The photos they post look nothing like the food received! Probably THE worst Indian restaurant I've been to. I went in with really high hopes expecting a good meal, we ordered the buttered chicken, naan and rice. The chicken felt and tasted like something frozen that was warmed up and put into the sauce for only a few minutes, not quality at all. The sauce itself was very sweet, and tasted like ketchup. The rice was also very cheap looking and tasted like it as well. Overall very sad. It took forever for them to come out with our bill and who I'm assuming is the owner insisted we take everything with us to go, and when we politely declined he started pressuring us about it, saying "what you don't like it? ". I was so so disappointed.
Ordered through UberEats, I got confirmation that it was received by restaurant and preparing order. At the time of pick up, restaurant just cancelled order without any explanation! Wasted our time, if it could not honor the order, should have not confirmed it or cancelled sooner. Very unprofessional attitude!
An absolutely amazing takeout experience. I was in a hurry and had the perfect madras chicken and paratha. The server and chef greeted me when I walked in and were super friendly, despite my rushed demeanor! I am definitely visiting again, it's my favorite place in Toronto for curries!
I've never waited so long for a takeout meal. The guy who took my order said they didn't have my favorite dish and the menu was not translated. I found out by looking at an old menu, while waiting, that they did have the vegetable I wanted. Too late to reorder. I'm writing this review while I'm waiting. I only came here because Govinda's on Avenue Road is closed on Mondays and I had tasted Bhoj's food before and it was delicious. Now I'm regretting the decision. They gave me a complimentary raita and nan, but it still came to $40 for soup, biriyani rice, and a main dish.
Absolutely amazing! The place is beautiful and staff are super friendly and the food is delicious. I love that you get a lot of food as well for the price. It's definitely not like other expensive restaurants. I really love the food … Naan was so tasty n soft …. Special Butter chicken was really awesome in taste thank you chef for making a tasty food for me and my family
Amazing place! I only ever get the chance to order takeout but they are so quick and really lovely to me every time. The food is crazy good, I love trying new things off the menu because nothing disappoints! I also think food tastes better when you know its being made by good people. I hope to be able to dine in sometime soon.
I love this place! Good food and great people in a convenient location for me. Try their drumsticks with naan.so yummy. Good location too. When I dont want to deal with the downtown foot traffic but dont want to walk too far, this is my go to place!
Ordered through UberEats. Laccha Parantha are over $5 each. Way way way overpriced for the lame taste and size. I have had better from other restaurants both better in size and quality. This was a total disappointment and waste of money.
It's pretty descent Indian restaurant, however paneer kadai was a turn off as it was just burnt tomato sauce and hard paneer. Did not taste any good at all. However naan was buttery soft and good. Can be avoided
The guy rudely asked if we want bottled water or tap water. And then on seeing that we have our own water, he said if you want to use that water you’ll have to pay for it the restaurant is a joke, stood up the very next minute ain’t ever going again
This place caught my attention with how good it smelled as I passed it by. So one day I decided to stop by and try their food and man they did not disappoint. Their curry both veg and non-veg was on point, the spices were exactly what you'd hope for and they were nice enough to provide their naan bread which complimented the sauce.
Also tried their biryani and their tandoori chicken rice and it was hands down the best I had in this city.
If you're looking for authentic food and one that tastes good (with great portions) then this is the place. 5th time visited.
Great tastes at this is unpretentious, traditional Indian restaurant. Bhoj won’t win any prizes for the design of the space or compliments on the furniture, it has the vibe of an old school family-run sit down Indian joint. They serve great Indian food at a reasonable price. We had the Malabari seafood curry, assorted tandoori tikka platter and an eggplant curry the name of which now escapes me, a couple of garlic naan and some cumin-spiced rice. Everything tasted pretty much flawless, and the restaurant is worth visiting for the excellent food, just don’t come expecting some trendy or fashionable environment.
I arrived at the restaurant having heard nothing about it and having no preconceived expectations. The food was delicious and the ambience is old school quaint. You can tell when you get there it is all about the food. The staff was courteous and helpful and even brought out complementary rice pudding to cool our mouths after ordering hot spicing. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The food here is really amazing. I eat a lot of Indian food but I keep coming back here. The staff is really friendly which is a nice touch. Would recommend to anyone in Toronto.
My favorite gem for Indian Cuisine in Toronto. It’s a tucked away oasis in a busy part of the city where every bite is unforgettable. Cant wait to keep coming back to try the whole menu?
We’ve been to this restaurant a couple of times — the food is delicious! So flavourful and not greasy. The chefs here are a notch above! The spinach appetizer (Hariyali Palak Kebab) was amazing. Can’t wait to go back, even though it’s not close to where we live, it’s worth the trip. We dine in for that reason, and even though it’s not a “fancy” setting, we trust the staff here and really enjoy the dining experience. Dianne D
This meal was disgusting. It also took ages to come, which is strange since it was already rotted. We ordered a meat dish, vegetable and raita with vegetarian appetizer platter. The yogurt in the raita was spoiled and fermented imparting a reprehensible taste to the rest of the food, as we had spooned it over our curries and rice. Additionally, when we tried to eat the Veg.appetizers, they reeked of reused and old oil and were filled with unidentifiable stuff. Absolutely gross and seriously over-priced. Serving rotten food to customers is unacceptable.
