There seems to be a lot of irrelevant and inappropriate comments in the reviews. (It is a middle school filled with pre-teens, new teens after all).
An honest opinion of parent with two kids who have gone through the school - it was a very good experience overall. The principal and staff are caring, professional, efficient and very hardworking. (Sometimes would see email responses from them long after hours into the night and into the weekends). It is a tight ship they run given it is a middle school and French Immersion. The teaching staff are really first rate. For the French teachers- quite a number speak French as a first language or very very good with the language (per the review of other French as first language parents who have kids in the school). The English teaching staff are also first rate. Based on our sense after having 2 children grow up in the school, and comments from fellow parents in the school, everyone we know seems impressed and happy with the teaching staff in general.
The downsides of the school - it feels relatively small compared to other schools. I could be wrong but think there are around 4-5 classes per grade. In terms of extra curriculars, there are not as many options as larger schools. Also the school doesn't have its own track so they really have to make do when training. (This may be common among many elementary schools -doubt many have tracks.) Lastly, the traffic during drop-offs is a pain. Because this is in an older neighborhood, there is no stopping along Neal Drive like there is with its feeder school Michaelle Jean PS on Shirley. The city LOVES ticketing around BAPS. You have to park at a side street and walk the rest of the way. Because it is FI, it has a large border, so this is very impractical for the occasions you don't use the school bus and drop them off or pick them up yourself.
Would say the school experience was 9.5/10 overall. The kids had an excellent preparation for high school which is the point for middle school.
