My Shihtzu Scruffy went in for a check up and vaccines.
He got a clean bill of health except for teeth extraction required as per Dr. Mark. Scruffy went in for teeth extraction I was thinking maybe 2 or maybe 3 but no (22 teeth were removed-CRAZYYYY!) which was performed by Dr. Krystyna. He died less than 24hours after surgery due to blood in his lungs from the surgery and had issues breathing from the time I picked him up to his passing, his tongue was hanging out as if he had a stroke, he had trouble balancing trying to have water or something to eat. He was to out of it from the surgery. I was assured that everything he was going through is normal for the procedure performed. Dr. Krystyna didnt have the courtesy to call me or email me with her input. Scruffy would not have died if they were more competent. Also they are very expensive!
HE DID NOT HAVE TO DIE! He was my Life line and helped me through my Mental, Physical and Emotional Health. Scruffy deserved the Best! He was so Loving Huggable Playful Happy and Spunky. I Love Scruffy Always! There is none like Scruffy.

Bloorcourt Team Thank you for your reply and sympathy its appreciated. I also want to Thank you for trying your best to revive Scruffy but he was already gone and Dr. Krystyna for finally reaching out to me.
It's unfortunate that I lost my Scruffy it will be 1 month today that he had surgery. I lost my Scruffy as well as surgery $$.
Your offer for postmortem would only make things worse I do not want him disturbed further he died a dreadful death now please let him rest in peace.

Today I called to enquire about the cost for having a fit to fly cert for my dog. I was given a range of 130-250. I asked can it be more specific & I was told. " I CAN NOT, I JUST MAKE THE BOOKINGS".

I then asked can he go & run it by the vet & was informed "THAT IS ABOVE MY PAY GRADE". The staff member constantly talked over me & kept telling me details about china's requirement for pets. I am Irish flying to Ireland, China doesn't concern me.

I won't use the vet but what an ignorant unhelpful individual.

I've been coming to the excellent Bloorcourt Dr. Kayla and the amazing supporting team Maria, Christina, Giselle, Amber, and Alyssa for many years.

They are understanding, patient, accommodating, caring, and professional.

There are many clinics much closer to my home, but I drive out of the way to bring them here because they've been the most comfortable, compassionate and helpful for my lovely fur family boys Dante and Alan.

Wonderful staff, Dr Kayla is amazing with our dog. She is up front with the cost of visits and provides plenty of treatment options. She ever tries to push anything unnecessarily expensive on us and she’s very honest and friendly.

Loved it! So helpfull and I felt so comfortable. We actually at one point all sat on the floor at my dog's level as the vet examined him there to make him feel more comfortable.

I recently brought my cat Pancake to Bloorcourt Veterinary Clinic for our first vet visit together, and the team was so kind and welcoming. As a new pet owner, there is a lot I am still learning, and both Stephany and Dr. Krystyna were friendly and gracious in teaching me ways to keep Pancake healthy and happy. They gave her a check-up and a vaccination in expert fashion, and Pancake even got some treats! Thanks Bloorcourt Vet Clinic!

We have a high energy feline which is not a fan of vet visits. After experiencing a medical crisis last year we found Bloorcourt Veterinary Clinic from a co-worker's referral for our companion's ongoing routine care. Dr. Kayla's team were professional and especially caring with our cat making us believe we found a permanent medical ally. Thank you!

Hi my name is Lucia and my pet name is Bella I went today to the this vet to pick up food and a follow up appointment, the doctor with her talk she call me “lier “when she can give the right training to her staff. When I went there for the first time doctor assistant told me the follow up was free so I was not prepared for the coast of 92d they ask me for the consultation today. Doctor Rachel is not professional, and I recommended her to training her stuff to do a better job for future. I have to leave without food for my babe dog because the people working at that place not communicate properly with the customers. I do not recommend this place. To everyone know me I’m animal lover and I can’t just let this passing when they treat you like you are the problem for not having the crazy money they ask for. Bem aja

I had a great experience at this vet, by far the best vet I have ever been to. The veterinarian and other staff were very caring and went above and beyond. Would recommend to anyone looking for a new vet!

Unable to take my animal for an appointment, just moved into the area and basically they told me to go else where, needed a small check up for me dog, very unhelpful.

