Food, atmosphere and service is amazing. Makes you feel like you’re back home. Owner is a very nice guy, and interacts well with everyone. Definitely will come again!

We were driving around and found this hidden jewel, we took a family platter, the flavor was authentic, food is really amazing, staff are friendly, I know now where to order next.

I absolutely love the food here, the staff are always so friendly. I had some issues with an Uber eats order once and the owner stepped up to make it right when I couldn't get an answer from Uber. Thank you so much for your great service! I'll definitely be back:)

I dont understand the 5 star this place has. I came in, and got a shawarama for takeout, because of the good reviews i was expecting to have a great meal.
When the lady came out with a paper bag, (the same size most every shawarma place puts them in), i noticed the bag had my shawarma in it. But no shawarwma sticking out the top of the bag, thick, and probably 1/3 -1/4 of it sticking out like everywhere else. The bag was actually folded 1/4 the way down.haha. I looked at it and took it, and noticed it felt like nothing maybe 1/8th of a pound.weird. I didnt complain and waited until i got home, but i knew i'd be disappointed.
Well, my thoughts were true, and it was the smallest shawarma i've ever seen.it was about 4 bites big.for $11.20 (after $1.00 tip), and asking for extra onion and pickles.
The paper bag, i could fold over 1/4 of the bag from the top, and was just funny they charged me this much, i took pictures. It was about 2 Bic lighters tall, and 1.5 thick. So, Their regular shawarama is the equivalent of about a two bite browny.but for 3x the price that quantity should be.
Shame on you Big H. Shame on you.

They seem to put barely any garlic sauce on their potatoes now. This wouldn't have been that big of an issue, but they also can't seem to remember to send the extra garlic sauce that I paid for either. Their samosas seem to have gotten much smaller as well, basically bite sized, but the price is still the same as they used to be.

One of my favourite Shawarma places ever!

Big H has been a consistent favourite of mine for their delicious shawarma poutines. Beautifully flavoured meats with amazing sauces and crispy fries. Portions are phenomenal and it’s always hot and fresh! I’m so lucky I work near so I can pick it up for lunch once in a while.

The restaurant can be slow and quiet, and it’s often empty but make no mistake, the food is brilliant and the staff is friendly! Give them a try.

This used to be my favourite place for Shawarma & poutine, but maybe they changed chefs cause it has been really awful lately.

Their chicken shawarma used to be exactly how it should be.juicy but a little crispy on the outside…but lately it has been subpar. I’ve often paid for double meat and gotten just one meat portion, and the meat is full of fat and gristle.

The garlic potatoes that come with the platter used to be unlike any potatoes I have had at any shawarma place before in the best way possible, the sauce that used to be on them was SO so good, almost a lemon spice flavour—very addictive— they used to be the best shawarma potatoes in the city! Lately they are just greasy with no sauce at all.

They don’t sell sauces on the side like tahini and their other sauces when you do delivery on the apps so often when you add them as an add-on to the platter you don’t always get them even if you paid for it. Now they’ve removed tahini all together from the app.

The garlic sauce is so gross lately that I can’t even eat it, tastes like they are adding either butter or margarine to it to cut costs…it’s really bad. Even the smell is bad. I’ve been ordering here for a long time but won’t be any more cause the quality has gone completely down hill.

I really enjoyed the food here and the guy that made it was really kind and made the food really good. I would recommend it to anyone that wants good food

This is my third time coming to this place and they haven’t failed me yet! Poutines are amazing

I order poutine, shawarma and 3 samosas. All the items are not good and the portion of samosas what we got for the worth of $9 is too bad. Please keep your tiny samosas in pics clearly, if customer orders it as a main course they will end up with empty stomach.

Just came here today got a big meal today. Great service and amazing food especially the poutines. The guys that work here are super friendly and calm. Would recommend to anyone if your in the area or looking for a good treat

This was our favourite restaurant. But the last three orders we made were disappointing. However, we did not post a bad review or comment about the restaurant because we thought they were inadvertent mistakes or individual actions. Still, the repetition of the same method is worrying. Three times, the shawarma dish, which contains rice, chicken shawarma, potatoes and salad, disgustingly comes to us, as the rice is old and dry, and the potatoes taste very bitter and dry, one cannot swallow it. And the shawarma is just fried chicken pieces in the frying pan, flavourless and dry and very few I can count them on my fingers, and the last time my husband and I were poisoned from food, we couldn't sleep the whole night because of this old shawarma. I do not advise anyone to deal with this restaurant, as it does not give the customer his right. The customer provides a lot of money and expects to get a delicious shawarma dish, but the opposite is what happens.

