Bistro Six One

We went on a casual drive to NOTL and were damn hungry. This place was busy but had good number of seatings, so found a place quickly. Great food. Loved the short varieties and their ability to customise veggie options for my wife and son. Great drinks and right quantity. Service by Hanna was great and price was nominal. Would visit again!

- Parking is difficult to find on weekends, and you need to register your license plate and pay for each hour y stay on the parks or the village, which is in fact beautiful.
- Food and service was good, as well as expedite.

The pasta was like canned food and so cold, asked the waitress to warm it up. The pizza was so average. I won’t recommend the place if you want to enjoy a meal with family. It

It was not that bad but the hamburger was so good. Pizza was also not bad. And the worst was the pasta. It was bad that I could not eat, also the sauce didn't taste well

Reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Lovely food. Why only a 3? Our chicken florentine contained a piece of broken bone. Things happen so it wasn't the end of the world, but when we gave it to our server to let the kitchen know we were surprised that no management nor chef/ cook came to see us. We hadn't made a fuss. Hadn't asked for a reduction in our bill so we found it dismissive and indifferent that the issue wasn't worth coming to our table to discuss.

The worst service I've ever experienced and equally as terrible pizza. The only impressive thing about this restaurant is how they managed to simultaneous undercook and burn a pizza at the same time. The waitress seemed irritated from the moment we were seated and barely acknowledged us at all, had to request for her to check in on us from another waitress. Over all bad attitude for seemingly no reason, practially dropped our plates down in front of us, and made the entire experience really awkward with her cold attitude, saw her on her phone a lot and mingling with staff. Saw a family walk in and try to sit down, a staff member scolded them and made them go stand by the door for 5 minutes despite the restaurant being practically empty and most of the staff was just standing by the bar. I understand that the policy is to wait to be seated but it almost seemed like they made them wait on purpose as a punishment for trying to seat themselves. Then proceeded to sit them at the same clean table they were just at 5 minutes prior. Our entire table was buisness owners and I literally could never imagine treating customers in this way. Would never return even if offered a free three course meal.

Excellent pizza at Niagara on the Lake. The perfect place to grab a bite as you walk the streets in the beautiful little town.

Terrible service. They don't communicate with you and we sat there waiting at the door for 20min without knowing what their plan was

Not bad for the family's first experience at this establishment. My wife and oldest son really enjoyed the burgers. The pizzas myself and my younger son ordered tasted like they were pre frozen. Another issue we had was that we were not able to add extra toppings to the pizzas we ordered, which is something the family is not used to when ordering pizza. Other than the pizza issue, overall, the environment of the restaurant was very nice, and the service from the staff was professional and great.

Hands down worst meal for all 7 members of our party last weekend. Best I can say about the food is tasteless. Curry chicken - dry, dry, dry, raw vegetables, very little resemblance to what chicken curry should be. Blandest pasta. Stay far, far away from the bacon potato pizza. It was pretty empty for a Saturday night & now I understand why. Surprising to encounter such a dud in NOTL.

Wonderful experience, great local wine selection, great service by Sean, he was wonderful. His wine recommendations were spot on. We both had the pizza, excellent all round.

Are sever was super sweet! Food was delicious and filled us up could have any of delicious dessert! Good place to eat!

Food was a bland as it could be. Even the pizzas were bad. How can you make bad pizza?
Also, they closed over an hour earlier than it's posted online (9pm) so they rushed us out of there.

From the outside they display a nice wood oven pizza but it turns out, it’s nothing like in the picture. The dough was uncooked, not crispy but smoochy. It didn’t even look like it was coming out from a wood oven…

Fast service. Food tastes super average and almost blend in favor. They served kids pasta soaking in its boiling water, which I asked them to drain and bring it back. Do not recommend their onion soup it was so watery. Pizza was average.

Bistro Six One was absolutely perfect. A young man greeted us almost immediately and got us a nice patio table. The server was right there with menus and ice waters on a hot afternoon. She was friendly and charming, answering questions with ease.

