Big Al's Aquarium Supercentres - London

1. Expensive aquariums, bad return policy. Currently, 20 Gallon all in one aquarium at Big Al is $75 more then other similar store. Also, No return policy on anything. Important thing to consider before buying.

2. Better fish collection.

3. Personal: Very weird experience. It was our 1st aquarium. Seller told me that if I buy the aquarium today, I will get stones free. As soon as I went for payment he changed his wording. I was a very weird and bad experience in the end. I was with my daughter and we were very happy while buying it so just wend with the purchase anyway, otherwise I would have cancelled my transection. I hope the future transection go reliably but i will be careful that time for sure.

Wide selection of healthy plants and fish! Got 4 beautiful Bosemani rainbow's, 4 German blue ram's, and an assortment of plant's for the aquarium.

More expensive than other "aquarium" pet stores in London. Don't go on the weekends - staff are rude when the store gets busy.

Great experience. Although they mostly seem to have nano aquarium fish, was a great experience. All staff were helpful and nice. One of the best big als I've ever been to.

A lot of the fish have sunken in bellies and for the type of fish they have extremely cold water

Nice staff, and cool fish. Usually, also has what I want in stock too. A bit pricey in terms of non-livestock supplies, but they always have a great support of livestock.

These people know what they’re talking about and taught me everything about how to keep fish of any kind alive and well. They also isolate newly received fish probably to avoid spreading any germs. The selection is really great.

Great place and service goes above and beyond. Because of the civic holiday they only had 1 staff in store. I was only browsing but he was sure to catch me on the way out to make sure there was not anything he could help us find which says a lot when he was dealing with 3 different groups asking questions already. A+ service as always.

Great selection. Friendly staff. Reasonable prices. I also enjoyed meeting the store pets: Kyle the Bearded Dragon, and the biggest Red-Ear Turtles I've ever seen in person!

Paul and Aaron are full of knowledge. I’m sure their staff are as well but I always deal with them directly. Super friendly and quick to answer any questions I have. Paul even made time to help me with a new tank setup. Highly recommend his store and services!

Wow, what a great experience at Big Al's today buying fish. They really do care about thier fish and their customers. The owner and I believe the gentleman looking after the fish Tony were very kind, fast, knowledgeable, and efficient. They really helped me out today.

One of the best aquarium stores in london ontario. Whenever I need anything for my fish I go for Big Als. Staff is knowledgeable and friendly. The service is excellent. Great variety of supplies and fishes. I would highly recommend this store.

Their curbside pick up is efficient and the staff are great. Non instore shopping didn't stop us from adopting some guppies.

Do not shop here. But if you choose to do so; make sure you get a receipt for every transaction. Whether it be a purchase or an exchange to make sure you don't get ripped off. Also if you are doing a curb side pick up double check your purchase before you leave or else you may get a rotting plant or fish that are dying. I suggest going to southwest pet, pet paradise or sustainable marine for your fish needs or order online. I believe in supporting local businesses but there are other local businesses other than this one that are more deserving of your loyalty and patronage.

Visited the store for the first time a couple weeks ago since covid started. Very happy to be back in my local fish store. Customer service has always been great and very happy to see the staff making sure everyone is safely distanced inside and not over crowding the store like some of the other stores in town.

I’ve been here more than couple of times but I never had an experience like this before. It was terrible and the attitude of the staffs not acceptable. I went here to purchase some fish, plants, and some other accessories like food filters substrate, but one of the staff were pushing me to go faster. He wants me to get out ASAP.

I wanted to get some live plants for my aquarium but he was limited my time of being in the store and telling that i have to buy fast. At the same time there were more customers in the store, nobody saying them to do faster. I felt very discomfort and had to purchase a very little plants.
At checkout the staff tells another staff that I could go to pet smart and buy those plants.

It’s my wish where I want to go and what I need to purchase, not theirs.

Their attitude needs to change if they want to succeed in this field. They should treat customers nicely

Had an incident involving a man at the store kicking me out because he had to let others in, but he has sincerely apologized the next time I went inside and gave me helpful information

They have a lot of variety for fish and plants, I look forward to shopping there in the future. However, I believe they need more information about how to care for axolotls as the water was too warm and the one they had looked like it had an infection.

The worst customer service ever experienced and the attitude of the staffs should be considered most important, customers also know that the products are available in other stores, yet we came in to your shop just to purchase some plants and some fishes but the attitude of the store staff was really horrible, your staff don’t have to tell us that you could have bought this from pet’s mart it’s our wish from where we choose to do our purchase, with this attitude better luck with your business have a nice day

With Covid going on, they have a really good wait system (pagers when it's your turn). Fish looked good and decent variety for any average fish/aquarium owner.

We went in to see what they had in variety of plants and we found beautiful plants to put in our new aquarium. We found perfect rocks and stones to put in the bottom of the aquarium. The salespersons were very helpful in giving us hints to create the perfect Aquarium.

Best fish store experience in London. Have a great selection of both fresh and saltwater fish. They have a small selection of coral.
Best option for fish if you want to avoid PerSmart.
My son loves going and just wandering around looking at the displays. They have a nice turtle set up, I large African Cichlid tank, I huge saltwater display tank and often others set up like a planted tank display.

Always courteous and helpful this is the go to place for ALL our aquarium needs. The staff are very knowledgeable and the fish have always been exceptional.

Terrible first time experience at this location.

I asked if they carried Tropica 1-2-3 Grow Tissue Culture plants as my aquarium is pest free. The one girl had no idea what i was talking about. I pulled up a picture and the other girl says "Oh those ones.yeah my boss doesn't want us to carry them. "

Ok. Can i preorder 5 cultures then because every Big Al's has them. She said " you'll have to wait until he comes back from vacation and there's no guarantee he will do that for you"

I asked who does your ordering when he is away? She said "We have another person do it but we need permission. "

How long do I have to wait til he comes back? A week.

I have been a loyal customer to Big Al's Brampton and Hamilton. Always had a positive experience for well over 20 years.

This location is THE ABSOLUTE WORST. I will drive to Hamilton from London before I EVER step foot in this location again.

We love this store! I've neen a customer since I was a kid, back when they were on Wellington Road. Quality stock, excellent customer service and they will always take the time to help you understand how best to maneuver this hobby.

I wanted some fish that they had just gotten in, an employee name Katie explained to me that they needed to make sure the fish were healthy before sale, so I couldn't get them. I really appreciate the care they put into making sure their stock is top notch and making sure I wouldn't bring home fish that would get my whole community tank sick. Stellar job! I know other places will just let you buy the fish straight off, but it makes way more sense to wait than kill off an entire tank because I'm impatient.