Fattoush salad is not a Fattoush salad! The one I ordered had the green and red peppers and the flat bread missing. When I called I was told they don't put the flat bread on it anymore. Which is what makes it a Fattoush salad. Regardless they were saying they could redo it with the other missing items by ordering a water on Skip The Dishes, which would include me paying an extra delivery and service fee, and putting a note about the salad.

I ordered off over eats I was very surprised how fresh the meal was I'm great quality being a Lebanese person the Ottawa city is oversaturated with swarm up so it's high competition kudos to this company Shawarma is very good year are highly recommended

Fantastic food. I've yet to try all the options here (haven't even looked at pizzas yet) but everything has been real nice. Poutines are amazing and re-heat really nice for subsequent meals. Staff is friendly and prices are great. I recommend the poutines, wings and the bacon cheese donair! I mostly do take-out but the space for dining in looks nice.

If you love poutine you gotta know this place. Shawarma too.

Location is little weird to be honest, we went on 30 mins drive to eat here from Nepean. It opens late and we went late. It was very quite and the food is amazing!

We ordered a classic poutine, wings with honey hot, a veggie pizza. All of them were really good and fresh made.

Will visit this place again!

Why does 5 small cheese sticks cost 9$?
Poutine is just mediocre like most of the places in Ottawa.

The family absolutely loves everything.

Our favorites is the on the rocks poutine (garlic potatoe poutine) it’s so delicious. And don’t forget to try the samosa’s. Maybe the best I’ve had in the city.

The shawarma is well flavoured. Nice crisp skin when you get the chicken shawarma. And I love it with the garlic sauce.

Delicious! I ordered the buffalo chicken poutine and the chick chunks were nice and crispy, although a few bites were fatty. I also got the donair sandwich (pita), which lets be honest, was more of a gyro because of the meat and how it was done. Also, the meat was pretty lacking, could have used much more (probably the saddest small donair I've ever had). The lemon-cello cheesecake was different but refreshing. Would definitely order from here again.

I order shawarma poutine late night through doordash and their drivers are relatively slow, but the food is always piping hot and delicious. Their poutine is out of this world and the best in town.

Amazing shawarma and a staff that cares about their customers. Part of my order couldn't be filled and I was contacted to make alternate choices. They could have not provided the items, but they went above and beyond we coming up with a solution.

I wish I could rate this establishment ZERO stars, Big H, and the H must stand for HORRIBLE. I work at one of the businesses next door and thought it would be a convenient place to go eat during my 30 minute break, I was DEAD WRONG. Went in to order a chicken shawarma trio after viewing the menu on their official website, price was listed 12.99$ for a large trio, went in at the counter and was charged 14.99$. 1st RED FLAG. The younger woman who took my order seemed flustered that she had to take my order and serve the customers dining-in at the same time. She had an insanely annoying tone of voice and I started to regret my decision to give this place my business, 2nd RED FLAG. It took them almost 25 minutes to get my food, and this women apologized to me 3 times as I was waiting, she must of realized it shouldn't have taken that long for such a small order. Note, the interior of this place is insanely run down, and looks like a construction zone.quite fitting for the majority of customers that are trades workers who just want to drink beer with their buddies. As I got back to my workplace with 1 minute to spare of my 30-minute break, I began to eat the shawarma which tasted like cardboard and sugar, since when was there a "sweet sauce" in a shawarma recipe, that is not what I meant by "all-dressed", 3rd RED FLAG. Big Horrible does not have the right to innovate the shawarma sandwich, especially when this place has changed owners 3 times in the last 3 years - according to the surrounding businesses. (one of the current co-owners "Achraf Houmani" was an OTTAWA POLICE INFORMANT, (A GOOD NEIGHBOURHOOD SNITCH) 4th RED FLAG. All in all, I ended up tossing the shawarma sandwich in the trash after 2 bites because the chicken was absolute garbage. I actually went vegan for 2 weeks straight after this experience, imagine making a customer change their diet after traumatizing them with a simple shawarma trio. At the time, I lost the appetite for the garlic potatoes right after tossing the sandwich, only decent part of the meal was the canned drink. Wasted my time, money, and appetite on this place. I dread having to go to work everyday passing by this dump of a "restaurant". Furthermore, There is a side door to this dump where the kitchen is located, almost every single worker smokes cigarettes in-between orders. AND DO NOT WEAR MASKS INSIDE THE KITCHEN, I also can't imagine these employees washing their hands for more than 5 seconds without soap 5th RED FLAG. A lot of the reviews for this dump seem to be friends and families of the owners and not actual customers 6th RED FLAG, very typical of the sort of place these people come from. I WILL NEVER SUPPORT THIS DUMP EVER AGAIN AND WILL TRY TO WARN THE CUSTOMERS WALKING IN AND OUT OF THIS DUMP ABOUT MY EXPERIENCE HERE, HOPEFULLY THEY THEY GET THEIR BUSINESS AND LIQUOR LICENSES REVOKED FOR MALPRACTICE AND VIOLATING EVERY ASPECT OF RUNNING A CLEAN RESTUARANT.