If you are a fan of vegetables, go for the chicken curry. Great flavor and like 12 different vegetables. Sauce was a mild coconut and not sweet. Nice fluffy basmati rice. Nice change of pace for a veggie starved and weary traveler. Salad was apparently good as was the pizza with potato and bacon. Local wines were a nice touch. One traveler had the Chardonnay (good) and I tried a semi-sweet Riesling (excellent).

Could not have asked for better!

Average food (pizza bland, Brie cheese very bland) and service. The reason for this one star is the leftovers were packaged super poorly (2 meals in the same box that made everything spill and ruined quite a bit of food we were planning to eat later) and the berry sauce was chucked in there without a lid - so just by walking with it to the car it spilled out the box and bag and all over my white outfit. When I asked the server for something to help get the stains out she laughed and said they never put lids on the takeout sauce - so do not order anything with a lid for takeout. No offer to comp or do anything for ruining a white outfit was done.

Everything was good until this staff member called Bell (big and tall guy) tried to play dump! After he took our order (for 6 persons, without using a note pad and was showing off that his memory is good enough to memorize all what we asked for) he placed an extra drink that we did not ask for, and missed a drink that we ordered! Not an issue, at the time of payment, I paid in cash plus a good tip then I realized that these 2 extras drinks still there, I tried to explain to him that we did not receive these 2 drinks, thus should be removed from the invoice, he removed one after long argument and he insisted we received the other one! I told him I am sure we did receive this drink but he insisted: “ I am 100% sure that you took it! He made a big scene and he went to the table and asked my 8 years old son whether he received the drink or not! Seriously? ! The tip I paid to him is more than triple the cost of that drink! What a shame! His attitude was so rude and unprofessional! He also tried to kick me off the restaurent and send me out in a rude way!

This staff doesn’t have the minimum customer service and communication skills with the tourists and is not qualified to work in this place and this location! So disappointing.

Amazing pizza! That's the most important part! The line outside is for people who want to sit outside. What a waste of time. Inside had more than half of the tables free while the people outside waiting in the line were awkwardly staring at the outside patrons secretly hoping they would finish their meals quickly so they could take a seat. Just go inside and grab a table so you can eat their delicious pizza even faster! The servers and bartenders are all very chill. This is a must stop for pizza lovers!

The worst kind of experience we could get at a restaurant. Firstly the pizza was sub-standard, no flavor for that price.

Secondly, in spite of their interior restaurant and outdoor patio being practically empty we were asked multiple times to not sit down anywhere. It was 40 degrees outside and we were waiting for our order for 20 minutes outside in the heat. The least humanitarian treatment we could have gotten would be to let us at least sit down at one of the multiple empty seats.

What kind of restaurant policy is this to not let take-out customers take a seat anywhere? Are we not paying for the food? Or are we paying any lesser than dine-in customers or are we asking for a free seat?

Reconsider your policies or train your staff better before providing such treatment to your customers!

I tried this place last weekend while visiting Niagara on the lake. The food and the service are average. Not too bad nor too good.

Nice, cool restaurant. Comfortable and well appointed space. The waitress was professional and managed everything perfectly. Wood fired pizza was nice. A little thicker dough compared to other such places. Decent value.

Oven pizza was delicious, BBQ chicken pizza has right tasting BBQ sauce for me, son love his pepperoni pizza. Service has good, our server was really good taking that he was dealing with rude table next to as.

The title Bistro, represents simplified french cuisine with delicious foods and more importantly soul. This place is not a bistro, it’s quality is somewhere between Tim Hortons and Jack Astors. Food absolutely taste bad.
I hope there will be some regulations with titles, like Restaurants, Bistro’s and so on!

My favorite place for lunch in Niagara-on-the-Lake! The food tastes good and there's plenty of space inside, which is good for families.

Server was friendly and did a good job. Food was terrible though. Ordered the cajun dry rub wings and they were mushy and fatty. I don't even think they were fully cooked. The onion rings were good but the dipping sauce was gross. Wouldn't eat here again.

