Bistro Manila

I just went there and it was terrible. We ordered several food and it was all bad. The fried calamari had an inch of batter, the pork sisig was swimming in oil, and the fried chicken had too much MSG it was overwhelming. I don't know where they got the vocalist for the live band but he was out of tune the whole night and the guitarist kept inappropriately staring at one of the girls in our group to the point that she got so uncomfortable and unsafe she voiced out her concerns to the management but they didn't do anything and so he just kept on staring.

Went there last night and had pancit canton and crispy pata.

I was with my partner and we were asking ourselves whether we were served the wrong order of pancit.

Maybe it’s just their version of pancit canton but never have we had one that is soupy. It had crispy pork, shrimp and some veggies which can be said of pancit canton. But soupy? We thought it was like lomi. Also kind of salty for our taste although we already put fresh lemon which is included.

The crispy pata is good just like it should.

Maybe we’ll come back to try again. The service is very good; they were not busy at the time.

Great live bands. Amazing food. And servers are magnificently friendly and and on top of their game. Highly recommend for a good time

Bit disappointed, my first time ordering from there (afternoon on a weekday - not busy by any means). I should have taken the before photo of the lumpia I ordered for take out, when I bit into it it was undercooked (based primarily on texture, and appearance). I called and advised that I would be coming back and if they can replace it with a new one. When I came back, showed them the lumpia they agreed, and took it back. The photo below is what I received - which looks like a refried/ burnt version of what I returned.

Giving it a 2 star because the sisig is decent and enjoyed eating it. Recommendation to their service staff, when a customer has to come back and return food, wait again for the food they already paid + tipped for, consider compensation through food or something on the house to offset dissatisfaction.

Was just at Bistro Manila tonight looking forward to great music and food, however, it didn't turn out well. Right from the get go the waitress gave us a booth closest to the door where we would not have been able to see the band. There was only a handful of people there, but they said all the tables were reserved. We left upset and very hungry but decided to call them once outside to see if we could reserve a table. It turns out that there are no reservations after 9: 00; we were there at 9pm. We talked to the manager about it and she said there has been problems with some of the staff basically discriminating against some people. Suffice to say, we will not go there ever again. Its sad because I was there many years ago and I only had good memories being there. I pray they will change, but unfortunately it's too late for us.

Good Food. Love the atmosphere and the live band. I am definitely recommend this place for everyone.

Friendly staff, very accommodating in terms of pick up. Requested for an early pick up than scheduled time and was able to accommodate. Great service.

The sarabasab dish was new to my palate and it was good. However, I didn’t like the garlic rice, it wasn’t the typical garlic rice back home. The pork sisig was a surfeit of crunchy pork skin. It would’ve tasted better if mixed with meat on it.

We came in at around 7: 30 pm on Sep. 14,2022 for dinner to celebrate my wife's 68th birthday. There were 3 couples (total of 6 adults, 2 were seniors) and my 5-year old grandson. Food were all great but service was not. Learned that our server's name was May. She missed to include 2 orders (sisig and tokwa't baboy) which came very late. We thought it was already being cooked but when verified, they were not in the orders. She also was not very responsive to our calls. Several times we were raising our hands to call her attention but it looked like she's always at a distance and ignoring our calls. Also, she served us with an almost empty catsup bottle and when we asked for new ones, she gave two additional almost-empty catsup bottles which rendered us "bitin" when using them to garnish our tasty foods. There was even not enough napkins. When asked about the schedules of live performers and karaoke, she told us that live bands are for weekends only and karaoke is on weekdays. But she did not even bother to ask if we want to try karaoke for that night because it's a weeknight. My grandson should have been overheard by her when he was greeting his Lola with Happy Birthday several times on the top of his voice and I was expecting our server to take some kind of initiative to verify about it but she seemed to be indifferent. I was expecting even a slight curiosity from her (May) to find out if it was really her birthday, maybe just a small gesture of offering a very small cake as a token just like what other restaurants were doing by being resourceful for impromptu situations. And your restaurant is not kid-friendly. My daughter asked May if you have a booster seat or a high chair for my 5-year old grandson and the answer was negative. Your server (s) should be more PROACTIVE to satisfy your customers not just with your great food but more importantly service-wise as well.

Had a great time at Bistro Manila! I do not eat Filipino food often, but was pleasantly surprised by the hospitality, food, and warmth of the atmosphere. We had the Pork Sisig and the Pancit noodle dish. Both were very delicious and affordable with the big portions.

I definitely welcome others to come try!

We celebrated my friend’s birthday with Bistro Manila! M, sobrang sulit and sarap ng food! It feels like home on your table! We super love this filipinonrestaurant that caters “LASANG PINOY! ” You really know na filipino nagluto coz legit na legit ang flavors of the philippines! Super happy with this restaurant for catering our best foods from the philippines! Babalik balikan mo talaga!

Had a great time here! A good mix of awesome vibe, excellent music with the live band, jamming crowd and scrumptious food! Definitely coming back!

Had the garlic rice, liempo, lechon kawali and the pork sisig. All were so good. Love this place!

Place is great for late night eats. Live band on Fridays and Saturdays. Staff are very friendly with everyone in my group. We celebrated my cousin's birthday there and it was just pure good times. Food was amazing especially the sarabasab and sisig. I would come back again.

