Interesting designs and a good variety of houses. Some were away for maintenance but there were still many to view. Be careful of ticks and stay on the mowed paths.

This is a unique stop (you can even see it from the road). Walk by the unique birdhouses. Some have qr codes to scan, but I didn't try.

Such a cool place. Went here with the kids and they had fun looking at all the birdhouses and running around which was also great since they tired themselves out.

Some of the parking fees go towards the upkeep of the birdhouses and the area as well as we found out after going which made us feel much better about paying for parking there.

Many, many birdhouses of all descriptions. Few birds at this time of year, all probably fledged. Parking is 6.00 and includes the somewhat overgrown Conservation Area.

Good location to explore on your own. Birdhouses are quirky and need time to view completely. Surroundings are pretty barren, do not visit during rain or snow because the walkways are not paved.

This place is an excellent location to observe miniature birdhouses. In addition, it is worth mentioning that Birdhouse City in Prince Edward County is a must-visit for any bird enthusiast. It is a unique outdoor art exhibit featuring over 100 birdhouses, each with its own distinctive design and theme. Visitors can learn about different bird species and their habitats while admiring the creativity and craftsmanship of the birdhouses.

Unfortunately, there is a drawback to this location, as the cost of paid parking is quite high, and the website seems to have some functionality issues. Despite our intention of only spending an hour or so there, the website repeatedly prompted us to pay for a minimum of three hours, which seemed unjustified.

Super cute idea! All the birdhouses were special and unique. A few were in bad shape. I’m curious how often the birds nest in these…

A very neat little place to visit on your way through Picton. It's very peaceful and serene. There are so many bird houses to see that it's hard to pick a favourite!

Great collection of birdhouses here! Although you cannot find birds actually dwelling there. Good time to spend here for a quick stop by!

Really cool bird houses. If you are looking for something easy to go do, there is a bird house that should interest everyone in your group. Walking on grass but nicely cut when we walked it. Some bird houses are missing maybe out for repairs I hope! But most are works of art!

Pleasant place to walk around. Nice eating area on the other side with some wildlife. Not much more, bit of something to do in the countryside.

Scanning the QR codes on the birdhouses was very informative and made the experience more full. Great historical information. I would have liked to seen the QR codes on more of the birdhouses.

Très spécial a voir, je n’avais jamais vu quelque chose de ce type auparavant! L’endroit vaut la peine si c’est sur votre chemin, mais je ne crois pas que ça vaille la peine de faire un gros détour pour y aller.
25 September 2021 14:21
Could be a real tourist attraction but not kept up nor are there cut pathways between all the bird houses
11 September 2021 10:03
Cant really rate, decided not to go in because looked really uninviting, signage was awful which added to our lack of interest

This is such a special spot! My hat goes off to "friends of birdhouse city" and all that crafted these unique bird houses!
26 August 2021 6:40
Interesting place with many different birdhouses. Nice picnic spot but be careful of the bugs. Parking cost is $5 and has to be paid through the app "pay by phone".

If you want to see some birds or get inspired to build your own bird houses this is a great place to visit. While you are there be sure to explore the trails of McCauley Mountain park. Beautiful!

We did not spend alot if time looking at the birdhouses. We did enjoy the long hike straight up the hill. We recommend the yellow trail. It get confusing at the top just switch to the green trail. Some wet places if you stay at the bottom. If you have splash pants on the hills are steep enough you can get down quite quickly on your butt. I enjoyed it.

Lol very cool spot here showcasing these amazing little miniature birdhouses. Literally little houses. There are so many different ones and I believe some of them are replicas of various structures in Picton and Prince Edward County. It’s worth a visit. Very odd though that I never did see any birds while I was there.

That’s an amazing idea, just so sad that it is all neglected and no one seems to take care of it anymore. Hope this place will come back to life!
25 October 2020 12:32
Great place to park and snowshoe.only downside is I just noticed a sign and was told you have to pay to park. Won't be paying to park here.will walk from another area in future.
24 September 2020 9:34
Such a cool place and I feel so sorry that has been neglected. I hope they fix it, cause I have never seen anything like it and would be a great attraction for visitors.

Nice and interesting art project. Lots of parking though its paid parking, more than I would want to pay to walk through 3.5km of the adjoining conservation park. (5$ / day) but it is for a good cause.
The conservation park trails are a little overgrown but amount to a nice little stroll. Very enjoyable. (* This years drought has made the creek very dry)
Nice alternative or add on to visiting Picton Main.

Definitely interesting. It's a bit worn down. It would be nice to see the community rejuvenate the little houses
26 October 2019 10:12
Such a cute and unique place! I got excited when I passed the sign that said bird house city. Got to stop by on our way back and I'm glad we did:)

Plenty of space for a family outing/hike. Trail connected to a heritage house which is beautiful. The trails go UPHILL, very steep. Very muddy and icy this time of year. Birdhouse city is large and well kept! Very cute.
22 October 2019 19:07
If you like birdhouses then I guess this is interesting. Else it is worth a 5 minute stop. The nearby walking trail is nice.
19 October 2019 10:11
A great place to stretch your legs and there are lots of interesting looking birdhouses to take in. A county treasure for sure.
05 October 2019 6:45
Cool spot to check out! The designs are fantastic. Easy to spend ~30 minutes or so before heading out for a hike at macaulay. Some of them are broken down or missing, but there’s over 100 unique bird houses to check out!
05 October 2019 6:07
It was way to icy to do the hiking we wanted but the bird houses were a good distraction. Most are in poor condition and a few have blown right over.but it was like walking through an odd sort of graveyard and that was ok
01 October 2019 18:54
Bird house city and the Macaulay Mountain Conservation area situated next to it are incredible. Exploring either can be a great activity for families or anyone really who wants to explore nature and get a look at some of Prince Edward County's wildlife. I would absolutely recommend it for a day hike, and you can come back multiple times because there are many different trails to choose from.
28 September 2019 18:58
Cool little place that's been around forever!
It's a Picton staple.and a great place to visit.
It's a once a year attraction for us!
24 September 2019 9:51
Very unique park. It is worth the visit if you haven't been here as it is an interesting community project. Unfortunately many of the bird houses are rundown and could use some attention.
21 September 2019 22:10
If you've been stuck in a car and need to stretch your legs, or you are interested in or are familiar with Prince Edward County's historic buildings, or you appreciate woodworking and or you enjoy strolling around 20 or so bird houses then Birdhouse City is for you. They are perched 10ft to 15ft above ground which means they can be viewed from underneath or from a distance. Meh. I gave it a 5star rating for what it is but personally, I don't need to return.
21 September 2019 8:18
Great little stop full or gorgeous birdhouses. Super cute, guaranteed to make you smile. Certainly worth a stop.
15 September 2019 21:48
Not impressed that the trails were washed out and no signs posted. Kids and adults ended up with very wet feet

A cute place for great insta photos and a good spot for short stopover during trip to prince edward county
