Nice patio and good atmosphere. I’m a bit confused by the croissants because they seem to just be some kind of bread in the shape of a croissant. Overall good coffee and I’ll be back!

Black Walnut is the by far the BEST bakery cafe shop I have even been to in London.

The staffs are nice and kind, you will feel very welcome when the greet you.
Their spinach pie. I have no word to describe. I order it EVERYTIME when I go there if it's available.
The mocha is real good. It is the top 3 in my mind in Canada (I think I've tried enough Mocha around Canada to say this)

The only thing (not always but during peak hours) you may have hard time hearing what your friend is talking about, that's how noisy it can get and may ending up just eating and drinking coffee with zero socialize until people are gone I'd recommend to visit the shop early in the morning, maybe between 10am-12pm and after 3 would be the best for studying/reading, more quiet and peaceful

Always a pleasure to visit one of Black Walnut locations. The spinach and mushroom pie makes a wonderful lunch to eat there or to take away. I must note the staff are consistently polite and professional. I recommend this cafe for coffee to visitors and locals.

Great coffee and friendly staff! Must try the Jamaican patties! Not your typical patties and not spicy either. They are so delicious, we always buy extra to bring home:)

In terms of food we ordered Iced Latte, Hot Cappuccino, Egg & Bacon Scone, Chocolate Almond Cruffin and, a Chelsea Bun (not pictured). What an absolute treat, everything was great. No complaints.

In terms of service, we were helped by a gentleman whose name escapes me but, wow he was so friendly and willing to answer any questions we had. Additionally, this is the first place I can recall in years where tip percentages are reasonable at 5,10, or 15 percent.

In terms of atmosphere, the inside and outside patio are very clean and well maintained, beautiful flowers, a great mix of sun or shade, etc.very warm and welcoming.

The service was good but I had to wait about 10 mins for my coffee, and I liked the outside sitting area.

Can be hard to snag a patio seat in nice weather. Love the staff here, will bring stuff to your table. Just wish I could see the menu closer up but it does change often so maybe not plausible.

Nice cafe at Oxford and Richmond intersection. They have a patio outside and some seatings inside as well. I tried their banana bread. It was soft and nutty so I really liked it. Also, I tried their cruffin which was good too. Overall a lovely experience.

My first time coming here was by fluke I just decided why not, it is close to my work and my coffee won't get cold. Well it has now become my frequent stop. The coffee and treats are absolutely delicious! Absolutely LOVE the chocolate croissants and the cruffins!

Nothing is as memorable as having a cup of coffee in the soft sunlight. This Black Walnut Bakery Cafe in the northern downtown is such a chilled-out place with a great atmosphere. The staff here always smiles, which allowed me to feel very comfortable. Their pay increase is absolutely needed.

I love this place. It's consistently reliable in terms of quality and selection. Today, my hubby and i wore masks into the cafe and we noticed the staff member who helped us put on a mask after seeing ours. That was incredibly thoughtful and MUCH appreciated. Thank you. It's been hard not being able to go out ever because i have immuno compromised family and most people are ignoring public health measures.

Black Walnut is the BEST PLACE TO GO for coffee and breakfast. Highly recommend.

Everything was good except the place did not have many outlets and the place does not offer wifi. A real bummer to what could be a great coffee shop.

My favourite cafe in London!

Their pastries and drinks taste amazing and they are at a reasonable prices!? If you are visiting this cafe for the first time, definitely give their cruffins a try! They are amazing! It’s basically a muffin with crispy layers and cream inside the muffin! I always get their earl grey tea with steamed non fat milk, the flavour is very nice and it’s really good! The interior is spacious and very comfortable! Staffs are super nice and responsive! One thing I wish they had was wifi, it would be so much better if they have wifi there so people can work or browse on internet but they are amazing

I ordered a variety of breakfast sweet & savoury pastries! The gentlemen helping me was so nice and he made it so easy to pick out my treats. I brought them to work and then brought the extras back home for my family. Three of them have been sitting there for a few days, but I ate the rest tonight and they’re still absolutely PHENOMENAL! Amazing flavour, soft texture, buttery, so yummy! I would highly recommend.

Definitely a 5Star experience form start to delivery. Called from BC and they jumped to the pump and we get the order completed and now delivered. First rate all the way! Recommend this place highly.definitely a 5 star

Greek coffee place on the Richmond Row. Although they had run out a lot of menu options by the time we got there on a Sunday late in the day which is understandable.

Great service, great coffee, great baking. As a newcomer to London, I'm very pleased to have so quickly found a café that I love. I've been go both locations here, and they are equally lovely.

Love Black Walnut! But I second the reviews about the door banging and shouting "Welcome! ". It makes me want to avoid coming in some mornings when I have just woken up and not even had a coffee yet. Maybe I'm silly haha. But it feels unnecessary.