The waitresses here are nice, fast service, and the water here is nice, better than fiji… Would come back again…

We Arrived at around midnight noticed that there were hardly any customers and alot of empty tables we were told that we had to scan a QR code to see the menu felt this was strange and could be problematic especially for people who are not tech savvy or the more elderly or simply dont have use to thier phone. Ordered the rice combo fried chicken and 6 bottle beer bucket kinda got a smug attitude for just ordering a combo but explained to the server we just had eaten before going and were not really that hungry. The food finally came rice was ok fried egg was something you would get at some high school cafeteria but the fried chicken was the biggest disappointment was beyond way over cooked hard as. A rock the skin of the chicken was extremely dry.so decided to order the seafood platter another server brought the platter which was swimming in A plate of sauce it was more like seafood Platter soup and the fried calamari seemed more like onion rings and the server did not clear our plates and cutlery we used for the fried rice combo and replace them with clean dishes so we had used dirty dishes and cutlery on our table finally our original server asked if we wanted new plates this should not even been asked and should have been done without hesitation.finally after some 10 minutes the server brought new plates and cutlery. At 1 am was told was last call for ordering food felt this was strange as most restaurants and bars would have thier kitchen open until closing this just showed me the cook didnt care and was just too lazy. Finally our bill came and was charged a $11 per person live band cover charge for a band that was just basically doing Karaoke with instruments and was charged an automatic 10% gratuity.
No establishment should ever charge an automatic gratuity fee unless it's a large group or it's an 5 star establishment otherwise it should be left up to the consumer. Hopefully management and ownership will learn from this and become more engaged on what's happening in thier establishment especially in the kitchen and learn to interact with the customers and develop a rapport with them making them feel important and at home and they realize one unsatisfied customer means hundreds of lost customers as that one customer tells one person and that person tells another person and so on and so on

Great food and great music! If you want to experience the nightlife in the Philippines, Bistro Manila is the place!

Owner is very nice! He actually remembers every costumer that comes and go! Food is really good as well we usually order chicken inasal and grilled pork belly. Prices have gone up but servings stayed the same! Most restaurants has less amount while you pay more. They have more food it’s just the inasal and pork belly is the favourite since It’s good pulutan!

Rip off overpriced venue stay away. Food was absolutely terrible. One of the workers dropped a drink all over my friends pants and they did not apologise. My friend got food poisoned from there food. They are ripping people off on the bill non shallantly until we noticed and caught them. Also I would strongly advise not to flood your peanuts with salt. It taste like a disaster last time and absolutelyy ridiculous and I could see someone having a stroke or heart attack from it if they have enough. We will never return. They used to offer bottles now they are not and overcharging ripping people off. We will never return. Stay away from this place. They overcharge on the bill and they smile at your face and do sneaky unethical busines behavious Thanks!

Bistro manila has a great vibe! Good food and great service. I especially love the sisig and sarabasab. I came when December Avenue dinned with them. They were reallh busy but hence the rush it was great. Servers were very respectful. And always had great smile.

Ever since we stayed here in Canada we are always longing for legit filipino food! Then we found this highly rated filipino resto in toronto! Grbe namiss ko bigla pinas! Their classic filipino food are far delicious from our home cooked meals! Nkakamiss yung mga restaurant s pinas but Bistro Manila brings home on your table! Shoutout for the sisig! Legit! Super sarap! This is the place where you want to always comeback!

Love dancing, and they bring in my special brand. They have karaoke almost everyday and live band! Great crowd.

Bistro Manila is such a fun place to hangout both with family and friends. Ambiance, people, service are all top notch! But the best part is, the FOOD, omg Crispy pork sisig, Sarabasab, Chicken inasal, Crispy pata and Lechon kawali are amongst my top favorites! Their own take on the Buttered chicken and Seafood platter is also the bomb! Has a wide variety on bottled beers and cocktails too. Price is also amazing for the quality and quantity of food and service, overall

We were there over long weekend and one of staff was very rude though we called in advance advising and we had to wait over 30 min though couple of tables were not occupied. Surprisingly the prices of everything is so high now and they dont offer bottle service anymore. Our bill was so expensive My God. They should at least include lots of free nuts n snacks for a party of 5-6 people was my sons bday. We got there before live music and we were still charged for live band cover which is not quite right especially our bill over $4-$500. Very greedy money hungry filipino management taking advantage of there filipino community. Not good. The Sisinog dish and pancit dish was absolutely terrible. Another woman manager came to check and she started harassing yelling at her own staff over something very unprofessional and nearly put my sons daughters kid in danger with a hot skillet dish that she was holding with one hand and no propery tray. We got very bad vibes from this place we will not return sorry. We also heard from other people that they add extra items to bills because they know there own people dont check bills much so they take advantage. Unbelieve.

Had the chicken wings. $15.00 for a pound. Expensive, but ever where around the same price.

Live band okay. Only saw one set.

Very dissappointing experience. Absolutely terrible food. Service was sub par at best. We were overcharged significantly and they don't offer bottles anymore which is ridiculous. We have been many times over the years and our group will never return. We were there celebrating my mom's anniversary. Everythings a rip off now so never again.

Food is great unfortunately service is terrible not very friendly! Cover charge that shouldn’t be part of it when you go in for dinner