Their BBQ chicken pizza is delicious but it’s not a bbq taste you expect. It tastes like a mild salsa sauce. They explained that their bbq sauce is home made and it’s not similar to a regular bbq sauce. I think they should add this on the menu!

Trouts is also was poorly flavoured.

We were a party of 10 and one the hosts was very rude with us, we let her know that we were all vaccinated she just wanted to let half of our party waiting outside while they were talking in the kitchen. We kindly asked to her to let them come inside and she answered very rude that that’s the rules and if we don’t like it we can go. She is just a racist person as we were Latin Americans and we were speaking in Spanish.other people with big parties waited inside to show their Id and vaccine certificate.this is extremely rude and racist, and on top of that she screamed to us happy new year.

The stars for the service, the service was good, but the food was horrible, I ordered fall rack ribs, some parts was cold while other parts was warm, seemed not well reheated, the fries looked like the frozen ones from grocery, the worst was the coleslaw, I had one bite and tasted disgusting, then I smelled it, it was totally spoiled, can’t believe a restaurant giving the spoiled food to their customers. The waitress replaced it with a small bowl of garden salad then, which was good. But it ruined my day, soooo disappointed…

Food was very good, the restaurant was nice and cozy. Service can improve. Our server didn't even greet us, not friendly at all and at the end just dropped the check and the debit machine, didn't even say a word. I don't think we will go back, maybe order for take out, because like I said the food was good.

Not my favourite hamburger, and I was expecting more of the pizza, but it was really normal not even good to recommend

French onion soup was great although a touch salty. Caesar salad and French fries very tasty. Pepperoni pizza was good however a bit greasy for my liking. Ironwood cider amazing.bloody caesar not so much

The service was good. We were seated quickly, received our drinks right away, and food came out in a good amount of time. The best part of our experience was our server.

The food was average. We ordered two pizzas and the Calabrese salad.

The pizzas were very mediocre. We were excited about having it from a wood fired oven, but it fell flat. Nothing special about the crust or toppings. Very basic from someone who loves pizza.

The Calabrese salad was good. It's a simple dish, but still tasty. The downfall was the disappointing amount of bocconcini.

Went on a wine tour on Niagara On-The-Lake with a few friends and before we drove back to the city we stopped by Bistro Six One for dinner. We didn’t make any reservations but were seated right away (there was 6 of us). Service was really fast. Staff was really friendly. I got a Mediterranean Veggie pizza, it was really cheesy and delicious. Vibes of the place was really nice. Recommend stopping by here if you’re looking for some yummy pizza!

We ate a margarita pizza and a white sauce spaghetti pasta. The pizza sauce was very sour to taste and the pizza was underbaked. While the pasta was very watery. The service was ok with the rush. But would definitely not recommend going here

Bad service, we wait to be seat 10 min when nobody was there, 20 min for the staff to take our order, and bad coffee

Quaint spot with comfy food. The real charm of this place though was our waiter who gave us EXCELLENT service. Very satisfied with our experience.

Great restaurant, walking distance from the Pillar and Post Spa where we were staying. We shared the Panko Crusted Brie for an appetizer then my wife had the Coconut Curry Chicken and I had the Lamb Shank. All the dishes were fantastic!

Excellent - great fish tacos! We had the chicken Fettuccine, and it was pretty awesome! We asked for a little more seasoning, then it was a masterpiece ️

Updatingbmy previous review. I had been to this place in 2019 and koved their food and the customer service. But went in Jun'21 and the quality has come doen drastucally. It could be that they dont have the same chef and servers. Ordered Mediterranian Ozza which i had loved the last time and this time it was terrible.
The server lady was also probably just overworked (she was rude without even saying anything)

Best pizza i have ever had

Very disappointed! The one start is NOT because they mixed our order and gave us wrong food even when we were the first customers for the day! The one star is NOT because they did not offer a proper apology for the inconvenience that I have to walk 1 km to return the wrong food and get the correct. The one star is NOT for the fact that we gave tip to support the struggling business even when the food is only take out and the waitress did not even say "Thank you"! THE one star is for the extremely poor and very overpriced food! WE have ordered 3 simple things and received:
a tasteless pasta
a bland salad and
an undercooked tasteless burger that came with a super small side of fries.
We paid 80 dollars for this! Very disappointed!

