Love this place. The staff are always pleasant and courteous. The staff run it well and efficient - common dishes usually take under a min to be in front of you after ordering!
I usually just have the plain egg noodles and my parents usually have the egg noodles with wonton or dumplings (one is shrimp only and the other has meat mixed with shrimp, in case you are wondering you wondering what the difference is). The egg noodle is best eaten fresh on the spot, especially mixed with red vinegar and their delicious hot sauce.
My only feedback is that the dumplings / wontons are huge and can get stuffy (feedback from my mom) and if they can consider making the wonton / dumpling smaller, it will help.
Saw this place on two “top wonton places in Toronto” articles so I decided to try it myself. With high expectations, I hoped it would meet it and yes it did. The wontons are as big as advertised. Plump and flavourful shrimps filled. Surprisingly, the soup dumplings were even larger and just as tasty. Our group had both and well as the beef brisket with wonton and noodles. Needless to say we were quite satisfied. Seats around 40, clean and parking in the front lot. Friendly quick service. Decor is classic oriental style. Lots of good luck greetings, lucky kitty and signs throughout. Prices are good. Would recommend for wonton/noodles craving. Only open from 9am till 6: 30 pm everyday.
We always buy their raw dumplings and shrimp wonton to have it at home. But if you dine in, their egg noodle with wonton/dumplings are affordable, less than $15. And the chili oil is so good, gives real kick. Personally I like the dumplings as they have mushroom, meat and shrimp.
Make sure to check their closing time as they closed pretty early at 7pm.
The food was hearty and delicious. The ingredients were fresh and the staff were very kind. I really would recommend for a nice warm meal to fill your belly on a cold or hot day.
Been eating here all my life and it's literally my favorite restaurant of all time. Actually amazing. The Beef brisket noodle and shrimp wonton is a must eat
Big Trio makes probably the best shrimp wonton noodle soup in all of GTA. It’s a very unassuming and hidden gem. I heard this location was also the first and original.
With golf ball sized shrimp wontons, these noodle soups are just around $9/bowl. Talk about cheap eats but delicious! If you are in the east end and looking for a bowl of comfort, this is the place.
We dropped by for a quick lunch, the best Won-Ton soup in town, exceedingly quick service, large won-ton with oversized shrimps, excellent chili hot sauce too.
Hong Kong style noodle soup restaurant. Great place for a quick bite. Simple menu and tasty soup. The wontons and dumplings are huge and delicious. Service was friendly and fast.
Definitely one of the best wonton noodle restaurant in Toronto. Price is reasonable, food is always fresh and done perfectly. Been eating here for over 20 years now.
Dishonest shop. Tried to charge us extra $5. No descriptions in the receipt. When we confronted her, the staff just said something we didn't order. We were the only table there. I dont think it's a pure mistake.
Oh you have to go to this store and try all their soups and dumplings; all very big servings and very tasty; and it’s all homemade, you can see staffs doing the dumplings in the store.
I’ve been a regular at this location for over 15 years. I’ve introduced so many family and friends and they’ve also become regulars. This place is hands down the best wontons in the GTA.
Hot noodles that hit the spot on a cold Toronto day. Reasonably priced but now at $8. The dumplings are plump with a couple of shrimps in them and paste. They close early though at 6: 30pm. Servers are a little overbearing, as soon as you sit down, they expect you to order already. In turn, they come out with your noodles ready in mere minutes.
The wonton noodle was really good. The wonton was full of shrimp. The cuttle fish ball was very fresh and bouncy. It's really a great place to enjoy a bowl of noodle.
This place is excellent if you want your food served fresh and very quick! The shrimp wonton are always stuffed with shrimp and are huge! The portion is always consistent. The wonton noodle soup includes 4 wontons.
Hand cut noodles in the most delicious broth with some beef brisket. Sure made my day. They also have fresh shrimp wontons that will knock your socks off. Everything there is delicious.
Not pricey, nice food. Taste great, big shrimpsss in the dumpling. Must taste their chili oil prepared on the table. Don't take too much, you can't hold it!
I used to come here at 4 as an afternoon snack. I loved their fried sauce noodle until they changed their recipe. The day after I saw how dirty they are I stopped going. There are two waitress separating the raw noodles from a box into different portion. Can’t remembered if they wear gloves. Then, one of the waitress helped as a cashier, clean the floor then, without washing the hands go back and help on the noodles! The tea they provided sometimes turned sour specially at summer time.
If you are only coming for the wonton noodle soup, then you won't be disappointed. I would though avoid the beef brisket as that is really really fatty, unless that is exactly what you are looking for. I have gone to numerous locations of this chain and I find this location to be worst in value. Take out will give you smaller portions, so you have been warned.
Went for lunch and my stomach is still hurting this evening. The broth was odd.something was off and weird tasting. What made me nauseated was the fact that after eating the dumplins and leaving the broth, I asked the waitress what was in the shrimp dumplins and she said Pork and Shrimp. I almost died. I don't eat pork. So gross. How are these advertised as Shrimp wontons and they are pork filled? ! First and last.
The best wontons in the city! The size and freshness of the shrimps in the wontons are like no other. My family and l have been eating here at least once a week for the past 20 years. They have always delivered consistent dishes. They wrap the wontons in-house on a daily basis. Must have with the hot chilli oil.
Very neat and welcoming place. They offer large meals and for reasonable prices. I loved the meals a lot and the waiters were super attentive and explanatory. Will definitely recommend this restaurant.
Trusted place to get your wanton noodles. Prices have gone up in recent times. But if you want your wanton hit, can't go wrong with Wanton Chai. Friendly service.
Had won ton and siu gow noodles soup - although the dumplings were very large, the quality was not as it used to be - more filling, texture was mushyish and the soup tasted too sweet.
Super fast, relatively inexpensive lunch spot. They are known for their large wontons. This company is a chain and has stores around the GTA. The other locations tasted better than this one, but still good.
Busy little restaurant that has limited menu items. The service was quick and friendly and our shrimp wonton with beef brisket was a absolute pleasure. Definitely will be going back.
