Biff's Bistro

Super friendly staff and amazing food. We typically go for oysters and a brut. Also like the entree sizes tartar with the home made mustard. We go there pretty regularly when we are in town.

We had dinner here before watching Andre Rieu concert at Scotiabank Arena. Biff's Bistro location is very continent. I called the restaurant several time before parking at 33 Yong Street at 5.30pm. I guess the restaurant was too busy and no body picked up the call. So I parked first then went up to the restaurant to get the parking code. The parking garage is downstairs of Biff's Bistro. Parking was free on Sundry evening. I parked there for the whole evening until the end of the concert. We three people shared the dishes: Steak Tartare App (4 stars), Foie Gras App (5 stars), Boeuf Bourguigon (5 stars) and Carre D'Agneau (4 stars). The wait time was about 20minitus and it was acceptable considering the restaurant was very busy at that time. The service was good.

The food was absolutely delicious and the service was amazing! Came here for the summerlicious menu and it definitely did not disappoint. The waiters were extremely welcoming and friendly.

Great experience with the Summerlicious menu while visiting Toronto.
Went for lunch with my sister and returned for dinner with my husband.
Outdoor seating in the shade was comfortable and reminiscent of a Parisian cafe. Inside was more formal, and suitable for a quiet, romantic dinner.
Our favorites were: chilled potato soup, shrimp rolls, Cornish hen, grilled bream, and poached apricots.

Service was wonderful for both lunch and dinner. We got attentive service accompanied with million-dollar smiles!

Went there with a friend one evening and really enjoyed the food, ambience as well as the top service from Robert! The Pickled pear and truffle Brie was delicious (the crostini's were a bit hard/stale) the pasta noodles and the foie gras were delicious as well the pumpkin Basque burnt cheesecake was a real quality dessert that you don't often find outside of Europe. The wine selection was fabulous, the martinis were delicious potions! I will be back one day soon and will be bringing my appetite!

Great location in the heart of Financial District. Ideal place to take your clients or colleagues for a lunch/dinner. Nice elegant atmosphere and very reasonable priced menu items.

Made a reservation for 5pm but it was unnecessary as it was quite empty, and only started filling in around 6: 30 right before we left.

Food was tasty - my favourite thing we ordered was the baked Brie (photo attached) - I didn’t see many reviews on this item (nor any pictures) so I’m here to provide. Honestly one of the best baked bries I’ve ever had. Perfect sized appy for 2 people, or if you’re a big cheese person, not too much for one person to demolish. Our mains were Ratatouille and Beef Bourguignon. The ratatouille was definitely a lighter meal, (and also one of the most inexpensive on the menu), but it was pretty good for just being roasted veggies and couscous, and filling enough especially if you get an appetizer or dessert. There’s an “olive crumble” on top - I hate olives - and it honestly made the dish. It was just a crispy, salty garnish, and surprisingly good. The beef was obviously more hearty, and let many other reviews here, very full of flavour and tender. We also got the side of bread and the butter was to die for. I know, it’s just butter, but it was amazing. My boyfriend even plopped the remainder onto his beef dish.

Cocktails were fine, nothing to write home about in my opinion, but they’re definitely more known for their wine selection. I got a cocktail since it was part of a promo they have from 4-6pm.

Overall great food, attentive service (water glasses always filled, made notes to the kitchen for an allergy even though it was minor, and did not hover/check in too much where it got annoying like some places do). Upscale, but not too fancy where you feel out of place. Would definitely return here and recommend it to those looking for good French food without an extremely high price tag.

First to say, I was not to plan to go to this bistro at first place! Second from outside look high end restaurant and it is, kinda! Restaurant it is, but bar side is just regular bar/bistro with great food and excellent choices of vines! Bartender was polite, quick, entertaining, knowledgeable about menus and drinking choices of guests, get us a free sample of our drinks just to make sure that we are on the same page, so the say! Yrs we have a burger and fries but fries was something else! A+! So next time when I will be in downtown Toronto guess where I will go!? Biff bistro it's my place!