My wife and I placed a take out order by phone, caesar salad and two pizzas. Service was nice, polite, and very fast. Salad was good, chucks of real parm cheese and bacon, and plenty for two to share. Pizzas on the other hand, were terrible. I can’t believe so many people rate it so high, it was that bad. I can’t help but feel ripped off spending $50 on pizza the we did not enjoy whatsoever.

Food was good, service was okay, though that can be chalked up to it was busy. Is it something I regret paying for and eating. No as we had the pizza and the crust was delicious, and the toppings were very generous. Is it somewhere i would tell friends and family to go to when visiting the area, unfortunately not. Still, if you want a decent pizza and you are in the area, hit them up. The menu is also much more than just pizza, but the wife and I have a fun little tradition to try a wood fire pizza on every travel.

Highly recommend! We had the duck poutine (excellent!) and then our entrées were the linguine bolognese and a trout dish, I believe.the portions are very generous and the ambience is great!

Came in as a hungry group after biking around NOTL all day. Lots of options to choose from on the menu and the pastas seemed to be the most popular choice at our table. Atmosphere, service, and food were all just okay.

My shrimp and sausage pastas were soooo spicy. And I usually like my food spicy. That was just too much, had to take breaks during dîner and drink a lot of water. Other than that it was a really just ok place. Friendly staff, comfort food. Not a must see.

Nettes Bistro, in dem wir auch an einem sehr vollen Samstagmittag noch problemlos einen Tisch bekamen. Sehr nettes Personal, saubere Toiletten und ein sehr leckeres Essen rundeten hier das Gesamterlebnis für uns ab!

Unfortunately it was just ok. My glass was dirty, had dried lipstick all over it. Items weren't fresh and my husband was sick after he ate his meal. We were really hoping to enjoy it. Our server was great though. Not sure how long this type of food can be served with so many other eateries around. It was our first and last time.

Service was good, food was great (especially the burger), but the house wine was pretty mediocre. Overall would recommend!

When my my wife and I are in NIagara On The Lake, we always stop here fur dinner. We have been here many times. We have always had very good service. The food has always been excellent. The restaurant is clean and homey. We recommend this restaurant.

I really like this restaurant and their food quality, but my experience with one of their server and their service was not that good.

Went here yesterday on on a whim and it was truly a mistake. Service wasn’t the best and there were maybe 4-5 servers in the back corner conversing and not attending any tables. Our meals were over cooked and unseasoned. Don’t know how this place manages to maintain a 4+ star rating because we certainly won’t be coming back.

Good restaurant in a nice neighborhood and town walk. Larger portions and good food. Prices reasonable. Lots of sitting area. Nice and friendly servers.

Average. The menu appeared interesting, the execution was.average. In my opinion, it felt like they were cooking for tourists.

The wood oven pizza is great, especially the potato one. But they only allow two drink refills even during the hottest days.

Really good serve and decent pricing of there dishes. I had there woodfired pizza was excellent. It was a nice rustic almost European decor. I forgot our servers name, but was very helpful towards a Keto diet. I wish all servers had her type of attitude towards customers.

It's was ok, pizza wasn't as tasty as I thought it would be, I guess I'm used to higher quality pizza. Place was clean and attentive.

You can get a better frozen pizza at the supermarket. Salad was wilted and discolored. My favorite part of the meal was the fly I took a picture of buzzing around the table. Service was mediocre, lucky to get 2 stars.

Well. The food was good.the waitress was good. However. There was a guy there claiming to be a manager. Short stocky guy with a bushy unkempt looking beard. He claimed to be the manager. By the way the staff treated him he may have been. He was rude, and had the smell of alcohol on his breath. That may be why he was rude. I don't know. Either way I will not be going back.
