Blackhorn Steakhouse

My wife and I went to this place for their steak. The atmosphere is very intimate and the food was amazing. I would definitely make this place my go to place for a date night. I am looking forward to trying other items on the menu on my next visit.

Husband and I enjoyed a celebratory retirement dinner at The Blackhorn. Had one of the specials of the day, which was a pan fried trout. Very yummy.

Dry steak they don’t know how to cook, and gaslighted by waitress

- I’m so confused about all these positive reviews they really got my hopes up
- my ny strip had no sear what so ever and when I complained the server didn’t even know what a sear was
- I ordered medium rare and it was medium DRY. They tried to cover it up with sauce LOL
- The server then continued to gaslight me and say “I’ve had medium rare and this looks medium rare”. She took it to the back and brought it back and said she said the chef said it medium rare.
- Was offered no discount at all for the rubbish food
- Wasn’t offered dessert but we wanted to get out of there anyways
- Server was mad we only tipped 10% even tho she gave attitude
- no music in the restaurant
- Conclusion: stick to the keg at least their garlic bread is free and they give you cake for celebrations and they KNOW how to cook a juicy steak

I recently visited this establishment and have to say that I would rate the location, cleanliness, service and food a 10/10. I frequent steak houses throughout the GTA but this one really left a great impression on me. It's a very classic and warm environment where you are welcomed and greeted by the wait staff as well as the lovely owners. The garlic cheese bread was a 10 and the steak dinner was superb. I had the peppercorn steak which was a perfect medium-well, the roasted potatoes were seasoned and nicely cooked and the vegetables were fresh and well prepared. The ceasar salad was amazing as well and definately one to remember. Waitress was attentive and kind and the owners give each and every customer a warm and friendly experience. Music wasn't blasting and the vibe was one that would suit a family dinner or a date night! I'll definately be back.

The steak was excellent. The service was a bit slow to start, but the food arrived on time as the night went on.

I took my family for mother's Day. The food was really great. The waitresses very nice and polite and quick service all around five stars

We had an amazing experience here last night! Went for my boyfriends birthday due to hearing so many fantastic things about Blackhorn steakhouse, and they did not disappoint. The food was amazing, steaks were cooked perfectly, and the appetizers were great. (The jumbo shrimps are HUGE!). On top of the food the service was impeccable, our waitress did an amazing job and we will be sure to request her next time we’re back! Overall fantastic experience!

This is a Toronto gem. We hate restaurants. My wife is worse than me! We liked EVERYTHING. She couldn’t find anything to hate! We will be back. Server was great too! Not overly or underly attentive! Knowledgeable and a bit fun.

An over all excellent experience.
The filet mignon was perfectly cooked medium-rare & the lobster tail taste full.

A little on the higher side of pricing however food was exceptional.

A romantic atmosphere for a date.

Awesome 12oz Ribeye done perfectly. Root vegetables, steak neptune was great. Highly recommend garlic bread, clam chowder on some nights.

An undiscovered secret of Scarborough is this tucked away restaurant at Warden and Ellesmere! I was invited by a friend once and that's how I got introduced to this restaurant. Family run, very hospital and friendly environment.
Food review: for appetizer, we had the most DELICIOUS bread sticks, coated with cheese and garlic. It was warm, crispy just the right touch and to die for! This was followed by the main course, which consisted of the blackened trout was absolutely delicious and filling! The fish was cooked just to the right tenderness. The steak with blue cheese sauce was absolutely superb! We munched it down in no time! The dessert was Italian theme, tartufo, raspberry in the center and chocolate exterior. Very rich and decadent. Overall, we had a fantastic meal here and more people need to try their food out!
Another visit: main course was the rack of lamb - wow delicious (I compare it to lamb I've eaten in New Zealand!), Followed by tiramisu cheesecake dessert (tastes more like cheesecake than tiramisu but nice to have a different texture)
Improvement: the decor was a bit dated; Salad was non-descript.

The garlic bread must try, so yummy. The taste of the food is good. However, we ordered the lamb chop, filet mignon, and Striploin were a bit overcooked. I guessed it was a bit late. We arrived 7.30pm.

Great little Scarborough gem. Its decor is a bit dated but it feels like a place you've been going all your life. Food was excellent, prices reasonable and great service. Will go again

This restaurant is our favourite! Incredible staff and the food is absolutely perfection! Always soooo fresh! Beautiful cooked! Variety for everyone! My kids love the chicken souvlaki the fish the steak. Anything you order is incredible! Ohhh the garlic bread WOW! This restaurant deserves 10!
