Black Birch Restaurant

We went here for our anniversary dinner in October and our meals were certainly above our expectations. One steak and one duck meal. Both dishes were beautifully cooked and delicious. The only comment would be that we would have liked to have seen a few more vegetables on the plate. Very reasonably priced. A small, quaint restaurant, hidden in Hockley Valley. Well worth the 45 min drive for us! Will be back again!

Food and service is wonderful, I’ve been here a few times; the menu is always changing and never disappoints, every time is a delicious surprise. I like it here for my romantic dinner dates, the ambience feels very cozy and intimate, and they have live music on the weekends (not sure if all the weekends though!) highly recommended!

Second time passing through the area and had to stop in as our first experience was amazing. The second time did not disappoint. The food is outstanding. You can't beat the quality and the price. The service was excellent and we were well taken care of. I highly recommend stopping in if you're in the area or even if you're not! It's worth the drive.

We went for dinner with friends for a Friday night treat. What a lovely experience! Ambiance, staff, food and drink.could not be better! Our waitress was funny and kibitsing with us. The other waitress has to join the fun too. The food was fantastic! Great wine list too! Dessert flight was the way to go- a bit of everyting- your choice. I would highly recommend Black Birch! Thanks yet again for a wonderful evening out!

6️ kinda place. The food was magnificent without being overpriced or complicated. Everything down to the salad dressing was made from scratch. EVERYTHING we had was delicious. If I was local I would eat here every day without feeling guilty. The cherry on top was the beautiful view from our widow of the very cozy inside out to the snowy grounds with fresh snow coming down. It was dreamy.

This place has incredible gourmet food at a good restaurant rate. The waiters are lively, knowledgeable, and wonderful company and the chef is very accommodating. The garden outside in the summer is lovely, sit there if you can but indoors also has a lovely ambience. Reserve ahead of time because locals know how great this spot is. Highly recommend going for a walk on the Bruce trail across the road and then going here for diner.

We had a fantastic dinner, staff so so very welcoming and friendly, thank you KIM! The dinner was delicious.would highly recommend this hidden gem.one word… AWESOME!

Lovely place. Great food. Very quaint. However our server spent way to much time touching my husband. Not the other men at table. We found it very uncomfortable. Always bending in front of him to serve others. We discussed how uncomfortable we both were. We have been here lots of times and enjoy our experiences. Was my birthday dinner. I have no idea what she was doing.

I recently attended in a party of 8 for a friend's birthday. The food was delicious, quaint and friendly atmosphere and the server Kelly was amazing! Will absolutely come again.

A bit ramshackle, service was fine. Food was ok, not great. Ceasar was unpleasantly strong garlic, duck breast was a bit overdone. Lamb shank was fine. It was ok but there's much better places in that area.

Lovely bistro near Hockley valley hike parking lot. Great place to dine after a hike. Apps and meals all excellent esp lamb Shank and Sunday roast meals.

Our 10th Anniversary and third visit back, The Black Burch did not disappoint!
Small but mighty this restaurant has small town charm with big city flavours!
Attentive staff who went the extra mile to find the wine we served at our rehearsal dinner 10 years ago and a wonderful interactive one man band truly made our special night a night we will remember. We laughed, we sang and had a a huge meal that I could not finish!
We started with the mussels in a delicious garlic sauce, my husband had the beef tenderloin and I the salon with lemon dill sauce. We finished off the night with specialty coffees and the decadent peanut butter pie- omg….
We will be back for our 11th Anniversary and look forward to making more special memories at the Black Burch.

To start off, I ordered a beer that I didn’t end up liking and when I said so to the wait staff, they gave me a dirty look and wouldn’t talk to me for the rest of the evening. Next, the caesar salad was bland and mushy and i was met with the same reaction as the beer. The only highlight of the night was the dill grilled salmon but it took almost an hour and a half to get that anyway so I’m still not happy with it. Overall, it was a terrible experience and I will be saying so to everyone I know. Don’t be rude to your customers when they say they’re unsatisfied.

Nice cozy restaurant. Would go back but NOT to order Quiche Lorraine. Did not like the taste of it. Mussels were excellent!

We LOVED this restaurant, we were treated with such positive energy and joy and the food was simply delicious.
This will be our place to enjoy for years to come!

Hubby and I went for our Anniversary dinner.we had a made a reservation, but upon arrival we were treated rudely and our reservation was no where to be found. This was our 1st and last experience! The owners could have cared less about losing our reservation & offered no apology!