But I do love the drinks and food. Mostly everything is delicious. It is a big pricey, but it is worth the experience as a special treat. I did notice the iced drinks are sometimes a bit gritty like someone commented which I would not expect for the cost. The hot drinks (like mocha, it's my favourite here of anywhere) are absolutely delicious though.

The patio is extremely lovely and I like that you can sit in shade or sun depending on your preference. Inside it gets a bit crowded though but I think they do their best with the size of the space and amount of customers, but just know your plans may change if you show up at a busy time expecting a seat inside (especially if you are a group).

The staff this past year is always absolutely wonderful and genuinely seems to care about making it a positive experience. The music is always nice and not too obtrusive like some places. It's a good place to go with a friend or alone.

My husband and I are from Guelph and were referred by my sister, to the Black Walnut Cafe. The staff were very polite and cheerful and efficient. We had the chicken pot pie, a sandwich, and coffee. All were fresh and delicious! The pastry on the pie was perfect!
To top it off, we had our 1st "cruffin", a house specialty, it was amazing! We will definitely be back and refer this café to all.

I love everything about this place. The animals, the food, the train ride, the playground. It’s an all round experience especially for families with little kids.
I was expecting a lot more variety of animals but still had fun.

I hope I don't sound like a grumpy old coot but they really need to fix their damn door! Every time someone walks in it slam bangs shut and they yell welcome in! Totally spoils an otherwise very nice café.

Ordered a iced mocha and there was so much undissolved cocoa powder, hard to drink especially towards the end because Of the gritty texture, disappointing because it was very expensive too. It’s a cute cafe but has no wifi (at least I’m pretty sure, couldn’t find any networks for them and everyone around me had to use their data) I’ve never been to a cafe with no wifi before so that was a surprise. Workers are all very nice, but told me I couldn’t eat the small snack I brought, which I guess is fair, but I’d rather just go to Starbucks then.

Good coffee. Nice food selection. Got to sit on patio with the sparrows. Going back again to hang out with my spouse.

We Love this place! The coffee is good the tart of the day was oh so yummy we bought an extra to take home and the chocolate banana walnut bread pudding was decadent

OMG, the CRUFFINS! These are sooooooo delicious. My favourite thing to have at the Black Walnut. Great day for sitting on their patio. Also had a London Fog, very good.

Back again today Nov 1 and I am totally impressed. Had a sandwich and that bread was deliciously soft and tuna was super tasty! And, accompanied with arguably the best tomato soup I've had in yrs - fresh, flavorful and it tasted like tomatoes. Cruffins rule! Crusty top, and the lemon like filling was so fresh and balanced by the soft doughy bottom - a delight to finish off the meal.

Great coffee house that offers some good desserts and coffee choices. I wish my dark roast was tastier and they have a few more dessert choices but this place is much better the chains! Come relax and enjoy. I'd improve my rating to a 4.0 but was unsatisfied with both the coffee and dessert last time.

The place is cosy and nice, it got busy when I was their but their espresso is the best in london so far and worth the wait. Bretzels (hopefully spelled correctly) are so good however I wouldn't recommend their chocolate ganach cheese cake. The service is spot on

Very nice cafe, their pastries are second to none. It can get very loud inside but the patio is always very nice and relaxing.

This place is located at the corner of the street. I really liked their sitting area placed outside the cafe. Inside, it’s small and cozy. Simply loved the variety of desserts this place offers including decent range of coffees. Went there with friends and loved the recommendation.

My girlfriend and I absolutely love coming here. We've tried almost everything they sell and all of it has been delicious. The freshly baked bread and treats make for excellent meal or snack option to complement their top quality coffee and tea. They also offer fairly large bags of their own tea for a very good price ($8 I believe), which I am a huge fan of.

A great place! Delicious food and baked goods, warm friendly service. The weakest item on the menu (ironically) is the coffee.

A busy little downtown spot with a nice patio. Had a cinnamon latte made with almond milk. They were out of cinnamon syrup but we're able to make one up special with a different recipe. Tasted nice but needed sweetening. Would have given more stars if they had a plant-based bakery option. Hard to believe in this day and age they wouldn't have at least one vegan option.

One of my absolute favourite places in London around 2014-2015. Delicious food and coffee, great vibe. Studied here a lot as a student.

Fast friendly service. Only take out available. Well marked for distancing. Pastries and sweet breads. Sandwiches and hot food available too.

Get the cruffin! It is to die for! I got the raspberry whipped cream one and it was delicious. It was very rich though so next time, I'm going to eat half and leave the rest for later on in the day

It’s such an amazing place. Love the service here. The team working here is just amazing. I love their hot beverages and also enjoy their sumptuous spread of their bakery delicacies!

Had the same issue with some of the other reviews here. Service was overall rude. The sandwiches were pretty good (we had the curried egg salad and turkey Swiss). The coffee was not good. Wish I had said yes to leaving space for dairy in the Americano. Can make yourself a better one at home if you have an espresso machine