At Biff's the ambience and food are always on point, and it's a great place for memorable celebrations. For first timers, make sure to try the scrumptious Boeuf Bourguignon (braised beef, cipollini, bacon, mushroom, pomme purée), or the
Coq Au Vin (braised chicken, bacon lardons, onion, green beans, pommes purée, red wine sauce), both are great introductions to their amazing menu.
For more advanced palates, the terrine de campagne (pork, pistachio, Biff’s mustard, greens, grilled baguette) might be rewarding.
While the savoury menu is fingerlicking good (not that you should do that, mind you), their dessert menu is somewhat hit or miss. The opera cake (Joconde sponge cake, coffee buttercream, hazelnut ganache) was good but a little bit on the dry side (maybe that's their style, can't tell) but I ate every bit of it:) and the tarte aux pommes (pastry cream, vanilla ice cream, apple spiced crumb) was ok, not sure I'd have it again.

The staff was lovely, multicultural and made me feel right at home.
Overall, 10/10.

This place is absolutely fantastic.
French Onion soup is to die for, the Fillet steak frits no words, the fires are seasoned perfectly the steak was magical and the bartender was so welcoming he made it feel like home. I cannot wait until I get another chance to come back.

Great service. Good volume level (I could easily talk to the person across the table). Delicious appetizers. Will be going back.

This place is spectacular! Food is top notch. I had the mushroom soup to start and one taste reminded me of how great food is capable of being. Love this place.

We had a phenomenal dinner at Biff’s. Loved everything- the music, the atmosphere (we’ve been to France, they nailed the bistro atmosphere), the service, the wine, the food! Even the eclectic mismatched silverware. We started with oysters and a great bottle of red (to go with the food later but it was sooo yummy) and moved onto apps: foie tarte and escargots. The bun served with was light and crisp. Perfect.
Hubby had the steak frites with a tenderloin. It was perfectly cooked and very flavourful. Fries were on point and the green beans were perfectly tender-crisp. I had the ris de veau app as my main (having just been at a resort where this request would throw them into a tailspin…) this was perfectly timed with the other main. Excellent texture and it was a great size as a small main! We wanted to try the opera cake but somehow had the apple tarte and weren’t mad about it. There’s a yummy custard layer and beautiful apples on top. Definitely will return!

We had our annual friends Christmas lunch there. Everything was great. They gave us a private room (knew we were noisy?) and fed us well. Service was very attentive and the food was excellent. Recommended.

Such a great atmosphere and just a delightful place for cocktails. JP the bartender was so fun and knowledgeable about the menu and gave great recommendations. We will definitely have to come back for dinner sometime soon.

Great spot for a business lunch. Had the salmon which is a popular item on the menu. There were many other people that ordered the same dish for lunch and they were able to cook it to perfection. The French food here is always delicious. Had the beef medallions a few years ago and they were so tender and amazing. Highly recommend as a business lunch spot or a date night in the financial district.

Sat in the bar. Service and food on point. Cheeky cocktails and great wine selection. Cool vibe.

We hosted a dinner in the red dining room for our anniversary and it was the perfect venue. Alyssa was our contact at Oliver and Bonacini, and she made all the decision making easy. On the night of, we were taken care of by Al - who was an exceptional host. Remembering names, drink orders and allergies. The menu was well thought out and the food was timed perfectly and cooked to everyone's tastes. I think most guests ordered the steak and there were only compliments! We all left very full and happy. We'll be back for dinners before shows and for special occassions. Thank you so much Biff's!

We love going to Biff's Bistro. We were treating our sister to a fine dining experience in Toronto and Biff's is the patio place to be.
Ryan was very prompt with getting us settled and sated with mussels and Beef Bourgignon, topped off with Biff's Juicy Red. The ganache dessert was the icing on the cake, as it were.
It's always a great place for a great evening with family and friends.

Great vintage vibe bistro! If you want to escape reality and dress up fancy, this is the place to fine dine. Make sure you get a cocktail since it is a signature there. My app, main & dessert tasted so good. It also accomidated my wife's allergies but I would say that they could expand their variety on dietary restrictions. Otherwise a great bistro to go to in the heart of Toronto!

Unfortunately, not great. Food was cold and returned, server didn't know the menu, and finally one of the barmen, who brought us our wine, was rude, flippant, before turning passive aggressive towards ourselves.

A total let-down of a meal.