Wouldn’t recommend dining in. They only provide bottled water and won’t tell you you’ll be charged for them. The dining space was stuffy as they didn’t turn on the AC. Someone also entered to clean the window which made the smell very unpleasant. Food is quite good but the portion of tandoori shrimp was too small for the price.
I had ordered food for my son's birthday party, food provided by Bhoj is delicious and mouth watering, all the guests enjoyed enrire varieties of food on the table and surprisingly there was no leftover. It's unusual to find a place having both Veg & Non-Veg tastes at par. I highly recommend this place if you believe ur family, friends and guests to end their party celebrations on high note. Thanking note. NJOY.
This is my absolute favourite restaurant in Toronto. A true hidden gem, with great service, and hands down the best chana masala I have ever tasted. I’d eat here every day if I could.
Stopped today to try this spot out on a whim. Was welcomed with excellent service when I asked for a recommendation. This is my new go to spot for Indian cuisine in Toronto. Don’t miss out.
The chicken vindaloo is amaaaaaazing if you can handle heat. I’ll be back!
The quality of food here is amazing which is a rare find these days. Best punjabi food in Toronto. Excellent food, must try! We come here once every 15 days, love it. My personal favourite- paneer makhani, cheese naan appetizer and daal makhani.
Awesome food and fantastic hospitality sums it up for Bhoj. Have been eating out for the last 4 years at different downtown toronto Indian restaurants and the taste here is what it gets closest to something back home. Keep up the GREAT WORK. Cheers
We had catering service from Bhoj and it was great food. I highly recommend this place. The haryali kabab and chutney was out of this world and a must try. Thanks Bhoj for making our event, a special one.
Amazing Indian food! The owner is the nicest man that is very welcoming! The food was amazing and I can’t do too much spice so they mentioned most of there menu is adjustable to fit the spice level you require. I can’t do spice so the mild butter chicken was perfect! Definitely will be coming back!
I went here a week ago and the food was amazing! Decided to come back for more and the staff remembered me from one visit days ago. Awesome food and awesome service can’t recommend it enough!
All the good reviews are fake! We ordered lassi and mix non vegetarian platter. The lassi was a bit sour, therefore we asked them for refund. Not only they refused for refund, but also they were rude. The chicken in the platter were also not fresh. Would not recommend visiting the place especially if you want good service.
The food here is awesome! The staff are really nice. Definitely going back! Only problem was the decor - but that will change because I am going to become a regular.
Not only was the food fantastic, the service was also great. We were waiting for our take out order and the staff was really nice and conversational. Would definitely return!
Very bad service…ordered from skip the dishes, I specifically written that please add spoons, and they are saying we can do anything now and they shut the call when i was talking. Don’t ever go to this restaurant. It is common sense to add spoon if you order samosa chat pr anything like it and please let me know should i eat it with hand? Behaviour is also not good. They don’t know how to talk to the customer.
Great food! The best Indian restaurant in downtown. Would recommend this restaurant, been a regular customer for while. Kailash is a great chef and awesome with North Indian dishes. Cheers!
Good food and service. The staff were all really nice and I really enjoyed my meal. I had the paneer makhni which I would definitely recommend. Prices were low and I will come back here for sure.
The kitchen guy is rude and the staff also he’s rude they don’t let you do is washroom if you only pick up the food and they said they only let customer Washroom If dine in.
Also the washroom is nasty and smell inside is disgusting
Yes, I have counted, 15 cubes of chicken in the butter chicken. 8 cubes of paneer in the palak paneer. I did not expect to find one chicken and a mountain of paneer but definitely did not expect to be charge $1/cube of chicken nor almost $2/cube of paneer. Taste wise, it is ok.
Their veggie dishes are all excellent and I really like that they are not oily. The staff are very friendly, and the chef always gives attention to regular customers. Thank you
This place is amazing and spacious, the menu was delightful and the rates were very fair.quick, productive service and very attentive staff members. Recommended.
Indian cuisine can be a hit and miss and looking at the reviews convinced me to give it a try
Bhoj Special Butter Chicken $15.95 (5/5) Tadka Dal $10.95 (3/5) Samosas 4/$4.95 (4/5) Garlic Naan $3.75 (4/5)
Their special butter chicken is pretty dang good. Not a lot of chicken pieces but the flavor is great. Tadka Dal was okay, packaged came broken somehow but has a nice kick to it. Samosas are tasty, good value and are freshly crisped. Garlic naan are fantastic but I'd imagine it's hard to mess that up.
Overall I'm a fan and would buy it again in the future!
Having worked in the food industry - I’m not usually one to rant about restaurants. But this one really confused me.
After reading amazing reviews about the restaurant, I decided to order take out - though the food tasted okay - I wasn’t too sure if the portion was actually right. There was a BOGO offer going but it looked more like one dish split into two. My two orders on entree looked fit half way into two small containers around the same size as a regular size soup from “Tim Horton’s”. If that was an actual size of entree than I think it is a rip off, and if that was actually skimping on the offer - it doesn’t make the best impression of the restaurant.
PS - these are the two packs of entrees that I received
Wow. Best butter chicken and Vindaloo we’ve had yet in Toronto. Very flavourful and HOT!
We did pick up and were greeted by the host immediately (while practicing social distancing). Before we left the chef came out to say thank you for choosing us - made us feel special!