Awesome staff and exceptional vet! Mark Kinghorn takes the time to explain everything and provides practical solutions to our pet's problems.

Love this place! Very caring and attentive staff who all clearly have a passion for pets.

Since the start of the pandemic though, they haven't allowed anyone indoors while their pet is being attended to. It's pretty unpleasant to walk around in the cold the whole time, especially when you know your pet is inside in pain without you. I'm loathe to knock it down a few stars though because I really like the staff, and I honestly have no idea what the rules are for vets right now.

Quality of care, in our personal experience, has deteriorated over time. Just switched vets and it was the best decision we could make for our pup.

I took my cat to Bloorcourt because he was long overdue for a checkup. This was his first visit to the clinic. The news was not great and there are gonna be a series of tests for my poor kitty. But the doctors and staff at the clinic are fantastic! So thoughtful and caring and despite having to be outside the clinic doors waiting for him they keep in contact explain things thoroughly and thoughtful and since I've pretty much got a phone call check in everyday! You can not do better for other pets care. I’m thankful to be taking him there.

I have been with them for over 20 yrs & I won’t trade them for the world. They take of Rocky & yes he can be more than a handful but they know how to handle him, with care & understanding, but most of all they treat him & us as a part of their family.

I take my 5 month Rottweiler pup to this amazing vet! They are kind and take really good care of my pup and I’m more than positive with other pet owner animals as well! Never had a bad experience here highly recommend prices are fair and the staff are amazing!

My pet got a good service and attention.
I'm glad they're LGBT+ friendly, I wish they were more Immigrant-friendly. Telling "here in North America" "you have to speak clear" considering that English isn't my first language (like many immigrants who have built Canada) and judging my pet's health and the care that received previously basing it on nationalities has a name ending on "phobia".

What an awful experience. We called this clinic because our dog had a broken dew claw. The next day we took her there, we were told we would have her back in 3 hours at most. 4 hours later, we get a call from the doctor, telling us the procedure (which hadn't even been started) would cost four times what was initially told. Note that there was nothing particularly special about the injury (I had actually taken care of it myself in the past). Since they had already performed a "check", I would have been charged anyway, so I decided went ahead with the procedure. However, the lack of transparency and ethical behaviour by the staff, as well as the gross overblowing in the necessary procedures (for example, a simple bandage cost nearly $70) was absolutely appaling. I'll never be taking my pets there again, and I'll make sure to advise my friends not to do so either.

I have been bringing my pets to this
clinic for over 48 years and have had outstanding care and compassion for every pet I have owned. The staff are very professional and very attentive.

The staff go above and beyond. It has to be exhausting. I feel like they all work triple overtime with all the extra work they do with follow up and care. I can't thank them all enough.

Great service, had a emergency and they had me in the same day and fixed the problem promptly. Dr. Gigi and the vet techs were fabulous, bring your pets here!

They're busy af all the time, but they still take the time to make sure both u and your pet are well.

This review is long overdue as we have been going to Bloorcourt for years. They quality and care of this clinic for our pets is remarkable. All of the staff and their professionalism is unparalleled and I 100% recommended them

I've taken my dog here for almost a year and every single visit has been incredible. Our pup loves this place and people so much he RUNS inside - no fear or hesitation. We've had all of his shots here, gotten medication and his neutering. Every single appointment was organized, on time and positive. These staff really care about the pets - and the owners too! When our pup went in for neutering (which was during COVID), they called us twice during the day to update us on his progress. They then called us the next day to ask how he was doing! We've always felt like a respected part of the Bloorcourt family!

Happy to share my experience with anyone that are looking for a great Veterinary clinic, always attended to the needs of your animal, in my case my Dog, all the staff are friendly, helpful and professional. Dr. Kayla is amazing and very knowledgeable. Thank you for your service. 100% recommend.

Couldn't figure out what is wrong with my puppy but tried to sell me products. Will not be coming back.

Bloorcourt has been my vet for years. The staff is caring and professional, and they are as gentle with my anxious, mean cat as they are with my relaxed anything-goes cat. They make room when I have a truly urgent issue, and can get me routine appointments to suit my schedule. They let me know all of the options available for testing and treatment, but are not judgmental about my cost-benefit analysis regarding how much care I can/will provide my pets. Similarly, they provide reminders for follow-ups, but don't get judgmental when those are delayed or overlooked entirely. They were respectful and compassionate when they had to put down a very old cat of mine many years ago. They are not cheap, but the staff are worth it and I'm sure rent is not cheap either at their very convenient (for me) Bloor Street location.

