why. The issue was that i had requested that it would be a good idea if you, Matt would be able to send one consistent team since it was acknowledged by me when i started using your company that the original plumbing design is complicated. At that time you never indicated that it would be a problem. In fact you promised that your company was up for the challenge.

3. I as a consumer trusted you with that statement and tried to work with you. Each season however you sent different teams who did not know what exactly needed to be done as they always kept stating this was the first time they have been to the property. It basically highlighted your false promises that you could provide a consistent team and that your company was up for the job.

4. Lets discuss exactly why i wanted to speak with Mr. Betz. On opening of the pool 4 years ago, your initial team left the valve open in the pool at the automatic filler (which was acknowledged from the outset of using your services to be in inoperable and was supposed to have in fact been a separate work order that your company never got to as i assume it was not a big enough job). This minor oversight resulted in the pool essentially having a leak. It took 2 or 3 visits by your teams which were all different to find the problem but no avail and i was given a name for a company that specialized in pool leaks. That alone i found odd. You are a full service pool company and yet don't have this as a service. None of your pools leak? So to get the person to come, he wanted an upfront payment of $800.00. Having no choice, we paid it and he came with his red dye. Within 15 minutes found that all the dye was going out of the pool at the valve that had been left open by your incompetent team under your direction and all the remaining incompetent teams under your direction who could not even find this simple issue. I sir, was out $800 plus taxes.

Another major issue, i spent considerable dollars ordering a pool cover that was advertised as being one of the strongest in the market. It was tailored for our pool due to the unique design and after one use, found to be torn at the seams. Rather then being covered, you and the manufacturer of the pool cover buggered off and charged me several hundred dollars for the repair.

Why am i responding now to events that took place 4 years ago?

1. You should have simply responded within a reasonable time frame so we could have dealt with my legitimate issues and express my thoughts to the owner. Simply responding a year later is a shame!

2. Incompetency is very clear

3. Since having left your company, i engaged another pool company which has been taking care of our "substandard $400,000 pool" oh by the way, every person who has ever stepped foot on the property finds this pool stunning! Also, the new company was engaged to re plumb the "complicated" system. I gladly paid once i had built up enough trust with them. Have never looked back.

4. I just happened to be scrolling through my reviews and i do have quite a few and happen to find that wow you did your homework and responded! WOW, but a year later. You may have thought that it would perhaps be under the radar and it looks like you did respond. Do you really think that consumers are that incompetent like your teams that they can not see through your response that was 1 year late?

Betz pools do not need your business. When I called Betz to quote my pool there office was very professional. After that it went down hill. On August 14 we had their salesman Ryan come to our home to provide a quote. Ryan showed up for the quote and was personable, but did not take any notes for our quote, I had to ask him if he wanted my email to send the quote. He said I would have my quote by Thursday. On the Thursday I messaged him with no response. I week later I messaged him again with no response. It’s been over a month waiting for a quote that will never come. Don’t waste your time calling Betz they don’t need your business. As they won’t even take the time to follow up. Bad way to conduct business.

Last Saturday, we found ourselves with a broken chlorine line, followed by a pump failure. We were having a party the next day and wanted desperately to have the pool working. With great cooperation from Rob in service and Frank (President), we were able to have both problems resolved within hours. Absolutely first rate response and to have the President of the company secure a pump from his warehouse and personally deliver it to Rob in Toronto for installation was typical of the service we have received from Betz over the past 30+ years. Thank you Rob and Frank for great service!

If I could score Betz a negative number I would. Worst customer service, completely non responsive, they closed our Hot Tub for the winter and it was completely full of white and black mold when we opened it in the spring. They booked a cleaning for it and then completely forgot the appointment. Shocking how this company has stayed in business for so long. We had the same poor treatment from them when we had our pool. Terrible experience and I would suggest you go anywhere else.

I am the Property Manager for a waterfront estate with a large 50 by 20 pool. Betz Pools installed the pool and have looked after it for 14 years. During that time they have provided Winter Maintenance, opening and closing, weekly service, and respond to any problems.

The staff, including the office staff, opening and closing crew, and weekly service crew are wonderful. They are very professional in everything they do and go about their work with a friendly and helpful attitude.

Over the years some problems do happen and our Technician Dave always responds to my calls for assistance promptly. I never have to wait very long for his call, and have never had to call twice. He is very knowledgeable, can solve any problems, and goes about his business in a friendly, professional way.

I recommend Betz Pools to any one who is looking for a Pool Service, especially if you have a large pool, They are the best.

We've lived in this, our only single family home, for ~40 years. It had a 3 yrs.old Betz inground concrete pool (this was never on our priority list). Only ever used Betz for service & equipment/supplies and absolutely no regrets. Highly recommend Betz Pools.

Built a pool with Betz this August, still not complete, and pool can't be closed. Betz collected ALL the money and still pool is on, waiting with big snow in Toronto every day.really disappointed.will take legal action if still can't be fixed shortly.

Poorly run company. They should be called 3 Time Betz meaning that you can place bets if the problem will or, more likely not, be solved after 3 visits. We have had them service our indoor and outdoor pool for about 3 years and have had multiple issues with them leaving the pools filthy after cleaning or leaving our indoor dryatron on after a repair to our indoor pool which almost destroyed the inside stucco walls of the pool room. For this they never apologized and in fact denied they ever did it. Truth is not their strong point.
Their staff are very sloppy as well many times leaving a mess in the pool equipment area or leaving the pool in manual mode which means I had to restart and leaving the gates to our backyard open allowing our dogs to escape. Poorly trained staff. Minimal response to my concerns as well.

In addition, they have no sense of fair billing. In June I had my Polaris repaired with parts and labour costing about $500. In August they told me I needed a new Polaris. No refund on the previous parts or labour. They will likely blame me for overusing the Polaris. I have now left them and much happier with the new pool company. Would not recommend if you want good service that is honest and fairly priced.

We met Mark from Betz over one year ago, at our home; very client-centric. No other company compared. He was in no rush to close a deal, and offered up several creative ideas on design, even in the absence of a deposit. This summer, we are moving forward with plans. On Mark's return to our home, he remembered our kids, our pet, and immediately recalled and understood our style. The Betz reputation continues to soar!

Not a customer (yet), but was looking at their services until my experience this weekend. Driving up the cottage on Hwy 48 through Baldwin. I had the great privilege of being tailgated by one of their vans, while I was going over the speed limit and had a decent amount of cars ahead of me. Whatever fire was lit under their rears caused them to tailgate me, while my 7 m/o nephew buckled in the back and baby on board sign in our back window, for a good 15-20 mins before passing me and multiple other cars on a double yellow. I get being late to a client's place but that is no reason to put other peoples' lives at risk and driving like a jackass. Good thing that I have everything on dashcam (front and rear) so let's see how you reply, that'll be the litmus test on if i take this to the cops or not.

Call and spoke to mark at betz pools about a month ago. At first he was great. Sent me a drawing of a idea and the price was right date to start was also great. After that it went down hill called multiple times to set up a time to sign and no reply. I'm sorry but this is b.s. Waste my time and no reply. I guess it must be true if the pool doesn't cost over 100000. Then they have no time for you. I will never reccomend this place ever. Very sad. They should get better sales reps that no customer service. Aka return phone calls.
