Love watching the fishes. They have a good selection of fish to buy and the workers can answer all your questions if you are first time buyers.

Helped me out with my new fish tank. Great service all around from fish guidance to equipment and use. Great family experience every time!

We went to this store for the first time as a family. My kids want to buy some fishes and aquarium. Courtney was so helpful, knowledgeable and answered all of our questions. The store manager, Jeff was so kind, knowledgeable and welcoming to our family. He even offered for my kids to feed the koi. We highly recommend this store and will be back again.

Went to look at an Aquarium setup and educate myself on how to stock and establish the Aquarium. Was greeted by 2 showroom people neither of which offered any assistance until I had to flag someone down and then they didn't offer much help. When I asked about how to stock that particular Aquarium I was pointed (not walked back) to the fish room where I wandered around for 15 minutes before someone offered assistance. When Cameron did help he was great however the experience was already ruined.

Unfortunately this is my local store, although the staff is mostly very helpful I can’t stand the store itself. Prices for corals are crazy overpriced compared to other stores and they are never very healthy looking. The plant selection is very basic and over prices aswell, selection of fish never changes either. I believe that since most people in the area haven’t really been to other stores is the reason why it has any sort of decent review

The staff here is not only knowledgeable of anything you need help with but they're also very friendly, courteous, and thoughtful. I went there with my daughter and they were nice to let her feed some fish. She was too shy so the associate told me he'd leave some food out by the koi pond for her so she could feed the fish when we got there. Very good experience.

General knowledge is ok, but complex questions can't get answered. Selection of fish is pretty thin, lots of dead floating around in more than a handful of the tanks. It's tough to manage the tanks when the staff are hanging around in the corner chatting with eachother I guess.

Small store, limited stock, including plants. Used to the Mississauga and Hamilton locations, so this spot was disappointing.

Big Al's was great! We needed more fish for our tank. The fellow that helped us had a lot of knowledge and really helped us out. Our new fish are loving the tank and we are really happy with our new additions. Highly recommend Big Al's Aquarium.

I was very happy with the knowledge and service when my wife and I came in to add fish to our new tank after we had to replace it due to a leak. I wish I had the person's name but he was extremely helpful and truly cared for the fish and where they were going. He steered a couple away after testing their water and saying this isn't safe to drink never mind putting fish in it. The knowledge and helpfulness was very impressive and happy to come back.our fish are happy and healthy.

This location is nice. It's pretty big and definitely has everything you are looking for. I usually get equipment for our aquarium The staff are extremely helpful and will explain in detail what you need to know. The only downside is that all locations are not connected to the same points system. So I would have to make 2 accounts, which is odd and tedious. Other than that this place is rad and a great location of buying pets

Was overcharged for worms for my geckos half the worms were dead and the count was totally wrong.also there was not enough air holes in containers probably why they died. I want my money back and wont be returning there.

Hats off to Jeff. I came in with the idea of getting some platys. I did. The awesome thing he did! I live three hours away. He put each fish in their own bag, added oxygen and then packed them in a Styrofoam box. Inside the box he also filled empty bags with air to ensure they didn't move around. His knowledge was amazing. No question was a stupid question! Thank you Jeff.

This is not only an amazing store but a year round exotic exhibition. More than that, superior staff.

Their fish prices seemed to have doubled or more in the last 5 years. I'm out of the hobby because of them

Went to buy some small aquarium plants like moss for some ecospheres. The staff here was very polite and helpful, offering their assistance to me but letting me browse peacefully as well. The young man who helped me and answered my questions had quite a bit of knowledge on the plants, fish and products. Overall a small but interesting place to browse and the friendly staff make this little store worth the visit. Will definitely come back here again.

Great location. Most of the staff is very nice and helpful. Especially, the guy with the neck gaitor in the fish room and a lady named Courtney from front of store. There are a few people who look like they don't want to work there, just try to avoid them if aren't helpful at first.

Stood in line for 20 min to check out bc the cashier was having a discussion about bulbs with a customer.

There was a gentlemen working in the back with an owl tattooed on his chest who gave me and my boyfriend AMAZING service, took the time and explained everything and helped with our future tank
PLUS the lady as the cashier recommended and pointed out something that was cheaper and had more food in it.

Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff! They really set you up for success. Shout out to Anthony in particular, his expertise has helped me go from no tanks to 5 in the past 9 months. The stock quality here is also excellent. I've purchased at least 25 fish so far and they've all been very healthy. Only lost 1 within a day which they replace at half cost. The fish are much healthier than the Steeles location where I encountered significant issues. Definitely recommend this store!

The fish room staff were knowledgeable & attentive unlike some other locations. I got kirin parrots from here that nobody else had. Worth a visit.

Absolutely OUTSTANDING customer service. I spoke to a guy named Chris (no relation lol) and he took the time with me to try to figure out exactly what happened. Although we couldn't exactly pinpoint what happened, he gave me some ideas and a place to start to make sure it doesn't happen again. He even offered to replace the shrimp I had purchased. I could not have been happier, and I will definitely be coming back.

Really like this place, but I bought some plants today and immediately after planting them my shrimp began to die off. Looks like toxicity of some kind from the way they are reacting. Its heartbreaking.

This is by far my favorite fish store, soo many different types, just a fun place to go browse around and look at all the different kinds of fish.

Amazing staffs! Toronto would be a much better place if every business runs with Big Als Newmarket's quality of excellence.

Amazing experience. I couldn't have been happier. Chris took the time to educate me on all things aquariums/fish and go through everything in detail to get my new live plant freshwater aquarium up and running. What made this even more remarkable is the time that was spent going through all of my options was done over the phone due to the lockdown. His knowledge was exceptional and as he got to know more about my goals his recommendations became spot on. I now can say that I have the perfect aquarium for my needs. Curbside pick up was distanced and seamless, as safe as one can be.