Was pleased to see how cautious they are regards covid protocals. Initially, I was concerned that without me my doggo would be uncomfortable or uncooperative but it turns out my concerns were unwarranted. They were wonderful

The staff and Dr. Worrall were so kind and compassionate when we had to put our young cat down. They were incredibly helpful and acted fast when she got sick.

Yesterday my cat Phoenix had major dental surgery at Bloorcourt, and many reading 'dental' know all that that entails, from start to finish it is hard on the pet, the 'pet's person' and the staff dealing with the 'pet's person' (I know I'm not the only crazy cat lady out there) The full experience from start to finish has been extremely caring and personal. It felt like everyone there was happy to help us get the care we need, and all the details of how to make both pet and person feel calm about the procedure. He is just waking up from his multi tooth extraction and he is purring. The medical care has been top notch, the intake and the out patient help has been excellent and Phoenix and his 'person' highly recommend this clinic, two paws up.

The service and care was excellent. I felt like they truly cared about my dog before the bottom line. I received daily follow ups by phone and email. I never felt like the clock was ticking or that my questions and concerns weren't being listened to. Thank you!

The stuff in there were very nice and didn’t judge on my cats behavior. But I believe that they overcharged me and did not do nearly as good of a job as I recently had from another local veterinarian at less then 40% of the bill.

Our pet goes here. Always welcoming and answer all our questions. Bit on pricier side but very reliable.

This is the best vet I've had in Toronto - last two were a nightmare. Stayed with them for 3 years and will probably come back even after moving to a new part of the city.

I would not recommend this place. So many friendly professional vets in Toronto, this place not one of them. At this place I went to with my partner, they tell us there is nothing wrong with our dog even though dog is sick, charge for lots of tests that they did nat run, I know this because I went to other vet and they tell me immediately what the problem was and fixed with simple medicine. Staff here are unhelpful and do not know job

I needed a vet close by to check out my newly-adopted senior dog. Both Rosemary and Sheena were super helpful and managed to get us an appt for the following day rather than two weeks later. The vet called with suggestions and info while I waited outside. I really appreciated it. In these times of COVID, kindness goes a long way! Next time though, I'd like to meet the vet, mask and all!

Bloorcourt Vet is one of the better clinics I have been to. Meagan is a wonderful, loving and thorough Vet who is also understanding and non judgemental. I highly recommend this vet, especially if you are close by!
On a side not, they explained all the costs of my vet bills prior to starting so that there were no surprises! Thank you guys️

We have been taking our rescue dog Ru to Bloorcourt for nearly a year now, and we have always had a great experience. The staff are kind, courteous, and extremely empathetic. Our little Ru is quite anxious, and every vet that we have spoken to there have explained all of our options, and never made us feel bad or weird about choosing to medicate her to help Ru be her best self (and it's working!)

The clinic has mostly female vets, which is great for Ru as she has a fear of men. There is at least one male vet, who Ru has seen, and he was quite gentle and respectful of her boundaries. The vet techs are also wonderful, and Ru has loved meeting them all so far!

They are also very conscientious of costs, and often recommend other solutions for reducing cost like bringing vaccination dates closer together so that they can be all done in one visit instead of two.

Highly recommend this vet clinic!

I visited this clinic last month because my cat was having respiratory issues. They did not listen to her lungs, do bloodwork or do anything to investigate the issue. Today I took her somewhere else and a very thorough check up was performed. I have received the difficult news that she has heart disease. I urge this clinic to do more thorough tests on animals. Had they taken the smallest effort to investigate this, I would have started treatment on her weeks ago. It has since gotten much worse and I am very worried about my little friend.: (

I wouldn’t recommend this place if you want thorough check ups.

EDIT: the response below, while I understand this business’s perspective, is even more discouraging. I was present for the entire exam. When a stethoscope was used at the other clinic, the problem was discovered within the first minute of the appointment.