Big H has been my greatest addiction! I've tried everything on their menu, and I can honestly say, they do not disappoint! Not only do the staff have amazing customer service, but their food is always fresh, and you can taste the great quality with every bite!

I took an out of town family member here for poutine, by recommendation of a friend. The staff was super friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Our poutine was FRICKEN AMAZING! I got the vegetarian toppings, with extra mushroom and onion, garlic sauce on the side it was TO DIE FOR. My family member got the butter chicken poutine with jalapenos and spicy garlic sauce. Awesome portion sizes, we couldn't finish it in the restaurant so we had to take it home. Overall, awesome experience, will be my go to poutine place from now on.

Ordered this for the first time a week ago at around 2AM because there wasn't much options. I wasn't expecting the food to be that great but boy was I wrong! I had it again last night and it was delicious! I won't be eating a shawarma platter anywhere else from now on. The chicken is perfectly charred but not dry, the donair is very flavorful and last but not least. The best rice in town! Every other shawarma place has bland rice but this Riz was seasoned to perfection! Go support these guys, they deserve it!

Great place! The food is really tasty and the service is very good! I came couple times and really liked their versions of Poutine and Shawarmas. A little plus: they have a very nice patio. Would definitely recommand. Bravo!

Literally never disappointed with the quality of late night snacks. My hubby and I are a huge fan of the poutine! Plus we just found out we could eat their chicken wings! Ottawa needed this restaurant, ty! You guys are amazing!

It was five minutes later than expected but, oh boy a mountain of food super fresh, totally worth the wait, two portions.
Okay so got seconds, no choice when that good! Timing was fixed or less busy, went a third time and it was perfect, hands down best chicken shawarma in town.

The portion is abundant and the food is tasty! Totally worth the price and the wait.not only their meat but their rice and garlic potatoes are yummies as well! Also, they sometimes gave me complimentary falafels so I will keep ordering from them for sure!

Order a "Big H Platter" and the donair had actually 2 slices of beef in her. Glad I ordered an extra garlic tater on top of the platter. Loll would of went to sleep hungry for like 30 bucks at the door. Less than one star if possible

Fairly new to Ottawa, but I found this place that is a 5 minute drive from my house.
I have been back every week since I first went. Food is tasty and well made. Service is always friendly. Makes for an overall enjoyable experience.

As a Lebanese person I approve of this amazing restaurant's food, authenticity and warm hospitality. Highly recommended.

Absolutely the Best poutine in Ontario. I rediscovered this place a few months ago late on a Friday night watching movies, My brother in law being from out of town wanted an Ottawa famous shawarma and I wanted a poutine. The only thing open was Big H around the corner low and behold with a top menu item - the Shawarma Poutine. It was legendary when it came in! Absolutely huge portions! It was the best thing I had ever eaten in Ottawa. You have to try one. If you’re reading this you should stop what you’re doing and just order one instead. But I warn you now, you’ll be hooked. Everyone I show this shawarma poutine to says it’s mind blowing. You may even become addicted and try everything on the menu. Guess what? It’s all amazing. Enjoy!

This place has definitely become my favourite in such a short amount of time. These guys are so friendly and cook with love.each bite you taste every blend of flavour, love and passion. I’ve been a chef for 11 years and this place definitely deserves 5 stars as thee best. They put as much passion in their food as they do about caring about people. Every time I am so excited to see them and talk to them! These men always go above and beyond every day! They deserve thee best in life! I recommend 1000000%.

Just got a poutine from this place through door dash. Only 2 reviews, so i was skeptic. Ordered largest donair +meat and onions. Almost 50$ with tip. I still proceeded, still very skeptic. Dasher drops it at door. Pick it up and it’s at least 8 lbs.impressed at this point. Open it up and it looks amazing. Gravy covering everything and layered with it. I live in Greenboro, unless you want shawarma or Thai. It’s where food goes to die. I’m pretty picky on poutines, but my wife after a few glasses of wine is the worst critic. She grabs one fork full and Her only comment. “they actually care about us”.

I ordered a mixed shawarmar plate and jalapeño peppers, the salad in the plate was a little bit too salty but everything else is tasty to me.

We just ordered tonight the familly platter for 4 with a poutine and a special request for my pregant wife and I must say and I dont usually leave or take the time to write a review, but I just stuffed my face with 2 sandwich with some poutine and ITS THE BEST IVE HAD, it beats every where else, a must try!
