Waitress Vicky was so polite and friendly took our drink order right away, brought us our starters, soup and salad delicious, Vicky brought us our food and my husband decided he wanted a side order of gravy, Vicky went and got it for him right away. It was starting to get busy but she kept checking on us to make sure we were ok. After dinner my husband got the triple chocolate mousse, it was my husband's birthday, and Vicky got a candle and lit it so my husband could make a wish on his birthday, now a days how many people are that kind and they did take his dessert off of our bill. So thoughtfull. We love going to Blackforest, food always delicious, portions are huge.

Can't go wrong with the pork or chicken schnitzel, the sauerkraut is good. I tried the spaetzle it was okay not what I expected but that me. Black Forest Inn never disappoints we have been going since we were in High school.many many years ago

The price can't be beat and the food is amazing every time.

It's not what it used to be. I am very disappointed in the food as simple as a salad. The taste is not good anymore. Sure won't be ordering from there anymore.

We placed a large order through Uber.
Arrived on time.
When we opened everything up, we were missing one entre, two soups and sides were wrong.

We called the restaurant to figure out the issue. The gentleman on the phone, who I'm going to guess is the owner was rude, dismissive and quite frankly wouldn't focus for 30 seconds to resolve our issue. He then got frustrated, handed the phone off to a female manager who then accused my sister of swearing (no swearing occured, we are sitting at a dinner table with our 80 year old grandparents) to which the phone was handed back to the gentleman who had originally gotten frustrated.

She couldn't have been any CLEARER with the missing items.

We will never order here again. This was a simple issue that could have very easily been resolved. Fortunately Uber eats has refunded us, but a refund DOES not negate absolutely unexpectable customer service.

Next time you have customers with an issue, remove yourself from the kitchen so you can focus instead of trying to both deal with your customers and your staff all at the same time. You can't be yelling things at your employees, then get mad at us when we think you're yelling at us.

Tried to have diner here today, asked for a table for 5 so we could be seated until our friends arrived, they were running 10 minutes late. We were told no way, we had to wait to be seated only when the whole party arrived.
The rudest guy I’ve ever met! We left as we felt so disrespected. Don’t spend your money here, they have no respect for their customers.

The food is consistently good. We drive all the way from London just to go there! The schnitzel and the spaetzle are the best I've had.

Always wanted to try the Black Forest for years. Finally tried it on Sunday. Waited for quite awhile for service after we sat down. Decided to order food with our drinks as the service was slow. Food was not what I expected very dry no flavor. Now I can say I tried it for the first and last time.

Service was slow the bread that was always enjoyable before the meal was limited to I pc per person, when I asked for more bread the waitress said they didn't had enough for the rest of the customers, and said it's a supply issue from Covid. The meal was not up to par its not like it used to be.

Large portions, this is a hamilton landmark. Heavy German food, great if that's what you are into. Use sparingly. Comfort food foe some.

Ordered takeout. A Cesar salad turned into a garden salad. Kapusta was about 2tbsp worth. Their salmon and caviar side was less than half a slice of a bread with 1cmx1cm PC of salmon on each. Completely omitting the caviar. The only enjoyable part of the meal was the gravy and fried egg. Pork was dry AF and embarrassing to the cultural food they attempt to replicate.

I've been coming to this place since I was in high school fifteen years ago. It was one of my favourite spots. I'd go every year for my birthday dinner, we'd get take out often, I'd hype this place to my friends.schnitzel in Munich was just as good as what you'd get here, it felt authentic and a good value.

I know at some point ownership changed and that's life, but since then it's been a slow decline in quality to now. Maybe it's my fault for ordering take out instead of dining in, but even back then the take away was fantastic. But they've stopped the bread service with your order, the take out menu cut back a lot, and then today I just got my schnitzel and wow, what a disappointment.

Pounded so thin the meat was like eating leather. The breading was off and it was like the schnitzel was just coated in flour. The potatoes were bland as all hell, under cooked, not a bit of salt or any real seasoning.

What was once my favourite meal I could get in the city has just made me so sad I'm sure I'll hit it up again to give a chance and hope maybe I got a fluke, but this was a huge oof after a few years of okayish schnitzel, which for years was the best schnitzel I'd ever had. And I love schnitzel.

If you're looking for Germanic-inspired foods, then you can never go wrong with the Black Forest Inn. This is a Hamilton legend for a reason: absolutely amazing meals, a wonderful waitstaff, and a cozy environment keep us coming back year after year.

The food is great and we usually order with Uber eats, but when we ordered directly from the store they were so rude when we showed out. They sent us to the back alley to pick our food, then sent to the front to pay then sent us back to the alley to pick it back up because they didn’t want to walk to the kitchen and give it to us… im so disappointed because they do make good food but this ruined the restaurant for us.

The black forest inn is an awesome restaurant that serves amazing food.their customer service is great and the food arrives quickly.the restaurant has a cozy atmosphere which makes dining there very enjoyable. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a delicious meal

I went here hoping it was something great for a snitzel. Unfortunately the place is dirty and the staff are not welcoming or accomodating, and acted petty. So we felt uncomfortable and left. I think the most interesting part of reading some reviews about how the owner repliés to them defensively and blames the customers with no remorse. AVOID!

My first visit for my birthday dinner and the drive was worth it.we had rouladen with spätzle and rotkraut, it tasted almost like home and the service was delightful can't wait to come back.danke für den tollen abend

This restaurant has been a favorite of my wife and I for many years. Generous portions of delicious European foods coupled with friendly staff and cozy atmosphere.
Located just east of downtown Hamilton with plenty of parking available or a short walk to Jackson Square.

I have been eating here for 30 years, and have come to expect quality and consistency even when my food is delivered. It's a pricey meal but usually worth it. Last night I spent about $40 for one app and one entree meal (free delivery, but that also includes a driver tip, service fees and taxes). I recieved dry, stone-cold pretzels with a solidified blob of "cheddar fondue", underseasoned potatoes that were raw in the middle, a wilted salad, and extremely dry schnitzel that even the lemon wedge couldn't save. I reached out to the delivery service and was denied a refund.