As for her becoming distressed, this happened because another cat had urinated in the small treatment room, and my cat responded to the strong odour present. After this, my appointment was rushed. When I asked what I should do, I was told to hold a spoon by her nose to see her breathing at home. The doctor told me further examinations were difficult and may require surgery - the discussion was not that I should come back.

If these are what you’re records are telling you, someone has misinformed you.

Excellent veterinarians and technicians, they helped my kitty feel comfortable and were able to figure out what was going on very quickly! Highly recommended!

If I could give this clinic more than 5/5, I would! We were always welcomed warmly and everyone seems to truly love their work. Love their team approach with the vet and tech present for appointments, which helps things move along efficiently and offers an extra set of hands. Vets were always prompt in giving test results and Dr. Krystyna even kept an eye out for my sweet girl's results over a Holiday weekend when the clinic wasn't open. Dr. Mark's acupuncture is an excellent option and helped keep my girl feeling her best.
Even though I moved out of the city, they still kept in touch regularly and even sent a card to my new address when they learned of Queen Sadie's passing. In her 16+ years Sadie met quite a few vets and this clinic is really something special!

Very competent and compassionate service. My rescue cats (sweet, shy and very scared of strangers) saw Dr Meaghan who was amazing with them, they did not freak out! They have a fear-free method in this clinic that worked for us. The vet technician was awesome too. Examination was comprehensive and they ensured to answer all our questions.

If I could give zero stars, I would. This vet clinic is absolutely awful. The staff treats the animals and their owners with no respect, care or effort. They were very rude and heartless as soon as we walked into the door. They didn't even say hello before commenting on my dogs weight calling her extremely overweight. We will NEVER be returning and will strongly encourage others not to go to this clinic either. The staff is clearly very uneducated and only care about the money charging me for everything under the sun when it was completely unnecessary. I wouldn't trust them with any animals.

I have been going to this clinic for a little over 10 years. I have a personal attachment to this clinic as well as most of the staff there, as they have cared for my beloved dog from the day I brought him there, to his last breath.
Every time I came in there, we were welcomed with open arms. The staff never showed any fear towards my Rottweiler, quite the contrary they were so pleasant and really showed us how much they cared about him.
I also appreciate how knowledgeable the doctors are willing to answer any questions.
My dog passed away two weeks ago, and I felt like that staff shared our pain and really helped us with this difficult time.
Special shout out to Rosemary, Dr. Heather, Dr. Meagan, Tinh and Sheina who have been so kind and supportive while caring for my dog.
I can go on about how wonderful this place is.

Always kind, accommodating, and helpful. My dog is nervous and can be dog reactive and the staff do everything they can to help him (and me!) feel more calm and make the experience positive.

Even though they were running slightly behind, the staff made sure to take the time to answer all of my questions and to clearly explain all the the shots and test options (and prices) up front for my dog's annual exam. My dog has figured out what happens when we go to the vets, but she gets such a warm welcome and plenty of treats and pets that she doesn't seem to mind the few needles. There wasn't a single member of the staff that didn't react positively to her during our time there and they made every effort to make her comfortable. They got back to me the following day with all her results.

Fantastic place, careing staff, our dog went there for what we thought was pancreatitis and the vet did everything to save us money, they are moving right across the street sometime soon this year, when our boy did passaway they sent a nice sympathy card which was hice, very nice people, i highly recommend them.

I just took my cats here for the first time. My cats haven't been seen by a vet for a long time for two reasons 1). Vets intimidate me when they have a pushy approach with services 2). My cats are intimidated by vets. Both those issues were non issues! For one, all staff is super friendly, responsive, and caring. They made my cats feel at ease and recommended ways I can make their visits less stressful. Secondly, I did not feel at all like services were being pushed or that I was being judged if I questioned necessity (we all know how expensive vets can get!) They simply provided me with a professional and informed opinion. This builds a level of trust and comfort for both me and my cats:)

Amazing team! Very friendly and compassionate. Prices aren't any higher than your average vet and they'll be moving across the street in the spring so they're will be more space and a more accessible entrance.

Chances are there will be a wait of up to 10 mins as appointments do tend to run late but I have never been to a vet or a doctor's office where this doesn't happen. But if you're planning on a quick drop off or pick up it's best to plan that it'll take about 15 more minutes than you thought. Close to the subway.
